"With a great variety of baths, including private ones, you can enjoy your time to the fullest. The food was also very delicious."

📍 650 Nagai, Tone District, Minakami

"The location and baths were fantastic. I was trying to use the Longevity Bath during women-only hours, but I accidentally went into the Hoshi Bath just before it, resulting in an unexpected mixed-gender bathing experience. Those heading to the Longevity Bath should be careful not to accidentally enter the Hoshi Bath. There are also fossils and other exhibits, so be sure to explore the building as well."

"It was a very good stay. I loved the hotel's stylish exterior design, which stands out in the hot spring area. The room was clean and simple. I was amazed by the private hot spring on the balcony in the morning. Listening to the babbling river while soaking in the hot spring made for a wonderful start to the day. Thank you very much."

"It's been a while since I last came here, but ⭕️The service at the front desk was as excellent as ever ⭕️The room...extremely clean ⭕️Food costs...very satisfying *Dinner and breakfast both. It seems that alcohol will be free from March, so I'm looking forward to making a reservation again! No matter when I come, the hospitality is the same."

📍 120 Yubiso, Minakami

"Overall, it's clean and tidy. There's a step up at the entrance, but shoes are allowed inside, so be aware of that. There are no restaurants or convenience stores nearby, and the last bus leaves early, so those looking for a room without meals should consider their options."

📍 551 Yubara, Minakami

"Upon arrival, the check-in instructions were thorough. Every time I passed by an employee, everyone greeted me and I felt very comfortable. In the room, the air conditioning was a little difficult to understand, it took some time to find the remote control for the lights, and the sound of drainage from other rooms was a bit bothersome. However, the bath I went for this time was the best. It was spacious and clean, and I was able to enjoy the open-air bath, so I had a really relaxing time. Next time I would like to use the private open-air bath. The buffet meal was delicious and had enough quantity for our family. However, if it wasn't the final time, I wonder if there would have been a little more variety? I thought so. I was able to walk around the garden and enjoy the beautiful scenery. I still want to use it."

📍 6152-1 Fujiwara, Tone District, Minakami

"If you're a foreigner, a translation tool is essential because the staff don't speak English, or their accent was hard for us to understand. When we couldn't communicate, they seemed annoyed (90% of the staff didn't smile at us). There was an older staff member who was friendly, especially the one handling ski activity bookings. 🤬🤬 Absolutely terrible. The food was mediocre, not much variety or taste. The room was clean, and the onsen bathroom with amenities was excellent. In summary, due to poor communication and the staff's lack of enthusiasm in recommending snow activities, my trip ended in tears 😭😭. I had planned to do many snow activities, but instead, I just walked around, built snowmen, and rolled in the snow. I won't be coming back here next trip. I'll look for a hotel that's more welcoming to Thais."

"I was a little worried about the shared space, but it was kept clean overall and easy to spend. I can hear a little sound in the next room and corridor, so I think it is a good inn where you can stay at a low cost for those who don't care. Thank you for staying!"

"The room's atmosphere and bathroom are very nice, and it's very clean. It's quiet, and you can barely hear any noise from the next room, so it's perfectly fine even if you're traveling alone. One suggestion for improvement is that there's a large mirror above the sink in the room, but the reflection of the lighting makes it difficult to apply makeup. I would prefer to be able to apply makeup in natural light, so it would be helpful if you could provide a movable, foldable mirror in the room."

"It was my first trip to Gunma Onsen, and I was surprised at how few buses there were, but there was a bus stop near the hotel, so that was a relief."

"Fenomenal break away from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and Kyoto. There is nothing more refreshing than a dip in the outdoor onsen followed by the most beautiful and nutritious dinner prepared with local ingredients. This places should be publicised more but then again perhaps its magic still lies in the fact that you need to do your research properly to find it and then make more out of the way arrangements to get there (Shinkansen to Jomokogen but then you have to book a local taxi in advance). The bus day trip from the bus station just outside we took one day to Minakami was also worthwhile. If you are a foreigner and want a real taste of Japanese countryside and onsen life, this is the place ❤️ Thank you to the lovely staff for a wonderful stay!"

"Even though I stayed there for one night with my family, the service was the worst at Kinkaku, which is not cheap. The private open-air bath is dirty and shaky, and the foreigners are very kind, but the employees use the same toilet as the guests and leave without washing their hands.T^TThe food and everything else is disappointing. did. Nothing to see other than the exterior"

"What a surprise. A gem. Spacious room. Small hot bath on the terrace with a view on the river. Initially, looking at the dining room, I thought food would be basic. BUT the set menu was really really good. 10/10. 1 michelin star. A series of small so well presented european dishes with a small touch of Japanese cuisine. Une oeuvre d'art. Excellent. Breakfast, Japanese or European. Excellent too. Staff was great too. We will definitely come back."

"We went with my daughter, who will soon be 2 years old, and my grandparents! Just like last time, all the staff greeted us with smiles and kindness, so we felt good from the start. Also, this time was the 100th anniversary, so we were able to enjoy the free flow at any time! Personally, I was disappointed that the ramen shop was closed at night lol I will definitely come again!"

"The place was clean and the hot springs were great, but when we arrived for dinner, which was supposed to start at 6:30 pm, it wasn't ready. We were kept waiting, and even after being seated, it took over 30 minutes for the shabu-shabu pot and meat to arrive... some people waited for an hour. The website showed luxurious tempura and other dishes, but all we got was shabu-shabu, sushi, simmered dishes, and jelly. Breakfast was also disappointing, and this was with two meals included, costing over 10,000 yen per person compared to a room-only stay! And to top it all off, there were only about five staff members, so I wonder how they plan to get through a public holiday... All the staff were foreigners, and their Japanese was broken. It was heartbreaking to see one person working so hard and apologizing. It's such a shame, especially since they said they were trying to make a living by renovating a closed-down inn."

"Stayed here for 2 nights. Breakfast was good, but what was really great was the dinner. There are big strawberries. There was unlimited sweetness to eat. It was really great. On the first day of our stay, there was no snow at all. But on the second day, after traveling to the ski resort, when we returned to the hotel, we found snow in front of the hotel and inside the hotel, maybe 1 foot high. Very beautiful, impressive. The first day of showering was outdoors and the atmosphere was very refreshing. Think about soaking in warm mineral water in an atmosphere of 0 degrees. On the second day, you can take an indoor shower because the weather is minus 3 degrees, so it's better to take a shower indoors. The staff took very good care of us, like close relatives. Ask anything, I can answer it all. Recommend only good things The waiters were very attentive. In conclusion, I got a full score for this trip."

"A pretty decent Onsen. Just that the staff couldn’t speak much English and we had a hard time trying to understand the dinner flow. And the amenities at the onsen bath are quite limited."
