Lovely hotel , beautiful scenery and friendly staff !

Just back from a 3 day break with my family. The hotel is simply lovely. Both top floor rooms were huge with amazing views out over Torbay. Set in such a peaceful location the hotel was simply amazing. Spotlessly clean rooms,comfortable beds, modern bathrooms and windows that actually opened! All of the staff were super friendly. Breakfast was fantastic with a great selection to choose from. The evening menu, although small, offered a good choice. We ate there every night. The food was always served hot and was delicious. If you want a sterile box of a hotel then this isnt the place. The hotel lived up to what we hoped it would be. It exudes a charm & elegance of the Victorian age. A grand hotel on the English Riviera.!

Last minute walk in booking. Excellent. Charming receptionist immediately offered us a large sea view room. Bed could have been bigger but….walk in shower could have had a rain shower but….the view and sound of the waves in this lovely setting were heaven. Food was fabulous. Staff excellent. The hotel was full. There is an outdoor and indoor pool and tennis court. Outdoor seating/eating/bar in delightful surroundings. Car parking is complimentary. Surely the jewel of the English Riviera. Look forward to returning.

We had a great evening at this event. Very funny and great fun. I’m upset there’s not another one booked in for the hotel as I would go again and bring friends. The food was ok and and entertainment exceptional. Staff were friendly and helpful (except for Basil Fawlty ) Great night out.

Our 3rd year staying at the Osborne Hotel, had 2 years in the Wellswood room (rear facing) and this year in Donegal room (sea view family room.) Separate room for the 2 single beds with TV, main room area with king size bed, TV, sofa, armchair, and access to the bathroom. Breakfast - various cereals, toast and pastries, fruit and yoghurts, hot items cooked to order, all tasty and good choice. Outdoor pool - lovely temperature, used it multiple times. (Didn't use indoor pool this year, but have found it bit cooler than outdoor pool on previous visits.) Staff all friendly and welcoming. Tennis, boules, table tennis, mini golf. Parking at front, side and rear. Plenty and only used the rear once. We don't normally go back to the same place as we like to visit and stay in different locations. But this hotel ticks all the boxes for what we're looking for, hence the 3 years in a row. Area info; Used 'Food' on Torwood Street multiple times - sandwiches, pasties, traybakes (a lot more reasonable than Meadfoot Beach cafe). Harvester and Wetherspoons for eat in, Pier Point chippy for takeaway. Also went by car to the Old Engine House (Greene King chain) - went twice as carvery was so good. Go Ape at Haldon Forest Splashdown Quaywest at Goodrington (2 and 3hr sessions are enough, late PM) Torquay Watersports - 1hr coastal trip was fantastic, saw porpoises and risso dolphins Walk from hotel to Torquay (15-20min to harbour area) - quite hilly but manageable if used to walking. Also walk from hotel, over Daddyhole Plain, along coast path (London Bridge Arch views), down to Beacon Quay area. On our way home and missing it all already!!

A peaceful, friendly and impressive hotel situated above Meadfoot beach, in a quiet area of Torquay, with great views of the sea. Our room was a double with sea view and had every we needed for a comfortable stay. Great to have access to the pool and gym and the staff there were helpful and friendly. Towels from Reception and bags for wet swimwear made it easy to use. All the staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. Well stocked bar with staff that go the extra mile! The restaurant/dining room was very pleasant with a good selection of choices on the menu. Breakfast was value for money with good, tasty and well prepared choices. The staff in the restaurant were friendly and worked hard to meet our needs regarding knowledge of their menu. If they didn’t know they would find out! This is definitely one that we will go back to again!
