The location is good and the hotel is just fine. Need some renovation around the path leading to beach. Many opt for this location for ease of access to beaches, if that is not maintained it will lead to disappointment.
The SPA is not per the expectation and the maintenance of the spa is very bad. Food is above average. The buffet breakfast is fine but lacks variety for those staying longer. Overall it was a good experience. The attender at the pool Mr. Babu is very good, he should be awarded for his fine service. Overall the hotel staff are polite and well mannered and hear to our concerns.

Excellent Hotel with excellent services. The managers and staffs kept us very comfortable and most importantly accommodated to our toddlers meals during the stay. Very beautiful view as very peaceful hotel!

We had a pleasant stay at Gateway Varkala. We were welcomed well, and staff was very friendly and courteous throughout the stay. Rooms were well maintained, and the pool was also good. We were at Varkala to celebrate a birthday, and I requested for a birthday cake. They not only made us a cake in a short notice but also decorated our rooms to our pleasant surprise. I really appreciate the effort put in by the entire staff. The beach is a 5 to 10 minutes' walk from the hotel, there is a trail leading to the beach if you walk down the stairs from the garden area. The trail itself is beautiful with a brook flowing by its side and some canopies for shade. It may not be that ideal when it gets dark though. The food at the restaurant could have been better. Breakfast could have had a few more choices, and the signature dishes preparation could have been a bit better. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would recommend Gateway Varkala to people looking for a good place to stay near Varkala beach.

Staff , location, position and Spa super. In two min you reach the beach and in 5 min you are in Varkala Cliff with a fantastic view of the sunset. Pool big and clean. Good food . Very nice people always available to help you for any kind of request

We had a wonderful stay at Taj Varkala. The property has comfortable rooms and a great staff. Dharmesh the General manager is personally involved and made the stay much more comfortable and special. Sudeep the security consultant was also very helpful
