Had a fantastic time on a 2 night Walk-in break at The Stables. The room was great and comfortable. The food and staff were first class. The only down side was access to the restaurant from where our room was situated, we had room 28 which was in the single storey at the rear of the hotel. On the first/second days there was access to the restaurant through a fire door at the end of the restaurant both in and out, then on the final morning this was locked from the outside so we had to walk the full length of the hotel to enter through the front door. Having to walk with crutches thus caused some difficulty, also nit ideal when it was pouring with rain. But overall a fabulous stay

I booked the Stables for my birthday weekend and it was okay. It is very convenient for the park and ride which we used to get into Whitby. The initial check-in, the member of staff that checked us in was slightly abrupt and could have been a bit more welcoming. I had booked to eat on the same night and was informed there was an over an hour and half wait for food, I'm not sure what happened during the day. We decided to eat and the food was satisfactory, the other staff member that took my order was more accommodating. The breakfast was good on the first morning, the continental was mediocre, perhaps more fresh fruit could be offered and prepared rather than a fruit bowl consisting of a few apples and brown bananas. The room was satisfactory, comfy bed, a tad on the small side for the bathroom and shower.

We stayed for 2 nights in September, our room was lovely very quiet apart from when it was windy it has a metal roof but it didnt bother us that much. The staff were all lovely and friendly simon checked us in, kirsty, heidi and robbie looked after us in the bar and restaurant. We couldnt fault the food. If you want any local information see kirsty shes like a walking tourist guide. If you like dogs talk to heidi especially german shepherds The park and ride is just across the road its ideal for a trip into whitby, we would definitely stay here again.

Easy check-in/out and plenty of parking. Dinner was OK but I find the ICG dining rooms too large and a bit soulless. It was busy but Simon was running the food & drink ordering at the bar very efficiently. Breakfast was a disappointment - no fruit salad or ham & cheese slices: not nearly as good as the Ripon Inn sister hotel but anyway quite efficient. The room was spacious and well equipped though the bathroom (also well equipped) was a bit small. A nice feature of the room was a back door opening onto a terrace with splendid gardens and three peacocks!

Visited evening 31/08/25 and had a fantastic visit. One of the people in our group is currently on a medical diet and has very restrictive dietary needs - the staff were really friendly and helpful in making sure their meal was safe to eat and tasty which was really appreciated, big thanks to the chef for making it happen! Lovely views and gardens and lovely dining area, thanks for a lovely end to our holiday!

Lovely catch up with friends, and that is what made the night. Food arrived and the sausage was burnt and mashed potato was a small amount. The veg was nice enough and the gravy tasty. Then to top it off my meal arrived last and so I was still eating as the young male waiter started clearing the table off. Just didn’t feel we had the best experience this time. Wouldn’t go back as not worth it in my opinion.

An excellent time was had with our group staying at The Stables @ Whitby, part of the Inn Collection. A big thankyou to Simon, Kirstie and Paul, your friendliness and professionalism was amazing. Your hospitality was fabulous, the food was delicious and the rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. Amazing staff in an amazing setting.
