Hampton by Hilton Xiamen Jimei Xinglin Bay

This was my second visit to Xiamen, and the hotel truly exceeded my expectations. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly. I was in a rush checking out in the morning and accidentally left my earphones in the room, only realizing it in the afternoon. I called the hotel to inquire, and the front desk staff promptly helped me search for them. They were very patient in explaining the situation and eventually located them among the laundry. Their swift and efficient handling of the issue was truly commendable. The room was very clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The breakfast selection was extensive. There's a business center on the first floor for printing, and a self-service laundry room and gym on the M floor. The hotel also offers ample parking. Overall, I was extremely satisfied. I'll definitely choose this hotel again for my next visit to Xiamen!

Upon checking in, we immediately noticed a leftover food delivery sticker from the previous guest. We stayed for several days, and it truly felt like daily housekeeping was non-existent – quite disappointing. When I inquired about dinner options, the staff were completely clueless, simply stating it was 'like ordering takeout,' which wasn't helpful at all. With tour groups present, getting anything decent for breakfast was next to impossible. The front desk service was also very unprofessional. The staff seriously need some proper training.

Facilities: My first 'surprise' was when the shower head detached itself, hit me, and drenched me in water. The second 'surprise' was an unexpected power outage. Cleanliness: Clean. Environment: While it's conveniently located near Jimei University Town, there's a surprisingly good farmers' market nearby. Service: My third 'surprise': After the shower incident, no one seemed to care. It took a long wait and a second phone call before anyone finally addressed the problem, and not a single apology was offered. They only took action when explicitly prompted, which is utterly ridiculous.

I rarely leave reviews unless I'm truly compelled to. 1. Upon checking into our room on the first day, we found that the slippers had clearly been worn (despite being placed in a fresh, new bag), and the body lotion had already been opened and used. I called the front desk, and they initially offered to send replacements via a robot. Only after I strongly insisted on someone coming to inspect, a cleaning staff member was dispatched. She was very polite and profusely apologetic, so I decided not to press the issue. 2. I called the front desk to request a razor, only to be told they had run out for the day. I then suggested they could perhaps leave one in our room tomorrow while we were out during the day, so we wouldn't find ourselves without one again in the evening. Their response? 'We probably won't have any tomorrow either.' Fantastic! 3. I called to inquire about disposable toilet seat covers, and they supplied a disposable plastic toilet mat, similar to those found on high-speed trains. I just found this to be a bit tacky, but it wasn't a significant inconvenience. 4. The conditioner in the room was already empty on our first day; I had squeezed it flat trying to get something out. Yet, it remained in that exact 'squeezed flat' condition for two days, despite the room being cleaned daily. The overall environment, in my opinion, falls far short of Hampton by Hilton standards (and I just moved here from a Hampton in Ningde). It certainly doesn't live up to its promotional claims, especially regarding the 'garden' and similar advertised features. Given that this hotel is part of Jimei District's cultural and tourism initiative to attract visitors, I sincerely hope it's not just a one-off business transaction. Furthermore, the actual front desk service was abysmal, a stark contrast to the welcoming image automatically displayed on the TV upon entering the room. It's almost comical.
