The room and breakfast met our expectations. The room was clean - the bathroom was a bit cramped. The spa was good - a bit slippery tiles outside.
BUT: When we checked in we were told that the lift had broken down and that no repairs would be carried out over the weekend. We, both not very young anymore, had our room on the 4th floor. We were offered help carrying our suitcases, but the staircase had some pretty criminally narrow, short steps on one floor - not exactly ideal.
I also noticed that the call button panel had been removed from the lift on all floors. The floor display on the ground floor is missing, also removed. The whole thing did not look like the lift had broken down for a short time - a sign would have been enough, or at most the main switch could have been turned off. I suspect that the lift had been broken for a while and will it remain so for a while?
When we left, another guest told us that there was still a working staff lift. We were probably deliberately not told about this. I find this an imposition.
I assume that it was not the receptionist's fault - she probably had her instructions.
The hotel description could have clearly shown that the PP costs CHF 6 per day and that the tourist tax is also collected directly at the hotel. Maybe it is written somewhere - but then it is easy to overlook.
All in all, the price was quite high - probably within the usual range for Weggis.
