Hôtel atypique. ! Literie confortable et pas de bruit la nuit. La chambre que nous avons eu était refaites avec les moyens du bord. Pas de fioritures juste du pratique. Si vous aimez les Hotel « classe » faites demi- tour. Restauration classique pour un we du 15 août. Personnel sympathique, pas compliqué le boss s’occupe de tout.

We stopped in Thiers en route to Provence. The town is quaint with a few bars,fabulous views and friendly locals. We were welcomed by the owner and his wife. The room was very clean and the bed was so comfortable. The 3 course dinner was fantastic and great value. The poached eggs cooked in burgundy wine were delicious The main course of confit lemon chicken was equally delicious however the highlight of the meal were the desserts,creme brulée and mousse au chocolat. Every dish is home made. The Algerian wine was equally delicious.

The room was comfortable, though on the small side. Really comfortable bed and lovely sheets. No real reception area. Area around the hotel now sadly very run-down, though there is some regeneration happening.

Nous avions choisi cet hôtel car il était situé près du centre ville, que c'était un hôtel indépendant et que nous aimons les lieux avec une histoire, même s'ils sont désuets ou avec un charme suranné. Nous avons eu tout cela. Un prix modeste, une grande chambre, des lieux extremement propres. Alors bien sur, la déco est kitch, c'est un drôle de mélange, mais les moulures, boiseries et sols en mosaïque de l'entrée sont encore très beaux. Le gérant s'est montré charmant, à l'écoute et à notre service. On peut se garer gratuitement dans le parking couvert en face. Alors si comme nous, vous préférez un lieu différent de ceux que vous offrent les chaines d'hôtels stéréotypées, arrêtez vous à l'Aigle d'Or. Il est comme la ville de Thiers, et son histoire coutelière, de tradition, de sentiments, il est authentique.

Hôtel à éviter absolument, un accueil déplorable, une hygiène à désirer, les joints de la salle de bain crasseux, comme jamais nettoyée. Nous avons dû l’éclairer avec notre téléphone parce que l’ampoule de la salle de bain n’a jamais été changée, pas de lumière dans la salle, de bain une odeur de moisi. Nous avions choisi de manger le couscous à l’hôtel le soir de notre arrivée, nous nous sommes levé de table avec la faim, nous avions demandé un bol d’eau pour notre chien nous avons dû nous débrouiller par nos propres moyens, aucune attention de la part du serveur/ barman / patron, en fait c’est la même personne Mais par compte le lendemain quand nous lui avons fait remarquer son manque d’attention par rapport à nos demandes nous avons eu une majoration du prix de notre chambre avec en prime un comportement plus qu’insultant.
