Great location in Zhaoxing overlooking the historical village in a very quiet area, perfect for who needs rest from the hustle of Chinas big cities. Beautiful, carefully designed and furnished room with wooden floors furniture, very comfortable beds and great bathrooms. Lots of little extras, like a beautiful reception area with balcony, a generous fruit basket refilled every day, great and healthy breakfast, pick up service from the train station etc. Young and very friendly hosts, english is hardly spoken but with a translation app communication is easy and the staff are keen on helping you with any questions. As the house was not fully booked, they surprised us with a free upgrade to a larger room. Over all, an amazing experience!"

"Me and my girlfriend got picked up at Congjiang train station which was very convenient. Right from the start the owners of the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. The accomodation is located at the back of the village next to a field where they grow rapeseed flowers and rice during the year. For us the location was perfect as it is very peaceful and quiet but simultaneously litterally a few steps away from the beautiful vibrant little village. The room was very spacious and clean with a gorgeous view on the field. The interior is very well matched and has great facilities. There was even a small laundry machine so we could do some laundry ourselves. So far during our travels in China, this stay was the best we had! There is a very stylish and cute coffee/restaurant located on the first floor of the building. This is also where you will have a delicious breakfast and where Ni Li and her sister will greet you with a smile every time you walk by. Ni Li, her husband Tao Mingqing, her sister and brother played a crucial part during our stay as after the first night my wife got very sick due to an infection and barely left the room during our stay. The second night I got foodpoisoning which made the situation even worse. (Not from the hotel!). We ended up extending our stay due to her condition. Luckily Li's English is very good so that helped us a lot in navigating the medical difficulties. We were extremely lucky to be staying with Li and her family as they took care of us like we were their own family. Preparing custom meals and dinner tailored to our needs every single day, preparing us tea, calling the local doctors and translating and taking us to the local hospital back and forth multiple times. We were there during the Qingming festival so no cars were allowed in the village which made it more difficult to reach the hospital. This didn't stop Tao Mingqing as he took us to the local hospital several times on the motorbike, one by one! The last time I even forgot a bag and he even went back to get it for me! He truly is a legend. Fortunately, my recovery was fairly quickly so I had the chance to explore the village a little by myself and spend time with Li and Ming while staying close to the room for my girlfriend. On day 4 my girlfriend's fever was coming down and she improved a little. Li and Ming invited us to have tea with them. Ming showed me his vast collection of tea and made sure to prepare the best tea suitable for our condition. The tea was truly amazing and he ended up filling a big bag with different kinds of teas as a gift for us! And that was not it, to make sure we would never forget them and drink tea mindfully the Chinese way when we're back home, they gave us the tea cups we used traditionally decorated with the blue dragon and phoenix. It was a very stressful situation and when we felt at our most fragile, they were there to take care of us, strangers they just met. This says everything about these wonderful people. Even though the illness of my girlfriend and the rough situation, we think back to our stay with a very warm hearth as our special experience forged a bond we'll never forget. We are incredibly lucky to have met Li and her family. We have said thank you to them 100s of times already, but I can't express enough how grateful I am for this people. Thank you for taking care of us like your family!!! ＜3 If you are unsure about staying here, there is truly no reason why you shouldn't! Whatever the situation, Li and her family will do everything they can to improve your stay. I'm sure you'll have a blast!"

However, a strong recommendation: definitely rent a motorcycle in Zhaoxing Ancient Town! Riding a motorcycle through the terraced fields in the early morning, surrounded by mist and rolling rice paddies, the moment the sunlight shines through is breathtakingly beautiful. 💁 Attentive Service to the Core: From the moment of booking, a butler contacted us for pick-up and drop-off, and even turned on the air conditioning in advance—a delight for those who appreciate attention to detail! Free breakfast and unlimited refills of freshly ground coffee. 🛏 Rooms Facing the Rice Terraces, Super New Facilities: Our "Sunset Rice Terraces Room" offered unbeatable views. The bedding was clean and soft, there was a mini-fridge with unlimited drinks, and smart home appliances and a projector. The biggest surprise was being able to watch the sunset and starry sky from the room or terrace – totally worth the price! 🏍️ Motorcycles + Morning Rice Terraces: Unlock a Hidden Perspective: Again! Renting a motorcycle is incredibly worthwhile – ride to Tang'an Rice Terraces or the surrounding area at 6 am. With the mist still rising and the sun just emerging, the terraces are like a mirror, every shot a masterpiece (10 times better than the daytime crowds!). 🌟 Excellent Overall Value: Includes pick-up and drop-off, breakfast, coffee, and parking. For just over 200 RMB per person, you get a stay with a thousand-dollar experience. Perfect for nature lovers, those who appreciate tranquility, and those who enjoy in-depth travel; suitable for families, couples, and solo travelers. ------ In summary: Shanyeli is a guesthouse that touches people with its attention to detail. If I come to Zhaoxing again, I will definitely stay a second time! Remember: rent a car and get up early to unlock the ultimate romance of Guizhou's terraced fields!"

The attention to detail was exceptional! They were enthusiastic and reliable throughout, providing an amazing experience. I highly recommend everyone to stay here!"

"I came many times in this hotel, his location near the gate and beside the park is very quiet. No noise, no car. The staff don’t speak English but is really helpful and friendly. Hotel can provide tickets for the attractions at lower price, just ask them. Also they will tell you the best places to visit in the village. Breakfast is only local noddles but I found them delicious. Of course, if you have car, you need to park at the gate of the village and take a shuttle bus. This is mandatory. No tourist cars in the village. Hundred of restaurants in the village, so no problem for this."

"We stayed for two days. As soon as we got off the high-speed train, the owner was already waiting for us and escorted us to the village gate. A young man came out and showed us around the hotel, explaining everything as he went. The hotel's location was excellent, very close to the main street, making it convenient for dining and shopping. The view from the window was beautiful, overlooking the village. The room design and amenities were excellent. The bathroom had a separate shower and toilet, and the toiletries were all TOTO. They provided plenty of disposable items (bath bags, toothpaste, toothbrushes, disposable towels, etc.), and the quality was even better than what I brought myself—great! The cleanliness was also excellent. The breakfast was beautiful and delicious. It rained these past few days, and the young man even offered to bring us umbrellas while we were out. I'm so glad I booked such a wonderful hotel and met such a great young man during this trip. Thumbs up! I'll definitely come back next time!"

It's nestled halfway up the mountain, a bit further from the village, but you don't need to worry about getting around at all. The hosts provide thoughtful pick-up and drop-off service throughout your stay, which is super convenient. After a day out exploring, the young guy would always warmly ask if we wanted anything to drink, which was especially heartwarming. The breakfast was authentic and delicious, and 'Sister Hua' (the hostess) was incredibly kind and approachable, always reminding us to eat more to fill up. Finding such a lovely place on our trip was truly comforting and restorative. I wholeheartedly recommend it!"

It is very pleasant to sit by the window of the restaurant in the morning and enjoy the view. The girls at the front desk are also very gentle and the service is very thoughtful. The hand-ground coffee in the restaurant is also very fragrant. Compared with Qianhu Miao Village, this place is more suitable for staying for a few days to see and play slowly. I feel that sitting in the restaurant on the first floor to enjoy the scenery and drink coffee, slowing down and enjoying life, is the real meaning of travel"
