Hôtel Marrakech

Location: Located in the old town center, close to main attractions like Grand Socco, beaches, ports and American Legation Museum, etc., very convenient for travel

It was not super-sized but quite a sizeable room I would say (big enough for both a good-sized bed and an adjacent modest-sized area like a "living room" with a table & a few chairs) where also feeling like "almost as an extension" to the room (being located on the "top floor") was the quite-spacious "outdoor deck" with also a nice number of furniture items and where yes the best part is this "breathtaking panorama" which is like a combo view of "the city & the sea" (in like a semicircle from the high-ground part of the Medina on the left to the seafront including the ferry port for Spain straight ahead to some picturesque hill area on the far right a little on the outskirts of the city). And also, as for the "convenience of location", the site quite worthwhile in my opinion (for its interesting displays of history & nicely-decorated rooms) which is the American Legation Museum is just about a 5-minute walk away (to the right after coming out of this place), and also quite nearby at just a few-minute walk (to the left and yes actually close enough to be able to see from the rooms of this hotel) is the Grand Socco square with a number of places to eat around the square itself (for some nice fried-chicken meals) & slightly off the square (where I had some nice filling breakfasts at this restaurant "right before" getting to the square on the way from this place). And, my many thanks are to Abdul & all the rest of the staff for their friendliness & cooperation including yes giving me a "great room" at the top and also booking a nice half-day trip to Cap Spartel (for the visits to the Lighthouse & the Hercules Cave).

Spent a few nights recently in this hotel. I hate leaving negative reviews but in this case, it’s important info for my fellow future travellers. The rooms stink. And I mean bad. Like a mixture of rotten eggs, animal carcasses, fish guts, exotic spices, and feces, all blended into one overpowering nose burn. The old markets are very close by to the hotel so I’m sure it is all connected underground by the 3,000 year old sewage system. Anyways, stay here only if you’re REALLY on a tight budget and/or have lots of Vicks VapoRub to put under your nose. I honestly don’t think I will ever forget that truly pungent stench and unfortunately, it is still all over my clothes and luggage. Oh, and the staff don’t speak much English (as far as I know), so if you don’t speak French or Arabic, have your google translator ready. The wifi is also very weak and constantly comes in and out. Not a place to get any work done on-line (or to breathe freely). Otherwise, very cordial and friendly staff, a comfy bed, and a great view from the top terrace!
