"Although we didn't see the sunrise and sunset in Tang'an due to the weather, we were completely healed by this mountain view homestay. The owner and the owner's wife are very simple locals. Their smiles are full of sincerity from the mountains. "My stay at the Yunqichu Inn at Hefeng Dongyuan was truly unforgettable. I have to give a huge shout-out to the hostess. She personally helped with our luggage at the drop-off point, and upon arrival, she provided us with guides to nearby attractions and restaurants. She even shared tips for avoiding crowds. It felt like a long-time friend.
The inn's ambiance was incredibly comfortable, and I never felt constrained. Every morning, I'd open the window to fresh air, and every evening, I'd return to a peaceful and quiet place, truly relaxing. "Basic room, small bathroom with a tiny sink. The room only has eco-friendly paper towels. There is hot water available. One thing that bothered me was that the heater takes around 24 hours to heat up the room. If you only stay one night here in winter expect it to be a cold one. I found the bed sheets also to be too short for people taller than 1.80m.
Besides the room being average the service provided is far above average. The host made sure I reached the hotel safely and picked me up from the bus stop."

During the two years running Anzhi, I spent over half that time as manager at a five-star homestay, learning systematic and standardized services. I tried bringing those to Anzhi too—hence the praised shuttle rides, breakfasts, and package deals you see in reviews. But I’m sorry to say, I’ve decided to step away from these practices.
I usually take minibuses or pay locals for rides in and out of the village. Packages often include additional sales pitches, and I’m often too busy to eat breakfast myself. These services don’t reflect how I live. To me, a homestay should let guests experience local life—hosts should welcome visitors like old friends, not as waitstaff.
Let’s keep it simple: Anzhi is your restful place in Dong Village, and I’m your guide to this world. After booking, I’ll share my genuine insights and tips to ease your travel worries.
Anzhi is a rare standalone house in the village, always bathed in sunlight—the very reason my volunteer partners and I fell for it two years ago. It’s not new: structural work dates back to 2017, while soft furnishings like mattresses, quilts, bedding, electric blankets, and curtains were refreshed when I took over in 2023.
Rooms are well-proportioned with large wooden-framed windows—downstairs rooms have these, while upstairs ones feature floor-to-ceiling glass. One drawback: bathrooms are compact due to the original layout. If this matters to you, please consider carefully when booking. Still, I warmly invite you to relax in Anzhi’s spacious living room anytime. BTW, we have both western toilet and squat toilet, if you have any preferences, let me know in advance.
This summer (2025), I’m reviving the Long Table Feast gatherings, and our hall will buzz with new energy. Last year’s homemade sandwiches, burgers, pasta, and lemon tea—raved about in reviews—might not return, but whatever we create, you’re welcomed to try. I’m also launching cultural exchanges: a loom now sits in the hall, we’ll host livestreams with embroidery artists and vintage textile buyers, and Dong folk song masters will teach simple melodies.
Beyond hosting, I’m also a psychology counselor. Occasionally, I hold emotional well-being sessions in our hall. If needed, I offer private counseling too—I’m all ears.

"Comfortable accommodation can improve the travel experience. I came from several places all the way. I took a car down the mountain from the inn in Tang'an Dongzhai the day before, and returned to the bustling Zhaoxing Dongzhai. I stayed at the large and spacious Anzhi B&B. It really felt like returning to modern society. Thank you boss for upgrading our room. The hardware and software are good. Although it does not include breakfast, the things recommended by the Anzhi team are delicious! I went to the Xiaoxu dessert shop twice to try various desserts. The Mitsubishi milk cat adopted in the store is very cute. I have to go in and see them every day. The recommended roast pork on the two night markets is also delicious. In the evening, you can hear the resident singing in the nearby tavern (end at 23:00), you can enjoy the rolling red dust when you go out, and you can sleep until noon when you enter the door. At night, there is no need to worry about safety issues when you go outside at 12:00. After the tourists disperse, the atmosphere at night in the stockade is more charming. Stayed for two nights and had a good rest. Finally, the proprietress took the luggage in advance and used her car to take the bus to the entrance of the scenic spot. The whole service is online, the response speed is fast, very satisfied! The scenery of Dongzhai is beautiful. Although there are a lot of people on the main road, you can always find a place to feel comfortable when you walk to the periphery. For example, follow the river upstream, sit at the wind and rain bridge, see the local villagers, the uppermost there are large rice fields and field cafes, there are ducks hidden in the rice, kittens and puppies strolling nearby."

Consider the hotel was located near the entrance gate and need some vehicle before entering the village, thumb up to the service, it save up your money travel. The hotel is located behind another hotel but its fine, they provide a single use of disposable towel, if u need like the regular absorbent cotton towel need to request the aunty, they also run a restaurant just across the road so u can have some meals over there also. The hot water need to wait for 20 minutes prior heating so need to wait a bit ya. One of the things that need for improvement is the laundry service, during my trip i was told the machine was not working so i need to went across the road whereby the laundry is locating beside their restaurant, no dryer available ,only regular washing and hang up at their balcony after spin. But the response by the owner by wechat was 👍🏻, any problem just reach up to them.

GGuest UserB&Bs are all on stilts, and the wooden houses are not well insulated, so I just randomly booked this one. If you have trouble sleeping, you can choose to stay in a higher room or live outside the Dong Village. We live on the fourth floor. As soon as we entered the door of the B&B, the grandma who embroidered the sachets said to me ”Here we come” and it made me feel very warm. The boss will also pick us up at the entrance of Dong Village and help us carry our luggage. The landlady will wash and lay out the sheets and help us carry our luggage upstairs. He also asked us to walk softly, be quiet and respect each other. The room has plenty of hot water and the air conditioner is new. The location in the middle of the village is very lively. I thought it would be noisy when there was a bar singing at night, but it was okay. It's just that the height of the toilet room is low, and the roof leaks a little when it rains all the time. Before I left, I told the boss lady and she apologized to me🤦♀️ At night I only heard the sound of rain and the sounds of cats and roosters. When I woke up in the morning and opened the window, I saw rain hitting the tiles, and a kitten came to say hello. It feels like a family house. We are very careful when staying in it and even help to clean it up when leaving. I casually booked a B&B for a hundred yuan, and it turned out to be the most cost-effective B&B I’ve ever stayed in in Guizhou.

Entry and exit are prohibited in the village at 19 o'clock. We got off the high-speed train a little late and could not pick up the car. DDengshijianjiaxuThe B&B is a brick building, which offers better soundproofing than a wooden building. Some children were a bit noisy, but fortunately, the brick structure didn't disrupt sleep. Those without children should avoid summer vacation. The owner was very friendly and welcoming, and we had a wonderful stay. The room rate is reasonable, and transportation isn't included, but if you contact us at least a day in advance, they can help arrange a car (at your own expense). The owner helped arrange the car we left with, and they also provide information on renting electric scooters. However, the road to the Tang'an Rice Terraces is quite winding, so if you're not a skilled cyclist, we recommend taking a minibus. The sunset at the Tang'an Rice Terraces was absolutely worth it. Aside from the long line down the mountain, there were no other complaints. Check-out is at noon, and our car left after 3:00 PM, so they let us leave our luggage at the front desk, which was a great relief.
