Schon bei der Ankunft fühlten wir uns direkt wohl. Die Umgebung ist wunderschön mit Blick auf den indischen Ozean. Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und haben tolle Tipps für Unternehmungen. Auch das Personal war durchwegs aufmerksam. Sowohl das Frühstück als auch das Abendessen war liebevoll hergerichtet, frisch und geschmacklich und qualitativ hochwertig. Unser Zimmer war gut ausgestattet, sauber und stilvoll eingerichtet. Mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Die Betten waren bequem und der Ausblick fantastisch. Ein Highlight waren natürlich die Zebras, die sich frei auf dem Gelände bewegen. Aktuell 22 Stück. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Our stay at the Zebra Lodge was an exceptional experience. A beautifully located, small, and family-run lodge in the middle of a park with free-roaming zebras, perfect for enjoying both sunrise and sunset. The zebra reception committee is unique. Our suite was very spacious, tastefully decorated, and perfectly equipped. The dinner, which must be reserved in advance, was excellent and highly recommended.

Auf quasi halber Strecke zwischen PE und Plettenberg Bay liegt unweit der N2 die J-Bay Zebra Lodge von einem schweizer Ehepaar. Ausgezeichnet als B&B ist Abendessen im Restaurant (Rückmeldung bis 14 Uhr; wir würden empfehlen nachzufragen, was es gibt, weil es keine Menüauswahl gibt und man im Zweifel kalt überrascht wird) und Frühstück möglich. Wir hatten ein reetgedecktes Haus als Schlafquartier und wurden zur Begrüßung direkt von drei Zebras auf der Terrasse empfangen, die ansonsten mit ihren anderen Verwandten auf der weitläufigen Lodge frei herumlaufen können. Durch die unverbaute Hanglage ist nicht nur ein Blick bis zur Bucht von Jeffries Bay möglich sondern auch Sonnenauf- bzw. -untergänge gut zu beobachten.

Wonderful stay, zebras are all over the place, also in front of your windoe when you wake up in the morning. Florbela and Didier are wonderful hosts, the staff is great, the beds are comfy and the food is delicious. We will definitely come back again.

On arrival we were amazed at the beautiful design and decor of the main building as well as the presence of the zebras grazing so close to us as we got out of our car. The hosts, Didier and Florbella, were lovely and made sure we were well looked after. The resident chefs made delicious breakfasts each morning and the food in the evening was so good we ate in for the three nights we stayed there. Our “tent”, which was really a hut with canvas walls and a thatched roof, was great - very clean and well appointed; glamping rather than camping! From our balcony we were able to see 2 giraffes on the other side of the valley too. We particularly enjoyed the free-roaming zebras, and how close they came to the building, while still being essentially wild animals. Altogether, a unique experience; one not to be missed!

Wow what a superb repeat stay at this wonderful property. Very relaxing, excellent views with some zebra adding to the experience. Tasty food, great wines and very attentive staff. So looking forward to staying again when we return to South Africa. Thanks for the wonderful stay.

Wow, So enjoyed our one night stay at Zebra Lodge, an amazing experience. As we were shown into our room we were welcomed by Zebras peering into our room, great experience. Our room was beautifully appointed and have lovely views looking out to the Ocean in the distance. Bed most comfortable, linen lovely. Ample size with leisure seating, we really felt relaxed. Had supper, which was enjoyable and well prepared. Host Florbela, most hospitable. Breakfast the next morning was also very enjoyable and attending staff were very friendly and have to say well trained. All in all a most enjoyable experience and can recommend that one should visit Zebra Lodge.

Nature, colours, food, the wonderful tent and restaurant, the staff, and, of course, the owners, so gentle and professional. We recommend everybody to stay in this dream, is perfect to relax your mind, your body and your soul!
