This is old, typical Japanese inn. There is no toilet and bathroom in guest room. However, it gives me a good experience of staying in old style inn. The wooden building makes noises when people are walking around. It may annoy any of you.
WIFI is available but mobile phone is out of coverage.
Onsen is good but not luxury. It smells of sulfur mixed with cedar wood from the building.
Food was just ok. Coffee is extra cost during breakfast. Staffs are friendly and attentive, although their English is limited. Cashless is accepted.
Yachi Onsen offers free transportation to Aomori station and Shin-Aomori station.

Facilities: The hot spring hotel still maintains the style of the old wooden structure. The double room is of acceptable size, but the price is still too small for more than 2,000 yuan a night. The windows can be opened and are double-layered. The bathrooms are all shared. We are In the East Building, there is no hot water in the washbasin here. The hot spring is known as one of Japan's three secret hot springs, so you can experience it. Please pay attention to the time when taking a bath, because at 8:30 in the evening, the men's and women's baths will be interchanged. There is also a hot spring with a lot of floating objects on the water.
Hygiene: Basically everything is very good, but there are too many small insects 🪲 in the corridor, so it is not surprising that there is a "stinky big sister" smell. The little one crawls on my arm every night. It is also looking for warmth in cold weather. .
Environment: There are hiking trails around, so you need to wear hiking shoes and bring a cowbell. The original style is relatively well protected, so it is natural for animals to come and go. There is a JR bus stop just a few minutes' walk from the hotel.
Service: The hotel has free pick-up service, which requires reservation in advance. There is a stop in front of the JR Aomori Station police station. The staff are friendly and polite, especially the older men and women. The food is acceptable, and the fresh fish dishes are also exquisite.

The location is special and the owner is kind. The scenery is very beautiful in autumn, and there is a shuttle service from Aomori. It is suitable for activities such as hiking and enjoying the scenery. It is very enjoyable to take a bath when you come back.

The famous specialty cuisine of Yanchi Onsen is the rockfish cuisine.
Source Google Translate: A happy time that transcends time and space.
This hot spring located in Hakkoda Mountain has a 400-year history and is known as one of Japan's three secret hot springs. The hot spring water flowing directly from the bottom of the bathtub is also effective for low back pain and atopic dermatitis. Soaking in the gushing soft water can relieve daily fatigue and spend a happy time. Please enjoy two hot springs: the lower bath, said to be a spiritual hot spring, with a temperature of 38 degrees, and the upper bath, with a temperature of 42 degrees. Even if you just want to take a dip, feel free to come.

The location is remote, inconvenient without a rental car.
The toilet and sink are shared.
Hot spring water quality is good
Overall, it is underdeveloped.
It would be nice to think of experiencing a traditional ryokan.
Food is good

I stayed here on the first day of a road trip to Aomori with my family. My first impression was that it was a simple hot spring inn with a mountain hut style located in the great outdoors of Hakkoda. I stayed one night in the Genji Room, a historic room where Setouchi Jakucho once stayed for a long time to write. The bath is a hot spring♨️ with an atmosphere reminiscent of a hot spring resort with an all-wooden floor, but the men's and women's baths are switched depending on the time of day. Above all, the dinner using trout and locally produced ingredients was very delicious, and there was a wide selection of local Aomori sake. Since we were leaving early the next morning, we had a bento for breakfast, which was also delicious, and we were grateful to have it at a roadside station on the way. The building is old and there are many steps inside, so it is by no means comfortable, but the delicious food and simple comfort make it 4 stars⭐️.

I don't really like hot springs that are very acidic or smelly. The building is like a mountain hut. It's charming, but the quality of the springs didn't suit me.

The hot spring is good. There is a lukewarm bath, a hot bath and a shower. I think it's best to take a bath as recommended by the inn. You can relax. The lukewarm bath at the bottom was so relaxing that I got sleepy. The rustic feel of the large bath building also gives you a sense of history, which is good in itself. The room was a 6 tatami mat single room, which is also really old. There is a creaking sound when you walk down the hallway. I wasn't expecting amenities, but I was surprised that there was no air conditioning in the room and they had to use a fan to keep out the heat. Well, it's bearable, but I'm a little worried because I'm used to the cold air of the air conditioner. I hesitated to open the window because bugs would come in. . I still recommend staying overnight to enjoy the hot springs, but there's nothing else there other than the hot springs and the rooms are just for sleeping, so I recommend focusing on the hot springs.

September 2007. 15/13 years have passed since then, and one more bath comes in his later years. It is now late August, and the world has been lax in its response to the coronavirus when entering the country, with the virus spreading to every corner of the country. The Prime Minister himself has contracted the virus while playing golf. The central government is unable to take action, which is deplorable, and I am very worried about the future crisis management of this country. Traveling alone, I brought 30 masks, 2 bottles of disinfectant gel, and 40 tablets of Ivervectin. For lunch I ordered 2 rice balls from the inn, and didn't eat from the restaurant. I walked around trying to avoid people, and took my time. I didn't request a shuttle service, and took an empty JR Tohoku bus to Yanai Onsen. I fell asleep in the lower bath and was thrown out for 20 minutes. There was no one else there. It was simple and unadorned. The weight of the snow and the reinforcement of the diagonal pillars above my head didn't bother me, and I thought of Japan's snowiest region. Even though it was just one night, I was very satisfied with 5 baths. The horse sashimi for dinner was sweet and satisfying, and several times more delicious than the ones in Kumamoto and Takanosu. For some reason, I was grateful and thankful. I liked the small size of the room, as I could only lie down and watch TV after taking a bath. The bed futon, which was just a handful higher, was a great help to me. I appreciated the thoughtfulness of the shared refrigerator in the hallway. Above all, the simple, unadorned atmosphere was relaxing and comfortable for both body and mind. Two sunny days, despite the weather. Mirrors of the many springs in the beech forest. 1km of road to Minamitsuta Onsen bus stop, round trip through the beech forest. It was a beautiful beech forest. This is a beech forest. The chipped path through the beech forest between Nyuto Onsen Kuroyu and Kyuka Mura is great. Yachi Onsen during my late-season walking trip. Thank you.
