Location was ok. Front desk service is okish.... security is pretty much on point as well. But the technical team is slow..... i ask for a remote battery replacement and it took me about 40minutes + 3reminders to get it done. End up i had to open my room door and stopped a staff passing by to get help. Was a horrible experience with services.... Room wise its clean and manageable.... facilities is okish.... Breakfast more room for impovement too with variety...

This is a historically important location in Matheran.  Ratheesh and his business partner were so welcoming and helpful and the accommodation is so full of character. For a truly “green” and unique stay in a totally unique location, the Verandah in the Forest is absolutely a must. This is undoubtedly the place to stay in Matheran if you can get a room - would suggest booking early so as not to miss the chance to stay here - and is so much more than a hotel. Food was superb and because of the size and layout, never seemed busy. Quiet and relaxing stay.  As there’s no phone signal in Matheran Hill Station I’d suggest contacting Ratheesh before making the ascent to the hill station for location instructions. There is wi-fi at the Verandah in the Forest. 

The hotel is quite decent and offers good value for a relaxing stay. Although it is an older property, it is well maintained and includes a complimentary swimming pool and adventure activities, which are enjoyable. The location is excellent, with easy access to all the major viewpoints in Matheran. One thing to note is that this is a strictly vegetarian hotel, and non-vegetarian food is not permitted, even if brought from outside. The complimentary breakfast is very basic and does not cater to international tastes. The breakfast options are limited, but still sufficient for a simple meal. The staff are friendly, courteous, and always willing to help. Overall, this is a good property and a worthwhile choice for anyone looking for a comfortable stay in a convenient location.

Property decent and was managed well. The premises and room were kept clean. Also, the complimentary breakfast was very good. Also, property is very close to the beach. Note: you can opt to have meals in the hotel itself meals were very good.

I had booked the room for my husband's birthday and it was the best decision. The room was immaculate and beautifully designed, providing a perfect blend of comfort and luxury. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect of the room. The highlights was the impeccable service. The staff was friendly, attentive, and always ready to assist with a smile.Food options are limited but taste is awesome and staff suggest you with good recommendation. Overall, I highly recommend this resort for anyone looking for a luxurious and relaxing getaway with topmost hygiene standards. The owner is really humble and personally take care of all the needs and see that everything is maintained.It exceeded all my expectations and I can't wait to return.

This resort is very family friendly and you will get memorable experience. Big property, friendly staff, ready to help nature, so many facilities... Kids play area, very hygienic and tasty breakfast with so many options to select with juice, tea, coffee.... Rooms are very big almost 300+ sqft area with balcony.. location is hardly 7-8 min walk from Matheran railway station

”during my recent stay at hotel mari aai, i had a fairly good experience. The hotel's location was convenient, and the staff was generally friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable, and the amenities met my basic needs. However, there were a few areas where improvement is needed. The room interior is not so good. The wi-fi signal was a bit weak, and the breakfast options were somewhat limited. Additionally, there was some noise from neighboring rooms, which affected the overall tranquility of my stay. In summary, hotel mari aai provided a decent stay, but there is room for enhancement in terms of amenities, interior design and noise isolation. I would consider staying here again, depending on my needs for future trips”
