La Place Country Cottages

Sitting by the pool with a very heavy heart waiting to be taken to the airport. What a fabulous hotel absolutely nothing to complain about. The rooms are spotlessly clean as is the rest of the hotel. The food in the restaurant and bar is superb. The courtesy transport is definitely going above & beyond expectations. However what makes this hotel even better than the facilities are the staff. Warm friendly and polite. Nothing is too much trouble for any of them. We are sad that the hotel is closing as we would be back in a heartbeat. Wishing all the staff all the very best for their next adventures. The self catering accommodation looks lovely for anybody using this. Thank you La Place for a superb stay.

We visited the hotel for a four-day stay in September 2025.Upon arrival we were greeted by the reception member of staff who was friendly and helpful.All the staff at the hotel couldn't do enough for us.Our room was lovely with a fab view of the pool.The thick cotton towels in the bathroom were especially luxurious.We dined at the hotel and the food was truly sumptuous.Patrick and Marcus in the restaurant took special care of us but all the staff were exceptional.The breakfasts were amazing with plenty of choice.Sad to say the hotel is closing at the end of October for conversion to self catering cottages to join the rest of the estate.We has a fabulous stay thank you La Place.

La Place is a sanctuary in this busy world. Just me and adult daughter with special needs and wow were we looked after. The exceptional quality, surroundings and friendliness made our holiday so memorable. Staff are out of this world with private taxi service to certain areas nearby, all free of charge. . Nothing too much trouble. We will be back! Thanks once again to you all .

Just returned from La Place having spent a wonderful week (in spite of the weather) in one of the cottages. This is by far the best self catering accommodation we have ever found and full use of the hotel facilities gave us the best of both worlds. Excellent food in the restaurant, staff couldn't do enough for us, beautiful accommodation throughout and free lifts to local areas. So sad the hotel is closing in October to be replaced with all self catering units. I wish we had found it years ago. A slice of 'old England' where customers mattered. Thank you all for such a brilliant stay.

The ambience, staff, atmosphere, food, location and cleanliness of this hotel was great. However, it was evident that due to the hotel closing in October to make way for 16 self catering apartments, that things like the pool, the pool area, sun beds and umbrellas were just not cared for. Lounges that we sat on had nuts and bolts missing - when this was pointed out we were told that Carlos would deal with it. It never was. The bottom of the pool was dirty in places and we never saw it being cleaned. The pool area was not pleasant to sit round because of this. What we thought was a pizza oven outside was permanently covered up and the seating cushions were not clean. The inside of the hotel was clean in all the areas we frequented and our bathroom was spotless. This hotel has repeat guests year on year and to turn all that away to me is a big mistake. I am speculating here but I should say the owner wants less overheads in terms of staff. The money it will cost, in my opinion, could be better spent by making this hotel the best on the island. Updating flooring in all of the rooms, a total revamp of the outside area, including the add on conservatory which looks tired with a dirty draped material ceiling and a super stunning new pool with proper table and chairs and luxury lounges with a proper tiled area around the whole of the pool. The removal of all the plastic false flowers outside the foyer and the removal of the Ivy that covers the front of the hotel. This hotel could be made lovely. A grave mistake I feel by the owner because none of the repeat guests will return to pay for self catering apartments, why ? Because guests don’t want to cook when they are on holiday, they want to be pampered, remembered and most of all want the interaction with staff and other guests alike.

We have just spent another fantastic few days in the hotel La Place. All the staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome from the moment you get collected from the airport. The food is superb, the atmosphere is relaxed and everyone is helpful and cheerful, all wanting to make your stay as enjoyable as they can. We have never found anything a negative during our stays here, which is rare these days!. Unfortunately it is closing in October to be turned into country cottages but this did not show in the service we were given or the standard of the accommodation; the staff treated us in the same impeccable way as previously. If you have a chance to visit beforehand then do so for a wonderful Jersey experience. We wish all the staff Good Luck for the future ventures.
