Post Hotel Weggis

The review on this website is definitely false as is the photo which shows the Schweizerhof! The hotel is dated, grimy, filthy and neglected - as are the staff. Although they were friendly, they did not speak German and looked as if they hadn´t slept or showered in days. The rooms have almost no light, the carpets are old and stained, the sheets were wrinkled - were they clean? Hard to know. The breakfast was unappetising and the toilets in the breakfast area were disgusting. This is one of the very worst places I have ever stayed. If only people would write genuine reviews, then one could avoid such pitfalls :(

Half of the hotel facilitites has a sign "not working", gym is half broken, internet in rooms are not working, only works in the reception area, as soon as you enter your room, it does not work. Paying 767 euro for 2 nights for this standard, what is going on???

this year too we returned to this hotel on our way back from Zurich and we were surprised to discover that there is a new management, rooms clean and comfortable with a wonderful view like always ,exceptional cuisine congratulations Chef!!! good breakfast but not too much choice, aperitif at sunset on the terrace always magical, compliments to the new management for the improvements we will return

My stay at Post Hotel Weggis was terrible...we stayed for 2 nights on June 22 - 24 (2 rooms). I had booked the Comfort Twin Room (lake view) and Deluxe Double Room (lake view)...and was surprised to note that both rooms were identical, though I was charged extra for the Deluxe!! Further, in the Deluxe Room, we were missing a curtain on the bathroom (glass) wall, besides the towels being torn (like a rat has eaten them) and the trash can missing a lid...see pics!! When we complained to the hotel (front desk) staff...all they said was to apply for a refund. I enquired to meet the hotel management and were told being a weekend, they will not be available. The towels were replaced, but the trash can was not, nor a curtain fixed to our bathroom wall!! Overall a horrible stay / experience and will NOT recommend this hotel. Other than the location, this hotel has NOTHING to offer.

It was my 1st day stay in Switzerland. Stayed here with by wife and 2 kids for 2 nights. Old heritage Hotel but very well maintained and updated. Neat and Clean Room with all modern amenities and fantastic view of massive and beautiful Lake across the road. Washrooms were neat and tidy. Supportive Staff which took care of us. Breakfast was fresh and refreshing. Right behind the Hotel there is an old Church (Pfarrkirche St. Maria Weggis) from which regular hourly bells keeps you enchanting. Took day Cruize to Lucerne and back to Weggis. Boarding Cruise is quite convenient as it starts from right across the Hotel.

Terrible * 3! should have read some google reviews before booking this hotel. This is the worst hotel i ever stayed in my entire life. Not exaggerating a tiny bit. for the record i travel a lot for leisure and work (usually 50-60nights per year). we booked the comfort room with lake view. First of all, the elevator was broken; looks like it was broken a while ago by reading all the reviews. guess they wanted us to do some cardio with heavy lifting the luggages. I’m actually not angry about this with all Gelatos i ate during my trip. During checking in, we were asked to pay everything upfront. it is little bit weird but okay. usually, in other hotels, hotel put an authorization on the credit card, and bill the final charges at end. guess this hotel is different. After we check in, we found out the room has no A.C in 30 degrees summer. And apparently no A.C stands for “comfort” so that you can enjoy the sweat in this weather. We called the front desk, front desk told us we have to pay to upgrade the room to third floor to have A.C. After the cardio with the broken elevator, i guess i have suck it up and decided to pay. HOWEVER, when i ask can i get room key for the A.C room first so that i can transfer my luggage, the supervisor said no, i have to come downstairs to pay first. i was like “????? it is only 20 CHF, i’ve paid ~300 per night, can i just transfer my luggage first”. She demanded that is the rule and refused my request, Imagine with all the luggages. Super unhappy, and decided to shorten our stay at this hotel given the fact i booked the flexible fees. the supervisor Jennifer us literally told us “sure, but no refund” LOLed, i asked the reason , again the rule. Super shady practices. please avoid at all the costs
