"Quaint place for getting away from it all. The mountains reminded me of the Smokey Mountains. It was all green with a couple sprinklings of small villages out in the distance. That's it. All nature. Quiet. It's quite a large spread but with only 12 rooms. Everyone faces the mountains and has either a deck or patio to enjoy the outdoor scenery. There is a good spread of food for breakfast but you can also order other food. Dinners are laid back and never in a hurry. The cook will inform you what is available that, even though there is a menu. In the meantime, you can have a drink and enjoy the view while she prepares the meal. They'll let you know when it's ready. That's the kind of casual family owned business it is. I placed our reservation through ******* and it was hard to find. ******* only listed Vlachokerasia as the address which is actually the name of the village. You have to watch for signs posted on the buildings to find the hotel. Eventually you get on a one lane asphalt road and think you're heading out in country but then it pops up. We had to ask the locals for directions. Some boys biked to the road we needed to find. As we thanked them, one said, "We hope you like our little village." Yes, we did. We'll always remember that line. We'll always remember this hotel and village because it was so unique."

"The staff -as well as the animals of the farm- made us feel extremely welcome! Breakfast was hands-down the best that we ever had in any accommodation. The room was immaculately clean and very cozy. Ideal for a quality rest away from overly-touristic places and a short drive from Athens. Within 15' minutes one can reach Mainalo mountain and go for hike in the menalon-trail. What makes this accommodation truly unique are the experiences it offers on its premises. Over our weekend, we learned how to make homemade pasta and focaccia. On top of that, we had the chance to savor mouthwatering dishes made with ingredients harvested the very same day from their organic farm!"
