The Flambeau Hideaway, located 20 minutes outside of Mercer, WI, is our 3 bedroom, 2 bath cabin that sits on the shores of Lake Bastine, one of the original lake basins located on the west-central portion of Turtle Flambeau Flowage. The Flowage consists of over 14,000 acres & over 90% of the surrounding land is state owned & undeveloped; which gives off that true wilderness feel. So many outdoor activities! That’s the beauty of the Northwoods - snowmobiling, skiing, fishing, hiking LIST GOES ON!Species of fish on the Flowage include: walleye, musky, largemouth and smallmouth bass, perch, panfish, northern pike and sturgeon. If you are planning on fishing during your stay, please don't hesitate to contact us, as Bret, the owner of the cabin, spends a lot of time on the water and can help provide safe navigational routes and point you in the right direction to have a successful day of fishing. We can also give guide recommendations as well. Every season at the cabin has some sort of outdoor activity to experience. That’s the beauty of the Northwoods, you cant go wrong when to visit, there is outdoor beauty and activity every season! Winter: Direct access to Snowmobiling. The area also offers Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, fat bike trails, ice fishing. Spring: Great time to enjoy the areas 12 waterfalls as the snowfall melts from winter months. Watch walleyes spawning and enjoy opening fishing season for walleye, northern pike, largemouth bass. Musky season opens at the end of May. Summer: Boating, fishing, swimming, wildlife, outdoor bonfires Fall: Enjoy all the leaves changing colors in your car, on your ATV, or bike. We have great late season fishing. The fish are eating extra to fatten up for the winter months. Whether you choose to snowmobile, ATV, bike, boat, ski, hike, fish or simply relax you can do it all here at Flambeau Hideaway. There are a few restaurant/food options in close proximity to the cabin. Donners Bay is a half a mile down the road. The Midway is about 3 miles away from the cabin. Dear Lodge is a 10 minute drive and has excellent pizza. There is a wide assortment of other restaurants/bars along FF. The town of Mercer is 15 miles away and Manitowish Waters is about a 35 minute drive from the cabin. There are many super club options in both of these towns. The Northernwood is an ideal cabin for the adventurous couple or family. Three bedrooms (two bedrooms with queen size beds and one with two twin beds), two baths, great room, washer/dryer, fireplace and outdoor fire pit all add to the comfort/charm of your north woods experience (firewood is not guaranteed, you can pick some up in town). Fully equipped kitchen with coffee maker, ice maker and microwave. Over three acres on a dead-end road provides you with privacy even though you are less than four miles from the quaint town of Mercer with its many shops, restaurants and other amenities. There is direct access to both snowmobile and ATV/UTV trails, and only 2 blocks from shared access to Spider Lake. Echo Lake Retreat is a quiet and cozy ranch style house that features three bedrooms and two full baths. The master bedroom contains a king size bed. The second bedroom has a queen size bed and crib, while the third bedroom has a queen bed. All bedrooms are outfitted with a dresser and plenty of closet space. The Combo game room/dining room , as well as the kitchen and living room have a beautiful view of Echo Lake. The living room features a 65" flat screen Smart TV, The Game room has a 46" Smart TV along with a HMDI port located on the wall under the TV for PlayStation plug in. Wi-Fi is available throughout the cabin. The house features a covered porch and a nice size back yard with a gas grill and fire ring. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, stove, refrigerator and microwave.The kitchen has plenty of counter space and a pantry. There are USB outlets located throughout the house for easy charging of electronic devices. The basement (Gear cave) has a place to hang snowmobiling clothing, a helmet bin, boot drying outlet station and life jacket rack. The property has 2 kayaks, and one canoe for you to use as well as a variety of life jackets. This property is located a mile from downtown Mercer. Additionally it has a private trail from property to trail 17 allowing for easy access for snowmobiling, utving, and atving. The Echo lake public boat launch is located directly across the lake from the property and there is a pier on the property to dock1 boat or pontoon boat and Jet skies. Echo Lake is home to Musky, Pan fish, Large & Small Mouth Bass, Northern Pike, Crappie and Walleye for the avid fishermen.
