The food was amazing. We eat out a lot and I was very impressed. We had sirloin beef with potatoes and caramel sauce infused with gin, then semifreddo and tiramisu for dessert. Couldn’t fault it Service was fantastic, all waiting staff attentive Just a shame they don’t serve beers so we just stuck with water

One of those places you hesitate to write a review about because you don’t want the word to get out! We decided to splurge on this hotel and stayed in their deluxe suite for close to $500 a night and all said and done, it was an incredible deal for the actual experience. A stunning hotel with a small but excellent bar with chairs outside facing the canal, a beautiful garden where you can have breakfast and a gorgeous restaurant (we did not have a chance to eat there but the setting was beautiful). The main thing to know is how excellent the service was, with the main reception person being incredibly helpful and professional. We got great recommendations for restaurants. The deluxe room on the first floor facing the canal is incredible. Views are amazing, ceilings are incredibly high, every detail is beautifully done. If you splurge on a water taxi from Marco Polo airport, it drops you off right in front of the hotel and the experience was incredible. A very decent pizza restaurant right next to the hotel where you can eat on the water, which was great for our first night when we arrived and we were tired. We loved staying in Dorsoduro, which is the area where this hotel is located– more residential and less crowded and touristy. Cannot wait for the next time we get to go back. Thank you for everything.

Just spent four nights at this beautiful hotel in mid-November. We absolutely loved our stay at Il Palazzo Experimental. I think every part of our experience met or exceeded our expectations. The staff was welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. We booked through Mr. and Mrs. Smith and were welcomed with a free cocktail in their amazing Experimental Cocktail Club (even if you're not staying in the hotel, you should come here for a drink, more on this later). The hotel is in an excellent location. Right on a larger canal, with lots of restaurants and bars along the water. This area felt a bit touristy (but not in a bad way). But if you head into the city you find yourself in a quiet but active neighborhood with great restaurants, bars, shops, etc. We really enjoyed walking around the neighborhood near the hotel, as it was much less hectic than the center area around San Marco's. But you're still a close walk to the center and all the main tourist attractions. We booked a canal view room and it was 100% worth it. We loved looking out at the water in the mornings and evenings. The room itself was very spacious, with a nice couch and a comfortable king sized bed. If I had one (tiny) complaint it was that the pillows were extremely firm - to the point of being hard. The room had a beautiful bathroom with a large tub and shower. Separate sinks are a luxury you don't always see in small European hotels, so that was a nice touch as well. We did have a light breakfast in the hotel two mornings. Everything was delicious - fantastic coffee and wonderful pastries. While there are some excellent places nearby to get a breakfast on the go, it was nice to have a slow morning in the hotel restaurant, which has a very fun and funky vibe while still being very classy. The Experimental Cocktail Club was without a doubt a highlight of our stay. Had drinks there 3 of the 4 nights we spent. They make some of the most innovative cocktails I've seen anywhere in the world, and it's worth stepping out of your comfort zone a bit and trusting their genius. And I have to shout out the menu, which is an incredible work of art in and of itself. The staff here in the bar were among the best I experienced anywhere in Venice - they truly take pride in what they do and I would strongly encourage you to come enjoy an evening here (even if you're not staying in the hotel). And don't skip the food menu - the small bites were stellar! All in all, we loved our stay at Il Palazzo Experimental and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place that's close to highlights of Venice, while being just far enough removed to be an oasis away from the chaos.

This is a stunning hotel in a beautiful and peaceful location, with an easy walk to the main attractions. Our rooms were very comfortable, contemporary, and well-equipped. The cocktail bar and outdoor seating area provided the perfect spot for a pre-dinner aperitif. The staff were incredibly helpful, assisting with the arrangement of water taxis and handling our luggage with care. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.

We stayed two nights as a family of four (two teenagers) in two rooms in March. We choose to stop in Venice on our way back from a week skiing in the Dolomites and then off to Florence to wrap up our spring break trip. We booked the higher category of rooms for the views and they were great. In Venice the rooms are not large, we have stayed at the Gritti on our last trip and that is a totally different class of hotel but the rooms are again on the small side as well. For this trip I think we made the right call because the hotel was great. Breakfast while not included in our stay was terrific. The cocktails were extraordinary. Taking an afternoon aperitif in the garden over looking the gondolas and boats go by was magical. We went to see the Vivaldi performance close to the hotel in a church and it was definitely a highlight. The hotel helped to obtain tickets. I loved the neighborhood it was a short walk to all of the main attractions. The Fortuny museum is a must along. Dinner at AlCovo was worth the 30 min walk. All of the hotels restaurant recs were fabulous. The design of the hotel was modern great use of color palates in each room. From the terrazzo floors in the bathroom to the room entry doors I lived the aesthetic. If you’re searching for a traditional Venetian experience this is not it. This is better !
