Uga Jungle Beach - Trincomalee

Not great value for money. Lovely staff, average food, overcharged for washing. 30 mins out of Trincomale, not much around the resort itself. Small pool. We rented a beach cabin which was good but not value for money compared to the other places we have stayed in our 3 weeks in Sri Lanka. Would avoid if repeating our trip ( the only place we would say that about). Lovely staff. The beach is great.

Our stay at this hotel was nothing short of extraordinary! Nestled seamlessly into the untouched natural landscape, it creates a true oasis for both native wildlife and guests alike—making it an absolute paradise for bird watchers and animal lovers. While the accommodations are charming, the heart of the experience lies in the hotel’s exceptional food concept. From the à la carte breakfast to the three-course lunch and ever-changing four-course dinner menus, every meal was a delight, elevated by impeccable service and a warm, personal touch. The entire team exudes hospitality, but a special shout-out goes to Mithila, Ashan, Nethru, and Sumedha, who made every dining experience unforgettable. Their attention to detail, kindness, and passion left us smiling from morning to night. Beyond the culinary excellence, the service throughout the hotel was outstanding. From the reception and concierge, who effortlessly arranged excursions departing straight from the stunning hotel beach (and I mean really stunning!), to the adventure guide, housekeeping, bartenders, and lifeguards—everyone contributed to making our stay truly special. Every request was met with care, making us feel genuinely valued as guests. If we had to pinpoint one area for improvement, it would be the bathroom in our bungalow, which was often too hot and had an unpleasant odor on certain days. However, this was a minor inconvenience in an otherwise perfect stay. Thank you to the entire team for creating such a magical experience!
