Location of the hotel is really great, right near the market and pub street. So, if going out is the goal then this is a great option with rooftop access and swimming pool. Staff were very friendly as well. Room was not clean however, especially the bathroom which was not cleaned in some time by the looks of it.

Location is perfekt, everything in walking distance.
Hotel pretty simple, but I didn't expect anything fancy.

It’s a great place if you want to stay outside the hotel for the entire day and only sleep in your room

Seng Hout Hotel has expanded considerably and now has 2 buildings. Safety is slightly compromised as there is now an outdoor walkway along the windows of many rooms, with some of these windows unable to fully close/ lock - though there was no actual safety incident during our stay. Amenities and cleanliness are minimal but functional. Staff struggle somewhat with simple requests such as top up of toilet paper or additional blankets (the blanket is smaller than the bed so can be challenging to share in double beds - but additional is not available). Nonetheless, functional and comfortable stay for the price.

Does not provide paper in the rooms, only toilet paper. It does not provide shower gel, only soap to wash hands. 1 towel per person. View of the city which is actually seen as the building next door.
It was once a good establishment but since COVID, it has changed too much...

I arrived in Battambang by train. This hotel was not too far from the station, so I chose it. The room was spacious and clean, and the front desk service was very friendly. I was quite satisfied. The only small dissatisfaction is that the tables, chairs, electrical appliances, etc. in the room are very old. In addition, the window of my room faces the building next to it.

The hotel is centrally located, giving an easy access to the city’s main attractions. The room was clean but the public areas were dusty and poorly maintained. Staff were friendly and helpful. All in all, a good option for such a reasonable price.

The price was low so I wasn’t expecting 5 star but honestly this hotel would be lucky to make 3 star. First of all, there are two Seng Hout hotels - the original one on the corner and the second one about 50m along the road. The original one had rooftop pool and bar, massage service, etc - all the facilities. According to our tuk tuk driver (excellent English), it was closed during Covid and has not reopened. I don’t know if the second hotel, where we stayed, was Seng Hout #2 before Covid or whether it was another hotel and the owner of the big one bought it and renamed it when she closed the original. If you check through the 166 photos of the hotel on Trip Advisor, you can see photos from both hotels all mixed together, along with other photos of mould, cracks in wall, mouldy shower curtains etc - things you don’t normally see on websites. My room was under the swimming pool and the filter machine was turned on at about 7.30 am and ran until 8.30pm, meaning I had the background noise of a whining machine all day in my room. Recommend not taking a room near the lift on 2nd floor. There is no breakfast or bar - it is more like a hostel. There is a rooftop terrace on 5th floor but no bar or other facilities apart from a big table and some seating. The pool is on the 3rd floor. Rooms are not made up daily. On arrival, your room will have towels, water and toilet paper but if you want clean towels, more water and more toilet paper on 2nd or 3rd day, you have to collect it yourself from reception. Behind the reception desk were four people playing cards all day and one of them was the receptionist. So staff can play cards all day but cannot check water and toilet paper in the rooms. Don’t use the hotel’s washing service - yes it is very cheap $1 per kg, but it does not get picked up until the following morning and is not returned until that evening. So we checked in at 1 pm, handed in the washing and were told “tomorrow morning”. This was not true. It did not return until 7.30 pm the next day. Find a laundry outside the hotel. In the heat, our clothes would have dried in 1 hour. Apart from the noise of the pool filter all day, my room was OK - I was by myself so quite big enough. It had a functioning air conditioner and also a fan, which was great as the weather was nearly 40C every day. The shower worked OK and has a shower curtain, which I like because it means the whole bathroom floor does not get wet. My bed was comfortable, although the bottom sheet was too small for the mattress and could not be tucked in at the head or sides. When you check in, you will be given your room key and the remote controls for the air con and TV - I guess people steal them. Wifi works fine. Location near the market is very good and not too far to walk to places to eat and drink. The owner, who has the pharmacy over the road, is very friendly but the staff at the hotel need a good manager. I actually wondered if they were university or college s

Quite a dilapidated and dirty hotel for an establishment of this category! I had never seen a car under a tarpaulin parked in a hotel lobby, the Seng Hout gave me the first glimpse of it!!!! The staff is haughty and not friendly at all! Brooms and dustpans lying around everywhere, broken fans, in short, it's not difficult to find better elsewhere!

The room is spacious and the bathroom too. Good location and fairly new. But very dirty, spiders all over the room and dust on the door moldings that had not been cleaned in years. They also didn't let us pay by card.

For $18 we can't ask for the moon but the elevator is broken, no problem we're on the first floor. The swimming pool is not available. Pretty friendly receptionist. We're going to move this morning. Covid has been there and activity is still rather low.
