Don Carlo Tropea

Great location and great breakfast, would highly recommend 😊

We spent 2 weeks traveling through Southern Italy to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We saw Puglia, Basilicata and Calabria. We added an additional night to stay at The Don Carlo Tropea. This was the best place we stayed the entire vacation. We spent 3 nights here. Karina and Carlo are wonderful people that own property. We stayed in room 102 (they have 3 rooms available) and also utilized the private garage parking on site (your won't find parking like this available anywhere in the historic center of Tropea) The breakfast was so delicious, prepared to order by Karina, best breakfast we had in 2 weeks. The location is perfectly situated near popular piazzas with many locations for food and drinks steps from the front door. The beaches are a few minutes walk, the church and other sites are equally as close. TLDR - don't waste your time looking for somewhere great to stay in Tropea, this is the place. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Don Carlo, a charming hotel right in the heart of Tropea. The cozy atmosphere, warm hospitality, and beautiful setting make it the perfect home base. Karina is the sweetest, most genuine person. It’s very evident that she puts her heart and soul into everything she does. Do not sleep on her restaurant recommendations. Everywhere we went was on her list and every meal was incredible. I am so grateful for this comfortable and authentic place that truly feels like a home away from home. It is the only place I would stay when I return to Tropea.

I would highly recommend this place to stay. Location is central, it’s very clean and the owners Karina and husband Carlo were most charming , helpful and so friendly. Karina is a gem and her breakfast was delicious, all home made by her. They were fantastic hosts and made our stay very memorable.

Firstly, our hosts were the most friendly and beautiful people you could ever meet. Nothing was too much trouble. We were contacted before arrival so that a proper welcome could be timed to perfection. The welcome drink made it so so special also. We were made to feel like it was our home for the duration of the stay. The breakfast was freshly prepared and beautiful served. On the last day, we had an early departure and a breakfast pack was delivered to outside our room. In a lovely present bag. The accommodation was very secure yet homely. You can tell it is family orientated environment by the way we were welcome d. Our room was kept well stocked with all the home comforts, including a courtesy beach basket filled with essentials. Everything was very clean. Thank you Katrina and Carlos for a very happy stay.
