Absolutely fantastic resort. We’ve already booked to come again. We stayed in a 2 bedroom grand villa that had a large private garden, outdoor furniture and outdoor shower. There was no internal living space but with a sofa and chairs, a lounge bed, and a dining table and chairs outside that was a minor inconvenience. We spent many evenings listening to the birdsong. Breakfast was superb and service was friendly, great selection of fresh juices and everything you could possibly need. We had young children with us so went relatively early, it did appear to get busy by 9am but we were finishing then. We didn’t eat in the restaurant because there are many options nearby we wanted to try, but when we come again we likely will because it looked really good. The pools are wonderful. For the kids there’s a splash pad and a fun, shaded playground. The beach is so close and one of the best I’ve ever been to. We enjoyed the Level lounge and appreciated the size of the terrace outside, which gave space to let toddlers run without bothering too many visitors. We didn’t have breakfast in the lounge but that was simply because with small children the larger restaurant offering works better. Each evening around 7pm we had a knock on the door to the garden (it was very private!) and were offered water and chocolates. A number of treats await you in villas and it was a fantastic experience, highly recommended. This isn’t an area frequented by masses of English speakers, which was what we wanted. There was no issue in the hotel, but don’t expect English translation on menus and everyone knowing fluent English in the surrounding towns. Knowing some Spanish is beneficial for getting about. We can’t wait to see you again!

A few days ago I had the privilege of being invited to the Atúnic Restaurant of the Gran Hotel Meliá de Zahara de las Tuna in the province of Cádiz. Spectacular food. I personally had the tuna tataki with pine nut and heart vinaigrette. out of the ordinary. but what impressed me the most was the service, Mikhail served me for drinks, impeccable, attentive, elegant, precise, correct and discreet and for the food Alejandro, very correct and professional. Both Mikhail and Alexandre, especially Mikhail, made my visit a memorable occasion. I have traveled to five continents and now live in Berlin. I highly recommend this restaurant and congratulate the management for Mikhail and Alejandro

The hotel itself is lovely. Clean, wonderful pool, great food, but the staff really let it down. I’ve never been to a hotel with such unpleasant staff. The fact we didn’t speak Spanish appeared to be a huge issue, and it took until day 3 for someone to explain the levels experience to us, so i think we missed out on a lot. It wouldn’t be hard to have this explained on a piece of paper in different languages. In the restaurant as Brits we were ignored constantly by the serving staff and chefs, with them often looking over our heads or round us to cater to the Spanish customers first. We also had an issue with our air con leaking onto the marble floor, causing me to slip with a baby in my arms. On getting to reception with tears in my eyes, they sent someone up to fix and clean it, but there was never an explanation or apology from a single member of staff. Very disappointing for a Melia hotel. I expected more.

Amazing place for families! With kids club from age of 8 months. And great beach club and food. We stayed at the level which is the 5 star experience of the hotel with Speer ate breakfast and separate swimming pool. We absolutely loved the whole stay.

Having paid for The Level Experience! from arrival we’re left unassisted for 40 minutes, after having cued up like everyone else. They would repeatedly apologise but do nothing to help. All we wanted was to be told where our room was & given a key. On several occasions I explained I have an autistic child & it was completely ignored. I repeatedly went to the desk looking for assistance or guidance & told “could you please wait there & someone will be with you” my child couldn’t cope & I was left in tears. Not as much as water was even offered. Finally having been showed to our room, they said the bags would arrive shortly. 25 minutes later still no bags! I had to again go up to reception & chase them down. Not one member of staff explained the benefits of The Level experience. No wrist band’s were given to us, only that we had friends staying in the hotel also, they filled us in. Again back to reception! Nothing but apologies, but no compensation at all. Our bedroom had an awful smell of sewage. Room itself was very basic & not worth the money. The Level buffet was awful & very unkept. Plates were never cleared from tables. Very hard to get waiters attention or service. Constantly you would have to go looking for cutlery just so you could eat your food! Music at night blasting right beside buffet so you couldn’t even have a conversation at dinner. And if you put your kids to bed before 11:30pm they could not sleep with the noise of the music. It was a horrendous experience. Our family & friends that stayed all said they would never return. Worst experience I’ve ever had in a hotel.

