The Witching Post Inn

Our staying at the Witching Post Inn could have not been better. Our room was spacious and very confortable. And the place has a lot of personality and history. If you want to know the roots of this place you can speak to the landlord, Pete. But more important Pete makes you feel at home, as you are part of the family. The stories, the jokes and the environment in the pub is so cosy that makes you feel you are between friends. And don't look anywhere else for food and drinks. We had dinner in here during the Parmo night, and the food was fantastic, one of the best we had in the area. And this includes the beer and gins. Also, we vouch for the breakfast, the full breakfast is delicious and we couldn't get enough of it. If you are staying the area, please do yourself a favor and stay at the Witching Post Inn. I am glad we chose this place for our staying, and a big thanks to Pete and all the staff for the lovely and welcoming staying

Visited this pub back in 2017/18 the landlord hod just opened again following some work. This year we were looking for a pub for Sunday lunch and trying a pub a family member recommended, only to find it was an automated service so gave up due to lack of personal service. Remembering the Witching post thought give it a try. Phoned up and got a real person on the phone. She was helpful and listened to our requirements as we would have three dogs with us. Following our phone call we were booked in with a quiet area for the dogs. We arrived to find it was the same landlord that was in post back in 17/18. He was friendly and approachable in fact his attitude encouraged conversation with other customers. Making it a friendly comfortable establishment. We went for Sunday lunch our drinks order was taken with jovial banter between us and the landlord. Someone came to take our food order and we did not have to wait too long for our food. The food was good value for money and no one had any complaints. It has been a number of years since we first visited the witching post, it will be another week before we return. As we were there a group we were talking to were booking a table for this time next year. What better recommendation could you ask for than people booking a year ahead.

We looked for somewhere to stay for a couple of nights in the North Yorkshire Moors and we couldn’t have chosen better. Pete and his staff went about and beyond to make us feel welcome and I would recommend eating there too because the food was tasty and beautifully cooked. The pub is quirky, comfortable and well situated to explore the surrounding area. We will definitely book to stay there again!

Had a busy first day exploring and was fairly late back to the cottage to check in. We called to see if there was a chance of a last minute booking. The Landlord Pete explained the restaurant was packed out but assured us he'd fit us in. We were greeted with a warm welcome, even though the staff were extremely busy. The food was amazing and we didn't feel rushed. Returned the next night to feel equally comfortable and enjoyed another night of great food and good company. Would recommend this place 100%.

We loved the ambience and the friendlyness of The Witching Post was understanding. Pete and his staff are kind, efficient and cannot do enough for you. we thoroughly enjoyed or time there and would love to go back some time.
