There is free wifi, which can be a bit patchy, and parking. Laundry available for a fee. Close to town center with amenities like restaurants, supermarkets and petrol stations."

"We stayed 2 nights at the Alpine View Motel Te Anau, the unit although very 1960s, was clean and spacious. However we received a nasty surprise after checking out, my husband’s credit card had been debited $150- for extra cleaning under the pretext that we had left “vomit left all over the unit”. This was totally untrue as neither my husband nor I had been ill/sick and we know we had left the unit in a tidy and reasonable condition upon departure. We subsequently contacted the owner refuting these allegations and the extra cleaning charge as they had to be a mistake, however the owner was adamant and later provided some photos, although of poor quality and with no dates nor times on the photos. Sadly, we strongly believe these photos are fake and were most likely fabricated by the owner in order to justify his additional cleaning charge. We feel cheated and robbed. Our advice to travellers is to avoid this place altogether, or take as many photos as possible before you check out. Do not rely on the honesty of the owners of this property. We had a very bad experience that has tainted an otherwise great holiday."

"We've stayed here several times over the years. The owners are very knowledgeable about the area. Our room was large and airy. Noise from other rooms was a problem with giggling girls late at night. There is a guest refrigerator which was nice to have and we were able to do laundry. Breakfast could be better. You have to pay extra for anything cooked so there was little protein available. Some boiled eggs would have been nice, as well as some decaf coffee. We could have used some body lotion, too. We'll stay here again."

Laura looked after us extremely well providing a wonderful breakfast and even doing our washing for us. Highly recommended. We have no hesitation in staying at Blue Ridge again."

"Initially, I was hesitant to book this hotel, thinking it might be a motel. But I really couldn't find any other hotels available. Upon closer inspection, I realized this room type was great: two bedrooms – one with a king bed, one with a queen, plus bunk beds. It was more than enough space. The environment was lovely, and we even had a little cat visit us!"

"Spent a night here before embarking on an overnight cruise on Doubtful Sound. Wish we could’ve stayed longer. The super king bed is supremely comfortable as is the large sofa. Breakfast provisions were extremely generous - eggs, avocado, tomatoes, fresh fruit, Greek yogurt, granola, juice, a whole loaf of bread, butter, jams and two types of milk plus two bottles of wine and some chocolate. I only wish we could’ve done it more justice. There is an outside tub for 2 which sadly we didn’t get time to use. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again"

"I can’t recommend this place enough. Such an awesome place to stay in Te Anau. The room was clean, spacious and great four our family of four. Two complimentary wine bottles on arrival were an awesome touch. Even had surround sound system set up for the living room area. We ended up watching several movies and even went below to the cinema and brought up some fresh popcorn. Showers were awesome with heated bathroom floors perfect after a cool day out on Milford sound. Perfect location next to several restaurants and grocery store. We stayed here two nights and honestly of all the places we stayed in New Zealand over the course of two weeks it was one of the best! Seriously can’t recommend this place enough."
