InDa Hotel ★★★
"cozy place with good food. Good breakfast options. "
Gateway Varkala - Ihcl SeleQtions ★★★★★
"Loved our stay! The location is super convenient and the view is relaxing but what stood out is the team who would go extra mile to make your stay comfortable. A special shout out to Sudeep, Shruthi & Mithila. The kids enjoyed the pool and painting activities. Will definitely recommend."
Omvilla ★★★
"A very good owner, he will advise you on everything, help you with money exchange, and will accommodate you with small requests!"
Deshadan Cliff & Beach Resort,Varkala ★★★
"Had a good time there at deshadan on May 2025. The rooms were compact but lacked refrigerators and lockers. The restroom was neat and of adequate size. Complimentary breakfast was nice and decent but no space at peak hour. The staffs were friendly and polite."
West Bay MARISOL ★★★
Aloha Homestay ★★
"very clean and peaceful environment, just 5 min walk to verkala beach"
Grand Residency & Resort ★★
"I had a wonderful stay at Grand Residency Resort Hotel in Varkala. The hotel manager was exceptional—always helpful and went out of his way to ensure a great experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was a highlight, with a fantastic selection of delicious options. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Varkala!"
The Sanctum Spring Beach Resort ★★★
"If you’re looking for a retreat to unwind and rejuvenate, Sanctum Spring Resort is the perfect choice. We left feeling completely relaxed and refreshed."
Hindustan Beach Retreat ★★★★
"This a nice place to spend time with family. You can see from your window seat. Which we liked a lot. From hotel it's 2 minutes distance. Rooftop resturent is a added advantage which makes our stay more pleasant. We also enjoy the swimming pool. Even kids have 1. 5 feet hight swimming pool. Breakfast was nice. Food quality is average."

Sun View Beach Resort
"The best thing about this resort is its location. Right on the cliff adjacent to the sea.. just a few steps to the beach. A small pool which is good for kids and people who don't know how to swim. The rooms are not worth the price. Service is not good. The room doesn't even have a phone to contact the reception. They gave a mobile number.. mostly no one picks the call.. The breakfast is just average.. any two dishes and curry, bread butter jam, cornflakes, boiled egg, tea coffee.. that's it.. for which sometimes you have to wait for a long time.."
The Village
"Horrible experience with this hotel. They denied us room at 6:30 PM and the staff misbehaved. They did not even contact us before denying us the room, we booked 20 days in advance. They could have provided us with the next available room but the greedy management asked us for money or asked us to leave the property as if we are beggars. Strict action should be taken against the property as guest from all over the country might face the same issue again."
Sajjoys
"Stayed here recently for 4 nights with a friend as part of a bigger group trip. It was such a lovely hotel, so beautiful inside. The room was really spacious with loads of room and great to have a fridge in there to store drinks. Good bathroom with decent water pressure. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. Buffet breakfast was delicious with a good variety of Indian and western food, lots of fresh fruit, cereal, the french toast was delicious, and egg station, definitely recommend an all in omelette. They offer massage services, had a lovely full body massage. And a small gym upstairs which is great for a workout, only small con with the gym is no Aircon or fan in there and it was very hot! Location wise it was great as well, only 2 mins walk round the corner to get to the helipad by the beach steps and start of the shops and restaurants. And always tuk tuks going past to flag one down if needed. If I ever come back to Varkala I will definitely stay here again!"
Rachana's Black Beach Resort
"We had a bad experience. The room had a bad smell; at the very least, they could have sprayed a room freshener before we arrived. The privacy was also poor. The curtains on the windows were not properly arranged, and outsiders could clearly see into our room. As for the bathroom, it did not have a floor mat, and the water filling the toilet flush tank was very slow, so I had to manually fill it myself."
Elixir Cliff Beach Resort and Spa
"Stayed from 30th to 31st January 2025. The hotel’s 5-star claim is laughable—it barely deserves 1 star, and that’s only for breakfast and high tea. Here’s why: 1. Abysmal Service (0 Stars): Service was agonizingly slow. Reported a dirty bathroom, and the receptionist just smiled and left—no action, no apology. 2. Terrible Rooms & Maintenance (0 Stars): Outdated furniture, wobbly fans that felt like they’d fall, and broken locks. The so-called 'sea view' is just a distant glimpse. A proper view requires descending a steep, unsafe path that’s hazardous for seniors. 3. Filthy Bathrooms (0 Stars): Stained toilets—clearly uncleaned before our stay. Hot water required repeated calls and staff 'jugaad' to work. 4. Rude, Clueless Staff (0 Stars): At check-in, they falsely claimed our payment wasn’t received and made us resolve it with Dream Holidays instead of verifying themselves. Staff were arrogant, untrained, and unprofessional. 5. Overpriced, Tasteless Food (⭐): ₹200 for a basic fruit salad without ice cream—ridiculously overpriced. The only highlights: a decent breakfast spread and complimentary high tea (tea with biscuits and pakodas). Final Verdict: This hotel is a scam hiding behind a 5-star label. It offers only disappointment—from service to rooms to staff behavior. **Overall Rating: ⭐⭐ (1 Star)—More than they deserve!"
Akshay Beach Resort
"Amazing location...just a few walks away from the beach...the rooms are spacious and neat...The room service could've been improved...Rest everything was good... Trip.com was helpful with the support they offered instantly as I had an issue with check in. Rest everything was great."
Villa Luca by Elixir Cliff
"Great place to stay. Clean and well maintained property with a lovely pool. The views from this place are breathtaking. Staff is very welcoming and helpful. Big thanks to Nandhan for making our stay incredible. :)"
Zostel Varkala
"Food is not good and baggage carrying to room facility is not there. At night someone knock my door two times when i came out no body is there. Although zostel is giving environment of hostel life but it is not good for couples at least."
Happy Land
"Fantastic location - just a short tuk tuk ride from the train station and a couple of minute walk ***** the cliff with stairs to the beach very close by. The guesthouse is tucked away down a cute alley and as you come out of it you are surrounded by bars and shops on either side with a gorgeous view out over the beach. We stayed in one of the bottom rooms, as we were told it was a little cooler, and found the temperature to be comfortable, especially with the decent fan. The room was clean with comfy pillows and free WiFi. Our host was lovely and welcoming. He spoke fantastic English so we chatted for a while. He was really helpful in letting us know where to eat and which ATM would provide the best rates, even offering to drive us there. On the day we left, we had a few hours before the train so he let us check out late for free and then leave our bags in his room so we didn't have to carry them around with us. A great stay in Varkala!"
Aryavilla Heritage
"Beautiful Hestay with scenic view just 75m away of sea from cliff. The manager of Aryavilla Mr Mohammad was exceptional wirh his personal touch as far as addressing minor ossues with regard to stay."
