Boutique Hotel am Stephansplatz

Don't let the small lobby fool you, this is one of the best hotels in Vienna which is saying something based on how expensive and luxurious Vienna can be. Everything is clean and modern and we had great service from all aspects (check in/out, baggage, service, etc.). The breakfast (if paid to be included) is one of the best we've had for continental breakfast at a hotel (barely considered continental as there are many hot items and a few items you can actually order, etc.). Rooms are a great size for a large city hotel, with a good size bathroom (although shower is a little odd as a corner shower on a lifted platform, there is no major faults in it other than a weird issue where the temperature of the water wasn't consistent; it was steady warm then would get a random jet of very warm then get back to normal but not enough to hurt the experience). But the major thing with this hotel is that it is the best located hotel I've ever stayed in and it would be nearly impossible to ever beat it. We paid slightly extra to get a view of the cathedral, which is beautiful and one of the best looking cathedrals I've ever seen. Beyond that, it is a central square with thousands of people, but you barely hear anything from the room (we were on the 6th floor on the side of the square). Needless to say, there are hundreds of shopping, and restaurant options, along with great places to walk around, convenience stores, etc. There is also a somewhat major subway stop right outside the hotel. We had a bit of rain the last two days and with how close we were to public transit, along to how central the hotel is, it did not slow us down from visiting Vienna as needed. You are paying more than a standard hotel, and it is definitely not a 10/10 with regards of luxury, but it is definitely a 8-9/10 luxury and 10/10 for the location. If you can afford to pay a little more, you are going to get a lot more with this hotel.

This boutique hotel is in a perfect location right in the centre of the inner city of Vienna in walking distance to most of the sights. Situated right on Stephansplatz you walk out of the hotel right in to the heart of the old city centre. There’s a metro station 2 minutes walk away if required and taxis can pick up or drop off at the door. Despite the central location, the hotel is very quiet as triple glazed windows effectively keep the rooms quiet and the surrounding streets are mostly pedestrianised. Many of the rooms look out onto Stephansplatz and it’s amazing cathedral - what a view! The hotel and interiors are of a modern high quality design. Service at the reception and at breakfast was excellent. Breakfast was a comprehensive combination of hot and cold buffet and cooked to order dishes served overlooking the cathedral and square. The central location pushes up the price but it was worth it.

Loved all aspects of the hotel. Staff - hospitable, location – central, breakfast – very high-quality, housekeeping – invisible and very good, services – excellent as we had a small issue with our Vienna Pass that the front desk resolved. A small note to the management. I am surprised that you had no English movies or entertainment in English. Watching nonstop news could get repetitive after a while. That’s sad, this is a great boutique hotel. Easy transfer to and from the airport as well. They dropped us off right at the front door. Job well done. BTW – the coffee is great.
