"It was a relaxing Bank holiday weekend"
voco Telford Ironbridge by IHG

International Hotel Telford
"Hotel is conveniently situated close to the town center mall and lots of restaurants My room was comfortable and clean and breakfast was good with a fair selection on offer."
Travelodge Telford
"This review is not just about the hotel itself, but about the exceptional service we received. The staff member at reception, Mary, was incredibly warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. Her attitude and willingness to assist made our stay much more pleasant. Customer service like this makes a real difference, and it is the reason we would happily choose this Travelodge again without hesitation. Thank you, Mary . You are a true credit to the team."
The Sutherland
"Booked a room and evening meal. Check in was straightforward and receptionist was professional. Gave advice on breakfast time and where room was located. Room was spacious and thankfully not too hot. Thw bathroom had an extractor fand that kept.going about 15 mins after the light had been turned off! Bed was really comfy, not too soft and duvet was warm. Plenty of pillows :) There was 2 free bottles of water and a coffee machine with pods, I did not use this but water in a fridge was appreciated. Towels were clean and bathroom radiator was hot so towels were nice and warm. Free toiletries in the bathroom but I had taken my own so didn't use them. The lights in the hallways have motion sensors so the hallway are a bit dark when you first walk into them. The evening meal was with my work group and results varied. Most people enjoyed but personally I didn't. The soup I got was half cold and the other side of the bowl was warm. The mushroom stroganoff was lacking taste and the apple and cinnamon crumble was most cinnamon. I have eaten here before and enjoyed but was not impressed this time. It was quite busy and the staff seemed overworked as no one came to ask if we were OK or if we needed drinks and I did have to wave people over a few times. The reception area is also the bar. Its obviously a popular pub as it was crowded but maybe they should have more staff on, the same people seemed to be dealing with check in, diners and bar drinks. Just seemed a bit disorganised. The drinks here were nice and decently priced. They also do large 250ml wine, unlike a lot of places nowadays. Breakfast the next morning was great, good coffee and hot food. Check out was simple, just hand your key card back. I would stay here again but might not have the evening meal!"
YHA Ironbridge Coalport
"Booked directly with YHA and the YHA website clearly says free parking. We checked this on arrival and gave our registration number. The heating system was completely broken. Awaiting a new boiler. It's a single skin brick building with metal framed single glazed windows. It was freezing. We didn't stay, as it was too cold. There were very small plug in radiators in the bedroom, shared lounge but nothing to heat the members kitchen or dining room. Very poor customer experience. The staff were excellent at Coalport but the head office experience for getting the refund has been exhausting and the refund still hasn't been processed. "
The Telford Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort
"A truly wonderful hotel with amazing facilities, comfortable rooms, 2 lovely bars/restaurants and a first-class spa! The staff at this hotel are truly wonderful and an asset to the hotel!"

The Swan Taphouse
"After reading the reviews I was dreading coming to the hotel. We were originally booked into the malthouse but had to rearrange the dates, Ashley Manager at the malthouse very kindly rebooked us in at the swan hotel as there was no availability at the malthouse. Then I read the reviews, it's true stairs to the rooms are a little narrow and carpet a little worn. Our room however was lovely, overlooking the river severn. A large room , very bright, old beams. The room and bathroom were clean. The bath did have a handheld shower which isn't ideal however I was expecting this after reading the reviews and it wasn't a big deal. The location is perfect for the Ironbridge and a very short walk to shops and restaurants. We booked breakfast and that was at the malthouse a 2 minute walk away which was no bother and breakfast was very good. Good quality sausage and bacon and my husband upgraded to the gorge breakfast for £3 and it was huge. Staff were very friendly and breakfast was served promptly. We also ate lunch at the swan hotel, max who served us was really friendly and the food was really good. We will definitely return next year. A very pleasant stay. Big plus they have parking."
Foundry Masters House
"In seeking a place to stay for a weekend visit to the Ironbridge/Telford area we came across The Foundry Master’s House and we are glad that we did. Location wise it was perfect, being sat nestled within the beautiful Ironbridge gorge area. The house was presented beautifully and the welcome from Dan and Dawn, the owners, was warm and generous. Nothing was too much trouble. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis. The breakfast was outstanding, being generously prepared and presented. We also asked if dinner was possible on the second night. Dawn applied her exemplary cookery skills to produce an attractive and satisfyingly wholesome meal for us. We were so glad we had asked! You won’t be disappointed."
