"The best thing about this resort is its location. Right on the cliff adjacent to the sea.. just a few steps to the beach. A small pool which is good for kids and people who don't know how to swim. The rooms are not worth the price. Service is not good. The room doesn't even have a phone to contact the reception. They gave a mobile number.. mostly no one picks the call.. The breakfast is just average.. any two dishes and curry, bread butter jam, cornflakes, boiled egg, tea coffee.. that's it.. for which sometimes you have to wait for a long time.."

"It's not common I have so many things to say about a 2 nights stay. First the place is well located even if not so close to the beach as you have to walk further to go down from the cliff. Rooms buildings are nice, rooms are spacious enough and the balcony very Cosy. But the management is careless. Here a list a few things happening within those 2 days : - on the way, Google maps gave us the way through a dead-end alley. We called the hotel to know which way we should take, they ask us to text them on whatsapp to get the proper location. We did accordingly but we never got any answer. They call us back, not to help us but to ask our reservation number. -at arrival, they said they have problem because I didn't do the pre payment they were asking for by message under on my confirmed booked room. What's the point to use booking if you have to go to another website to pay in advance?? -they ask me to cancel my reservation on booking even if it was indicate I will be charged for the cancellation (as the hotel do not allow to cancel for free) to pay directly with them. - don't expect the staff to help you with your luggage. Even it is not mandatory it is always appreciate. -at arrival in the room, a information paper is there. You will be aware of all extra cost hotel will charge you if you want them the change the bedding, if you change the lock of the room, etc. But don't expect useful information on breakfast time, wifi password,... -I text them on WhatsApp for a question, but the answer was "I'm not on site ! Message this number xxxxxxxx" (yet it is the number of the hotel) - linens and pillows were smelling sweat. Either not changed before our arrival either not properly cleaned. They changed it, and then it was better. - in the morning, without information on breakfast, we went to the reception at 8:30. Nobody was there. Not only at reception in fact, there were no staff nowhere. We left the hotel without the include breakfast. -at 12 we came back, they gave us ticket for breakfast saying they couldn't find us earlier. and tell us we can go to the restaurant (the breakfast happen in "Sun Franscico" restaurant nearby) this same day for lunch or dinner. -We went to "Sun Franscico" explaining the situation. They said they were aware and ok for dinner. We took the menu and sat. We were the only customer and there was 5 staff. We kindly waited 30 min for someone to come take our order, after what we decide to leave. Honestly, at that point I started to be furious ! Later on the hotel staff came to me on whatsapp to apology once again... But it's too much !! At the end I ask for refund of the breakfast for the 2 days, and a small extend of check-out time (12 instead of 11) and they accept both. But at the end, I had the feeling I'm not welcome there. My mistake is I pay the 2 nights when I arrived, because they ask for. Even that is weird. Otherwise I would have paid my night and run away of this place!) At the end my experience matched all the b"

"Absolutely disappointing in all sense . The staff is utter un hygenic- dining area staff were putting their hands in their mounts and we ended up stopping them to serve us. Elevator and reception area totally stinking. Cafeteria has all toilet smell. Looks Completely non trained/ local / cheap labor is filled as a staff . In heavy rain they don’t have single umbrella. Food is below average Property location is beautiful but not maintained and even beach is full of mess of plastic bottles etc Don’t know who gave them such rating."

"My experience during the stay was extremely pathetic 1. Reception counter was most of time empty , Linen was dirty inside the room. 2 No Intercom Facility 3. We had to search a person everytime to provide water 4. There is no restaurant and no proper place to eat. We had to order food from Zomato. Moreover No Buffet Breakfast. The only Breakfast they had was omelette , Water Melon, Cold Sambha and small cold dosas. One should order one thing at a time, otherwise they bring all items after making you wait for an hour. 5. Jhoola / Swing was broken. 6. During Power cut off, the staff had to be searched in the whole property to switch on the generator, 7. Overgrown grass in the lawn, no place to walk. 8 And Sorry, no good views from the property. Absolutely waste of time and money. Not recommended at all . Visit and Explore at your own risk"

"Very bad hotels. Made to feel very unwelcome by reception as soon as we entered. No greeting just grabbed room keys and showed us room keys No towels in room. One room tv did not work and they couldn't fix it. My room no tv was there. I went for a walk and found exlir cliff main hotel got more information from gate security than from reception in our hotel was told about high tea which we were not made aware of. Asked for manager who wouldn't come to hotel until I demanded. His name Arun, very rude and arrogant would not listen to me blamed booking agent for everything until I said booking agent not uncharged of hotel, tv, towels etc. Did not offer any appology but walked away as I was speaking. Will never stay at this hotel again did not feel comfortable or welcome. Everytime I went to reception made to feel like I was troubling them. Breakfast at main hotel Exlir Cliff worst we had on whole tour got a better Breakfast on houseboat. Way to beach very dangerous but a guest from another hotel showed us an easier way to get back Hotel Luca. Don't waste your money sure there are better hotels."

"The hotel is new and clean. There is no point in posting photos, because all the photos on tripcom are true. All the furniture is new and in excellent condition. Air conditioners, fans - everything works. There is also hot water, you need to wait a little until it drains. There is a refrigerator (new, odorless), an electric kettle, a TV (we did not turn it on, we do not know if it works or not). Soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, shampoo are provided upon check-in. All this in small format. The service in the hotel is no worse than in Europe. They helped with any issue that arose. We have not seen such an attitude towards tourists for a long time. We have been traveling around Asia for 8 years, we have something to compare with. This hotel is the best of those we have been to. It is far from the beaches. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the nearest beach. But if you take a moped, there should be no problems. The hotel has a parking lot. And 24-hour security. We arrived at the hotel very early, check-in was done without extra charge for early check-in. Breakfast: vegetarian buffet. Our rating for the hotel and its staff is 10 out of 10!"

"This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with any accommodation. Mellow Hostel in Varkala is completely mismanaged and highly unprofessional. Firstly we were made to pay the whole amount even before we could check the rooms we were to be assigned The room they gave us was in terrible condition — the AC didn’t work, there was not even a fan, and the room was absolutely unlivable in the heat. The room does not have any ventilation nor proper lighting. Despite raising this immediately, the staff was extremely non-cooperative and showed no interest in resolving the issue or offering an alternative. We had to chase around them half the day to even get the managers number. We had no choice but to leave, and the staff clearly promised a refund. Even though we barely stayed for 3hours we were told we'll only be given half the refund of what we had paid. However, they never returned the money and stopped responding to our follow-ups. This is nothing short of dishonest behavior. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone as in the summer months it's impossible to stay in such a nuance."
