Following the warm and knowledgeable recommendation of Jo Wilmot at the Kenton on Sea Tourist Office, we decided to treat ourselves to a game drive at Pumba. From the moment we made our booking, everything was handled with genuine warmth, grace and effortless professionalism. We left Port Alfred in the soft light of early morning, with the sky unfolding into the most magnificent sunrise before us. It felt as though the day itself was preparing us for something extraordinary. On arrival, we were welcomed with a comforting cuppa and invited to relax while waiting for our guide. And then we met Lenah, whose warmth, knowledge and wonderful passion for leopards would make this one of the most memorable game drives I have ever experienced. The hours that followed were pure magic. There was laughter and fascination, from wrinkly bums disappearing into the bush to breathtaking encounters with the magnificent wildlife that calls Pumba home. Yet some of the most beautiful moments were the quietest ones. Simply sitting in silence, watching, listening and allowing nature to reveal itself in its own time. There is something deeply peaceful about this reserve. A stillness that is difficult to put into words. The landscape seems to breathe around you, while heavenly birdsong drifts through the air. For a little while, the outside world disappears and there is only the African bush, the wildlife and that extraordinary feeling of being completely present. Our experience continued at Bush Lodge, where we were welcomed for an immense lunch overlooking the sweeping valley. As we dined, we watched an ever changing collection of wildlife wander down to drink at the waterhole below. It was difficult to imagine a more perfect setting or a more beautiful way to end the day. This was far more than a game drive. It was a finely curated five star experience, delivered with warmth, knowledge and genuine care from beginning to end. Our heartfelt thanks to Lenah and to every member of the Pumba team who made our visit so special. Some places impress you. Some places enchant you. And every now and then, you find a place that leaves you just a little different from when you arrived. Pumba was that place for us."

"We stayed in Camdeboo Manor for 2 nights during which time we were the only guests in the whole estate, this gave me the opportunity to look at the other options. Courtyard Manor, Hillside, Peppertree and the Pods....the pods were very luxurious given their location but I think we made the right choice. The room and manor as a whole was gorgeous, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The gardens were just a please to relax in. The staff were all so freindly and the food was very good. If you're going to Camdeboo for Game Drives you could be dissapointed as there is a lack of sightings but they are there. What made the drive special for us was the scenery which was beautiful ....and how elephants can climb up the steep hillsides I will never know."

Met by our host - Rob - who made the check in hassle free and gave us some great tips on eating out etc. Travelling with friends and we had one room overlooking the canal and a large family room. Both spotless, comfortable and nicely appointed. Ample secure parking on site. Great location for restaurants etc. We will make sure we allow for more time at St Francis Bay on the next visit."

Although we didn't have a sea view from our room, it was a short stroll/wheel across grass to a boardwalk where we had a good view of the beach and surfers. Room and bathroom were comfortable and suitable for wheelchair. Easy access to breakfast room/verandah. Staff were friendly and helpful. Recommended."

"Stormriver Village location extremely convenient to Tsitsikamma NPark. Home down a quiet lane, in nature, secure. Owners thought of nice touches, from wash machine to dvds & soft throw blankets. Open floor plan with loft bedroom. Sound carries easily within if you are with a family. Beyond owners control, but there's roosters crowing next door in the wee hours. Big kitchen, large living/dining rooms, hot showers. Hammock & outdoor covered porch. There for 1 night."

"Simone Coetzee was a fantastic host at Gorah and Werner LeRoux was a fabulous guide. This was our 2nd visit to Gorah and the facility, accommodation and overall Safari experience was incredible. All inclusive with meals with great food, a morning and late afternoon drive and the opportunity to see animals up close as they come to the watering hole located behind the main lodge. Sleeping in the luxury tents and hearing the sounds of the night were also a highlight. Thanks so much to Simone, Werner and the lodge staff in making our 2nd visit as incredible as the first. "We stayed 1 night in a self catering chalet. Clean but dated and you could hear everything your neighbours were doing! Toilet ran all night despite maintenance and there were no blackouts so sun streamed in through internal bathroom window. There was a function on so only Joes restaurant open. Several people in our group didnt get the food they ordered and one of our meals was inedible - apparently this is what we should expect in South Africa according to the manager! Breakfast OK. Beach loverly but not suitable for swimming due to currents and surf. Cannot recommend."

"We had the most amazing time here. The staff are all friendly and helpful, the food is excellent and beds very comfy. We did the giraffe walk and also 3 game drives while we were there. Julian our guide was lovely and very knowledgeable, we got up close to the lions, giraffe, buffalo, zebra and many more. Would love to have stayed longer, unfortunately we didn’t get to see Tswale the elephant while we were there, what an amazing story he has and now he is free at this amazing game reserve. Thank you for everything"
