"This hotel is absolutely outrageous. We arrived on the island at 2 PM and reached the hotel at 2:50 PM. Upon arrival, we found the entrance door was broken and wouldn't open. The butler said it would be fixed in 20 minutes and left us at the outdoor bar. After waiting 20 minutes, we asked again when it would be fixed. They said another 20 minutes. So we walked inside to wait. After another 20 minutes, they said yet another 20 minutes. We finally checked in at 4:40 PM. During this time, we asked if we could go to our room to rest, assuring them it wouldn't interfere with their door repairs, but they said no, we had to wait. When we asked if there was anywhere to change clothes or freshen up, they said no, we just had to keep waiting. The butler, seemingly apologetic, proactively booked a 6:20 PM pickup for us to watch the sunset. At 6:25 PM, no one came to pick us up. I messaged her asking if she was coming, but she didn't reply. We ended up finding a buggy ourselves and left. She only replied at 6:36 PM. The toilet kept making noise all day, and when I asked her about it, she didn't respond. She only replied after I managed to fix it myself. In the evening, I called reception for a buggy. After 20 minutes with no response, I messaged the butler again. She said she would come pick us up. After another 10 minutes with no response, we just gave up on going out to eat. That day, she had told us to contact her directly for anything to avoid reception being too busy. So, the next morning at 9:50 AM, I messaged her to ask about breakfast. After 20 minutes, I asked her to have breakfast delivered to our room. She only replied 40 minutes later, telling me to call the restaurant myself to order breakfast. By the time we got to the restaurant, it was 11 AM. We had waited over an hour. By this point, I was very uncomfortable, so I requested a change of butler. We had even given the original butler a $20 tip when we met. In the afternoon, the manager came to offer compensation – a spa treatment or dinner. Honestly, I didn't want either, but chose dinner. To be fair, the dinner was delicious, and the service was excellent. Their restaurant staff provides genuinely good service. The next morning, we checked out, and here comes another complaint. Before check-in, I received an email stating our departure from the island would be at 9:50 AM, with check-out 50 minutes prior. So, we woke up very early. We checked out at 8:40 AM. Only after checking out were we told that departure was at 10:50 AM. I asked them if the email hadn't said 9:50 AM. They then claimed 9:50 AM was for luggage collection, which is ridiculous. We waited in the lobby for over two hours and weren't allowed back to our room. We had left 20,000 Thai Baht in the room. No one contacted us for two hours. They only contacted us when we arrived at the airport, saying they had found it. Then, the new butler also started not replying to messages. I contacted Trip.com to help me get my money back. Trip.com took two days to reach them. To this day, the money has not been refunded. The entire process made me extremely uncomfortable. Trip.com contacted the hotel, and the hotel kept saying they were transferring the money to me. After a week, they suddenly said they wouldn't transfer it. This hotel is beyond belief. The only positive is that it's genuinely beautiful. Every photo you take looks great. For anyone planning to go, be prepared. One night there is more than enough for me. If you're not rushing for a flight the next day, you can arrange a later departure from the island. No need to stay two nights."