Bridgeside Rooms
"Just had an overnight in Ironbridge staying in the Courtyard Room at Bridgeside Rooms. Some of the rooms have bridge views, this one doesn’t but that wasn’t important to us. It’s a fabulous high street location and the accommodation was great. Comfy bed with nice cotton bedding and a ‘whisper quiet’ fan that was very much appreciated in this heat. Courtyard room is a lodge style room that’s separate to the main building but only 3 strides away. Coffee, hot chocolate, tea and fresh milk was provided along with some complimentary snacks and a voucher to collect one of the famous Eley Pork Pies. Would absolutely recommend to anyone."
The Queens at Horton
Hadley Park House Hotel
"Lovely hotel, very warm friendly staff, great vegan breakfast! (Little let down with hot water and lemon request when asked for tea/coffee but never turned up?) Wish I had dinner there, next time I will. Room was good but is looking like a bit of work is needed, ie bath seal could be redone and the shower glass rubber, slow draining, dead spider that’s been there since opening? Bed was comfy, WiFi was hit and miss, room unfortunately had rubbish on the floor next to bin/door (empty milk for tea) and also bin was not empty and had rubbish in it. Yes there’s parts that are not the greatest and mostly room related but doesn’t outweigh the great food, the great staff (maybe not so great cleaning staff?) and the great service received. Overall I would stay again."
Grove House Guest House
Viaduct Guest House
"If you looking for somewhere to stay to visit Ironbridge or the surrounding area, look no further. The Viaduct Guest House is brilliant. The house has been beautifully restored to a very high standard by the owners Kay and Paul. A lot of thought has gone into the bedroom design along with a relaxing lounge. There was nothing to fault! Quite an achievement. The breakfast was excellent and my wife was very impressed with the lengths that they went to to cater for her dairy intolerance. including oat milk already in our room on arrival. Kay and Paul are superb hosts who work hard to know the guests and to ensure that they have a memorable break. We will be returning in the future."
The Malthouse
"Horrendous place. No sound proofing and the room was above the where the band played until 11.45pm. Toilet stank. Coffee cheap sachets expecting you to pay extra for filter Coffee. When I complained the attitude was indifferent. Breakfast mediocre at best. "
The Ironworks Aparthotel
"booked the Ironworks Aparthotel for 4 nights. I selected this venue because the rooms seemed spacious, the location was relatively close to the conference I was attending and the price seemed reasonable. The Ironworks Aparthotel team have tried to think of so many ways to put the customer first and anticipate their needs. Firstly, the reservation process was simple and straightforward. I did not have to pay for the room straight away and I received a reminder that payment was due close to specified time indicated in during the reservation process. I received my check-in details the day before arrival. This process was easy also consisting of a key code for the main entrance and a numbered lockbox for my room. The room (5) I was given was very well appointed as shown in the pictures. The rooms appear to be as indicated by the photographs on the website. It consisted of a kitchen (complete with dishes, cups, glasses, refrigerator, small hob, air fryer, soaps, dishcloths, etc); everything needed to make yourself breakfast in the morning or a meal in the evening. The only downside is that this particular room did not really have a comfortable place to sit and eat the meal (it looks like other rooms are larger and have a designated space for that). The room was very nicely decorated with calming grey, green, blue colours throughout. The furniture looked new with lots of cupboard and storage throughout. The shower was clean and nice. Whilst the shower pressure was good enough, the temperature was hot and you didn’t have to wait long. So it came as complete surprise to me that the bed was so awful. The foot of the mattress was higher than the head (I wish I had taken a photo), and when I sat down, I just sank. The bed was very soft and unsupportive. The pillows on the other hand were great - thick and comfortable. But sadly, 3 nights on poor mattress was all I could take. When I expressed direct feedback to the Aparthotel team after I left, this was the response I got back (within a couple of hours)… “I do wish you had let me know, we really are here to help and do care and prepared to put things right, whatever it is. We always would greatly appreciate the opportunity to put it right. I have a local mattress supplier who could have delivered a king mattress the same day and we would have had the bed remade the very same day. This will now happen on Monday and no one will stay in that room until it’s been replaced. It’s a small business that we’re truly very proud of and we’re genuinely pleased that you’ve let us know.” Having read this, I regret not reaching out to them to see if they have could fixed the problem. They are there to help and based on this response, I would recommend this place and encourage anyone who stays here to call them if you have any issues at all. They really want to make your stay as comfortable as possible. In fact I plan on booking again should I be in this area. They have done a really good job."
