"8 wonderful and unforgettable days ! I , wife and son , my cousin and his two children , we hosted in this hostel in Trancoso and the experience was simply wonderful from the beginning to the end. The facilities are perfect, decorated with demolishing wood, swimming pool, sauna, large and comfortable rooms and extremely clean. What more attracted us was the attention of all staff, especially Safira, Darla and her son-child Sun, Nicacio (who works the night) , as well as all the girls in the kitchen , Camila, Rose, Cida and Karol make a wonderful morning coffee, always with a smile on their face, a lot of sympathy and professionalism. The owner Mr. Maurice is extremely careful and made us feel at home. The location is also excellent near everything. We had no kind of problem, just incredible moments. Congratulations to everyone on the work! We recommend very much !!! We like so much that even the smell of the room vc of the hostel we brought to São Paulo (we buy the essence they use in the rooms)."

Breakfast buffet is delicious and the resort's management speaks English fluently. They are very kind and helpful with their suggestions of where to go... we plan on returning here at least once per year!"

"A slice of paradise tucked behind the quadrado. Everything is designed with aesthetics in mind from the moment you arrive. The casas are elegant, spacious, and comfortable and the staff were amazing. From the concierge team to the girl who ran breakfast (which is excellent), to the young man who ran afternoon tea, to the security guards and maids, everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming. The location is ideal, and having a dedicated beach with reserved beds was a huge plus. The concierge was also a big benefit, they handled anything that came up."

"Very disappointing experience, especially considering the level and price of the hotel. We booked one of their best rooms for my friend’s birthday, expecting a special stay. Instead, our first night was terrible: extreme humidity, damp sheets, a lot of noise, and even worms inside the room. My friend is very sensitive to mold and humidity and felt unwell the following day. Although we were moved to another room, the worst part was the way the situation was handled. We constantly felt dismissed by the staff, as if raising perfectly reasonable concerns was an inconvenience. The attitude from reception was at times genuinely rude, with very little empathy or willingness to listen. They even questioned our honesty and made us feel as if we were exaggerating or lying about what had happened. Another guest we met told us she had seen what she believed to be bed bugs on her bed. When she reported it, she was told that this was “impossible” and that they were mosquitoes. Again, we can only speak for our own experience, but seeing another guest’s concerns being dismissed in a similar way reinforced our impression of how complaints are handled here. The hotel itself also doesn’t feel worth what it costs: rusty curtain fixtures, several neglected maintenance details and ridiculously thin, cheap toilet paper (photo attached). Small details, but definitely not what you expect from a hotel in this price range. We travelled around Brazil and experienced wonderful hospitality everywhere else. Problems can happen in any hotel; what really matters is how you treat your guests when they do. Unfortunately, here we were made to feel difficult and even dishonest simply for raising legitimate concerns. Definitely not worth the price. A real disappointment."

The coffee break in the afternoon is also amazing with delicious cakes and coffee/espresso. The owner is from Italy. He is very polite and social. Highly recommended!"

"We had a wonderful stay at Capim Santo. All of the staff who work at capim santo are wonderful from the car service to the breakfast staff, the cleaners to the door staff. In particular Joao on the front desk was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to help with recommending beaches, arranging a massage and helping with various requests. The room was relatively simple but spacious and relaxing with a spacious shower. We enjoyed the time we spent on the hammock in front of the room. The location of the pousada is perfect - in the center of Trancoso’s pedestrianised center. The breakfast included delicious fresh fruits and eggs each day as well as a rotating selection of cakes, pancakes and savoury items. I also recommend eating at the restaurant, it was one of our favourite meals in Trancoso. My two recommendations to the management would be 1) the swimming pool already has lovely sound of birds singing and wind in the trees, it is not necessary to play loud music as well, especially Ed Sheeran. 2) provide advice about how to drive to the pousada from Porto Seguro. Google maps recommends various routes, we didn’t know which one to take and ended up taking a ferry and driving on a dirt track. If you don’t pick the right capim santo vehicle entrance Google will also send you on roads in Trancoso that are not open to vehicles. The drive took almost 3 hours and was one of the most stressful drives of my life!"
