We booked for 3 nights to celebrate our anniversary and would just like to say what a wonderful visit we had. The location of the hotel is perfect! Close enough to the sights of York that everything was in easy walking distance, yet its close proximity to the Minster instilled a calm and serene atmosphere. The staff go above and beyond for their guests, and we cannot thank them enough for their helpfulness,kindness, and advice while we stayed. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome and at ease. The valet parking is an absolute godsend...whilst £25 per night may seem pricey, the knowledge that the car is secure and taken care of by the lovely staff is a huge weight off your mind. It's also worth noting that whilst there are public car parks you can use, these will cost you just as much over the course of your stay, and your car won't be nearly as safe. Even if you do need your car, the staff are amazing at fetching it (allow 10 to 15 minutes) and again will be so careful and kind with helping you with bags, etc. The breakfast is plentiful and delicious with a mouth-watering range of options to choose from, and again, the staff in the bar and restaurant could not be more helpful or friendly . (Thank you to the lovely lady behind the bar who introduced me to the rhubarb and ginger negroni...delicious! ) This hotel is beautiful, and we can both honestly say it made our anniversary perfect. We will be booking again!
