Pendley Manor ★★★★

"Booked last minute as a birthday treat to myself, and the hotel upgraded my room, left a treat and a birthday card actually signed! Service was excellent, room gorgeous, pool very relaxing and the most amazing breakfast with so much choice. Surrounding area lovely to explore in the autumn."

Premier Inn Tring ★★★

"The terrific receptionist who I spoke to on the phone the day before arranged a quiet room with a view over the countryside for us. It was a real pleasure to meet her on arrival. This was the first time we'd tried Premier Plus and will certainly do so again. The room was fine and there was plenty of hot water to have a good soak in the bath with pleasantly scented toiletries. I would have given a 5 star review if not for: - The bed, while very comfortable was very bouncy so I was constantly woken up… the aircon/heating hummed so we turned it off, but then it felt hot and airless & the windows don’t open. - Everything looked spotless until I got in the bath which gave me a perfect view of mould at the base of the shower screen (only visible while in the bathtub so easy to miss.) Worth knowing there are no flannels provided, but it was great to have a little fridge with a couple of bottles of water. We also appreciated the tea selection, the coffee pods & bars of chocolate! I’d certainly stay again but would bring ear plugs and perhaps go for twin beds?"

The Greyhound Wigginton ★★★

"We stayed in Room 5 at The Greyhound for nearly a week whilst having building work at our home. It’s a lovely front facing room, large and spacious! Despite being at the front on the road, it was surprisingly quiet! Beautifully decorated with some original features. Separate entrance so didn’t have to go through the pub if we didn’t want to. The pub staff were extremely efficient and friendly. The menu for evening meal was large and varied - the food delicious!!! They don’t serve breakfast at the pub but there is a lovely community shop/cafe behind it which did lovely breakfast choices. Would definitely stay again!"
