My recent trip to Suzhou led me to stay at the Suzhou Marriott, and the overall experience exceeded my expectations. The hotel is located in the heart of Gusu District's old city, making it incredibly convenient to get to Hanshan Temple and Shantang Street by taxi. I was pleasantly surprised to find that booking a room even came with complimentary tickets to Hanshan Temple! The lobby incorporates traditional Jiangnan design, and the charming Suzhou-style garden on the first floor is perfect for photos. The guest rooms are spacious and clean, with floor-to-ceiling windows on higher floors offering panoramic views of the ancient city. The bedding was soft, and the soundproofing was excellent. Lion, a staff member at the breakfast restaurant, was very enthusiastic, and the breakfast selection was incredibly rich, featuring authentic Suzhou red soup noodles and osmanthus pastries. Georgia and Allen at the front desk were gentle and considerate, while Katrina at the service center was quick to respond to requests. The heated pool and gym facilities were also well-equipped. With its five-star quality and excellent location, this hotel is perfect for both travelers and those looking for a short getaway. I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Suzhou.

Hotel near Yangcheng Lake Resort/ HB World,Suzhou

Facilities: As a family traveling from Shanghai primarily for a vacation, we specifically filtered for 5-star hotels opened within the last two years that were also resorts, which led us straight to Marriott. Marriott's reputation is consistently excellent, and this hotel was no exception. The facilities and equipment are very new, especially the pool. It looks brand new, not just in age, but also in its design concept. As you can see from the photos, the blue sky, white clouds, green lawn, light blue lake, and black glass supports reflect beautifully on the pool's surface – a photographer's dream composition. Cleanliness: Very clean. You can walk barefoot on the carpet without a second thought, and there are no unpleasant odors. Service: The gym had bottled water and blankets next to every cardio machine. We had a lot of luggage, and the lobby staff went above and beyond, helping us arrange everything and even proactively bringing a cart to assist with loading and unloading. Definitely a big thumbs up! Environment: The hotel is located in the Yangcheng Lake scenic area. For our weekend trip, we parked our car and left it there, spending both days entirely at the hotel. During a light summer rain, our family enjoyed a leisurely stroll along the lake embankment – it was perfectly pleasant. Parking and EV charging were also very convenient. Restaurant: With its new design concept, this hotel is truly suitable for families with children. For breakfast, there were three cabinets filled with bread, cakes, and ice cream, all of excellent quality. Our child ate 6 waffles! As for the adults, we enjoyed Suzhou-style noodles. There was also an abundance of coffee machines. The overall dining service was excellent, with good guidance and quick table clearing. Even on a busy weekend with many people, the dining experience didn't feel crowded, which was fantastic. Saturday Kids' Lawn Water Battle (50 Crab Coins): We let the kids play freely. The staff proactively provided various water toys and even helped rinse off the bubbles. Highly recommended; we'll definitely return for our next vacation.

This stay exceeded my expectations, I have to give a huge shout-out to the hotel! The breakfast buffet offered an incredibly wide variety of choices: freshly baked croissants, butterfly pastries, Danish pastries, and other Western baked goods were fragrant and so flaky they practically melted in your mouth. For savory options, there were fried eggs, boiled eggs, potato balls, and steamed dumplings. The biggest surprise was the live noodle station where the chef would cook noodles fresh for you, with all sorts of toppings and condiments available – a comforting Chinese breakfast right on the spot! The combination of Chinese and Western options was super satisfying. The room was clean and tidy, and the staff were warm and courteous. Check-in and check-out were very efficient. The overall environment was quiet and comfortable, and the facilities were well-maintained. It was a pleasant experience for both travel and rest, offering excellent value for money. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in the area. Highly recommend!

I told the front desk I was a fan of Mr. Xu, and they upgraded me to a suite. The facilities are indeed good, but the service is very average. I didn't see a single smile from anyone, whether at the front desk or in the executive lounge. The pool is small but the water quality is clean. It's open to the public, so it can get crowded, and there's only one lifeguard who also gives swimming lessons, which is a huge safety concern. The lounge's afternoon tea was supposed to end at 4:30 PM, but by 4:10 PM, some dishes were already empty and not being refilled. I had to ask twice for them to replenish. Room cleaning was also inadequate; there were what looked like bloodstains on the sofa. Only the breakfast service was satisfying; one auntie was smiling throughout and was very friendly and proactive. When the hotel called for feedback, they were still asking for a good review after I told them about the issues, which is quite ridiculous.
