"Booked for 2 nights in late March 2025, got a room on the 2nd floor in Building C (the innermost building). You have to walk up the stairs to the 2nd floor. If you get the 2nd floor, you have to park in the middle zone of the hotel, unlike rooms in other buildings that have only one floor. You can park in front of the room if you get a room. // Overall, it is considered moderately good. Before coming, I read many reviews from other people before deciding. People will praise it for being very quiet at night. When sleeping, it will be very dark. There is almost no disturbance, which is very true. There is no noise at all and the room has curtains that are closed. It is pitch black. For those who want to sleep soundly, they should like it. The room is spacious. It looks wider than usual from other hotels. The furniture in the room is good. There is a TV, a mini-bar refrigerator, a work desk, a hot water kettle (no coffee), a hair dryer, 2 bottles of water, a water heater, and a bottle of shampoo and conditioner. We booked the cheapest room. Breakfast was not included in the booking price, which is fine. I usually don't eat breakfast. Points that I would like to fix 1. The air conditioner in the room seems to be small compared to the size of the room. When the air conditioner is turned on, it takes longer than usual to cool down the room. It takes 2-3 hours to cool down. And we came to stay in the summer. The daytime is very hot. And when the air conditioner is too small and slow to cool, I get annoyed at this point. Points that I want to fix 2. - During the day, the room looks dark. The lights in the room are 5 warm-cool downlights. I feel that the area from the door to the middle of the room is too dark. This is because the front of the room has clear glass, but outside the room, there are wooden latticework as a screen to block the view. And I can't fix this. So I feel that there is not enough natural light into the room. Actually, it would be better to remove the wooden lattice because there are already curtains at the clear glass windows. Customers can choose to open and close the curtains to control the amount of light into the room. But when there are wooden latticework, the room is very dark. Normally, I like to work on computers in the room, but this hotel makes me want to work less because I can't control the light in the room. 3. There is no bedside table. Normally, when I go to other hotels, there will be one to put my mobile phone, clock, or other valuables near the headboard. But when there is no bedside table here, I feel strange that there is none. So I have to fix the situation by bringing a chair without a backrest instead. Other things are good. The staff provides good service and speaks well. The housekeeper takes good care of me."

"Great hotel, basic clean and just away from noise. 160m walk from bus station. 200m walk from night food market, excellent... 10-15 mins to Bridge over the River Kwai. 5 mins from CWGC cemetery and museum. 10 mins from train station, timings by mechanical transport. It's a nice walk to the river where the sky walk is. Great price on tours.... ask receptionist... soooo helpful. We stayed longer to explore Kanchanaburi... beautiful town... do the skywalk at sunset 60bht."

"The hotel is on the Kanchanaburi bypass road. Opposite Robinson Lifestyle Kanchanaburi, easy to find, convenient to travel. The rooms are a good size. Good view restaurant The food is diverse and tastes good. There is a cafe inside the hotel where people who are not staying can stop by and buy drinks."

"Located about 7km north west of the town, the staff are all friendly and helpful. I have rented a small motorbike to get me around, a necessity which means I can go where and when I desire, small money so no problem! Have been to the cemeteries and museums to pay my respect to ALL who suffered during those darkest of days. I have also been to the original wooden bridge constructed by the POW’s and others, it is located in the JEATH museum adjacent to the bridge that is in use these days. Entry cost 50 Baht, and there is so much to see that I took two hours inside, would recommend a morning visit so you can view the many items and read the facts behind them at your leisure. The museum has been set up by a local man and is most definitely worth visiting. 100% value for money! I mentioned to a Thai man inside that we were so grateful that people around the area did try to ease the suffering of the POWs, risking their own necks by doing so. My mother was an innocent child at 7 years old, alongside her mother and little sister she waved goodbye to her father, John Francis Egan, he said he was going to work for a while!! After working in Turkey, his ANZAC unit were moved on to Italy, to partake in one of the harder campaigns of the war. His life was taken by a German bullet at Mount Casino, alongside many many others! Please understand how one can feel. I try my hardest to be non judgmental and tolerant these days. I have not walked in your shoes and do not know your story. “Footsteps in the sand” comes to mind at this moment. I have PTSD myself, and I knew coming to Kanchanaburi may get emotional, and it has. Now my mother is 88 years young, and became a great grandma for the second time two weeks ago. Apologies if it got too personal, started as a review of the Phoo Tawan hotel. Words are insufficient, our gratitude to all who risked their own lives and those that paid the ultimate price. Life is precious, please enjoy the moment.