Just spent 10 days at the melia zahara like every year. We had the most amazing time! The staff are absolutely incredible and truly love being with the kids. I have to pay special mention to Mar and her team at the kidsdom club, they are all such wonderful people and so accommodating. Thanks guys so much! the kids love you as we do. This hotel is so tranquil and offers so much in terms of good food, entertainment and everything you want at a hotel. We can't wait to visit again later in the summer or next year. Hasta luego

Very expensive but not value for money at all mainly due to lack of proper management. Level service especially reception is so unprofessional and arrogant. Before the renovation was way more better service and management. Just avoid now if you don’t want to get upset and frustrated to be charged but not served. For the amount they charge you don’t get even a half. The feeling of growing greediness is everywhere in this hotel. What a shame.

From the moment we arrived to when we left the staff couldn't do enough for us. We arrived rather late, and reception insisted that yes, we should eat first and check in later so we didn't have to rush dinner. Our villa had a good sized garden with lots of furniture, with the pool a short walk away. We especially liked the Breeza beach bar - fantastic fresh fish! The hotel charges for parking, but it's quite easy to find roadside parking within a few minutes walk. If you have problems walking, the hotel does have an electric buggy to take you to/from the beach bar - order from reception. The Spanish pronunciation of 'buggy' is closer to 'boogy', FYI. Recommended!

Very disappointing all round - especially for the price paid. Constantly queuing for meals, breakfast, coffee machines that were rarely working - and topped off by very poor service. When escalating issues to management, they were indifferent (to put it mildly). Avoid.

If you like dancing in your bedroom, you would love Meliá Atlanterra. From 8pm until 11pm every night they would play music outdoors karaoke style, entertain children or do whatever activity they choose for the day at a volume that could probably be heard from Seville. If you are the type that loves these things (your typical karaoke or cruise guy, with more energy than taste) then this might be your place. Otherwise, abstain. At these prices, there are far better choices in Zahara/Atlanterra. The hotel is OK, no frills, but OK.

Very nice clean hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean and well equipped. The food both in the hotel and hotel’s Chirinquito was superb. The Hotel is well located only 8mins drive from Zahara de los Atunes, which in itself is worth visiting. The hotel also has access to the beach. With the exception of a slow and poor check-in from Front of House the Service was predominantly very good. Will definitely return. Thanks

Hotel was beautiful and very clean. Staff were very professional yet friendly and could not have been more helpful. Food and drinks were great. We used the Level and the Beach Bar. The Tuna steak at the beach bar was outstanding! Really enjoyed everything.

Where to start... family trip, we booked a premium room with a terrace. When we arrived, surprise! The terrace is on a ground floor surrounded by bushes on all sides, impossible to get out of, a literal nest of bugs. The day after we were there, we smelled incredibly of pipes and the toilet was blocked. They fixed it, but the next day we still had the smell of pipes. We went to reception and they told us it was because of the east wind. Really?! After our complaint about not spending our holidays smelling like m... They changed us to a room in the main building (we were in the patio area) and on the second floor, with a terrace without bushes and without smells!!!. Watch out! We had a premium room that was theoretically renovated, unlike the standard ones (the renovation is just to say the least, holes in the floor, a pitted bathtub... I can't imagine what the standard one is like). As for the services for children, we went a couple of times and we were not very happy, the first time there was dance music, my little one loves to dance, there were many children asking for songs but the girls were more interested in playing the songs they liked and dancing, than the ones the children asked for, we gave it a second chance and went to the night of the mats.... a girl crying inside a mini castle, we tell one of the girls in charge that there is a little girl crying and her response is that she is alone and can't go... so another father who is with his little one goes in to take out the crying girl and gives her to the one who is theoretically watching the children, we left there due to the lack of control and chaos, poor organization and supervision of our little ones. I'm not sure I'd find anything good, yes, the hotel is very close to the beach, but very far from Zahara de los Atunes and with nothing around to walk around, entertain the children, the pool was fine, but there was no children's pool (only for level), the food was fine, but you had to look for clean plates, supposedly they were, but most were poorly washed, anyway, we've been to several Melia's and without a doubt this one is not up to par, maybe it was just bad luck...we've been there for 6 days and we won't go back even if it were free!!!

Siamo stati ospiti della struttura in una delle giornate peggiori della storia spagnola: quella del blackout nazionale del 28/4. E vorrei ringraziare tutto lo staff Melia per il grandissimo supporto che ha saputo dare nelle lunghe ore prima del ripristino dell’energia elettrica (e dell’acqua!!) riuscendo addirittura a preparare un pranzo di tre portate in queste condizioni critiche!! Il resort è molto bello, ben tenuto e davvero di buon gusto. In questa stagione di bassa affluenza non sono un problema i parcheggi o l’affollamento delle strutture e servizi. La spiaggia atlantica è stupenda.
