Choosing the right hotel for my Sydney trip really made all the difference! The Rydges World Square completely exceeded my expectations, absolutely deserves a perfect score!
📍Location is unbeatable: Right in the heart of Sydney, within walking distance to the Sydney Opera House and Hyde Park. There are tons of malls and restaurants nearby, making it super convenient for both sightseeing and shopping. It saved so much commute time.
🏨Room Experience: We booked a deluxe twin room, and it was spacious with soft, comfortable bedding. The room was spotlessly clean, no corners missed. All the facilities were complete, and the toiletries were good quality. The soundproofing was excellent, so it was really quiet at night, perfect for a good rest.
💁♀️Service was perfect: Everything from check-in to check-out was incredibly smooth. The front desk staff were warm and professional, proactively offering to help with luggage and answering travel questions. Any request was quickly attended to, with thoughtful attention to detail.
🌿Environment is superb: The hotel lobby has a fantastic design, and the common areas are clean and tidy, creating a comfortable and upscale atmosphere. It's great for relaxing and even for taking photos.
My friend and I had such a comfortable stay. I'll definitely choose this place again on my next trip to Sydney, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting!
I thoroughly enjoyed my overnight stay at Rudy’s North Sydney. The lovely man who checked me into the Hotel was so helpful. The following morning the host of the breakfast restaurant was also very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again. Rooms are renovated with nice products.

Arrived internationally, turned right out of the terminal, crossed the road, and it was indeed very close. We arrived at night and stayed one night before catching an early morning domestic flight the next day. It was a five-minute walk to the free shuttle bus stop, which was super convenient. Checked baggage for domestic departures was very slow; it took 45 minutes for the queue and security check. After security, there were plenty of food options.
Upon arrival the room smelled like stale cigarettes and stagnant water which was extremely unpleasant. I had to prop the door open with my suitcase to get fresh air in with the window open. I ended up going to the supermarket to buy carpet deodoriser and air freshener to get the smell out. I could still smell it when I left after 2 days. When I went to get into bed it was very obvious the bed had been slept in and the pillowcase had not been changed. I had to strip the bed and make it with what was left over with the sheet that goes over the doona. I know it was NYE and paid over $600 a night for the room, but wasn’t expecting the room to not smell ok and have fresh linen.
This is really a good hotel for cost, location and sevice. Although the room was small it had all the requirements for a single or two people. It is only a 10 min walk to central station so very covenient if you fly in or out to take airport train. The entrance is in campbell st just off george st. For first timers just press the camera to gain entrance and go to 2nd floor receptionn. The breakfast is only continental but there is plenty of it. All the girls were extremely helpful.. The Hay st Market and other attractions are all within walking distance and if you want to go to the bridge, opera house or circular quay just hop onto the light rail close by. I would definitely stay there again on my next trip to sydney
Good location, staff were nice.
I found it a little run down, overall. The photo on the brochure must be a decade old! Inside the rooms and around the property is not 4 star.

This hotel is quite central. The parking entrance is a bit tricky; it's the leftmost lane, actually the entrance to the World Square car park. This setup is different from traditional car park entrances in China, which caused us to miss it and drive around the city center in circles.
The hotel's dedicated parking is on level 3 (which is actually underground). When you enter the car park, you go down from levels 7, 6, 5, and so on. If you're driving to the hotel, you need to go to level 3. Be sure to follow the signs to the hotel's parking level on level 3 (different hotels use different levels for their private parking, so don't get confused). Once you've parked on level 3 in the hotel's dedicated parking, there's an elevator right next to it that takes you directly to the hotel's front desk on the L floor. Parking is expensive: AUD 60 for a weekend day and AUD 70 on weekdays. You pay by scanning a QR code. I hope this helps anyone driving themselves.
Everything else was fine. Parking in Sydney is really, really expensive if you're driving yourself. 😂
“The hotel is in a convenient location. The room had many empty cabinets, which seemed unnecessary as they didn’t serve any clear purpose 😀. I was also surprised that my card, provided for the security deposit, was charged upon check-out even though I didn’t use anything from the minibar. After contacting the hotel by email, they assured me the amount would be refunded. Guests should be cautious when providing card details for a security deposit.
The worst Father’s Day stay I have had in over 50 years - the television did not work and we paid extra to have a ocean view room but when you look out all you see are high rise buildings and pine trees from the room - if you go out onto the balcony and look to the right there is the ocean - the balcony door lock did not work and was held by a hook and eye staple ( at least that reminded me of my childhood 70 years ago ) - no milk in the fridge for tea or coffee - the bath mat was a hand towel for one foot only so no chance of 4 for Father’s Day celebration - the food was good and the staff helpful and courteous - on checking out I did voice our concerns and was told the manager would be advised.
Very Good
