Golden Sands
9.1 (103 reviews)

Golden Sands ★★★★

📍 La Route de la Baie, St Brelade

"When I searched for posts about accommodations in Jersey, nine out of ten recommended the Golden Sands Hotel, so my friends and I booked it. We were initially very satisfied with the hotel; the location was excellent, and the beach was right outside our room. However, we quickly discovered that the room type wasn't as described. We had booked a triple room (the trip clearly stated that the hotel would randomly assign us three single beds or one double bed and one single bed). We went to the front desk to discuss this, and she said she could separate the beds for us the next day (but even that wasn't the rule). There were three of us, which is why we booked a triple room. The front desk said that three people weren't allowed to stay in the room, so why didn't we just book a double room? It would have been cheaper. We found another hotel and had one friend stay there alone. However, the hotel front desk kept calling to urge our friend to leave. Don't we even have the right to have a friend in our room? The hotel should spend less on advertising and more on training its staff. The front desk staff who initially greeted us seemed to be trying to find us throughout the hotel. It felt like they had told all their colleagues about us, and they kept staring at us as soon as we left. It was extremely rude and made for a terrible experience!"

"A lovely place. Food is wonderful. We stayed for 3 nights and the staff were amazing. I have no idea why the owners don’t have some nostalgic “Bergerac” related photos on the wall as that’s the only reason why we went. The views from the room we stayed in are fabulous."

La Haule Manor ★★★★★

📍 La Neuve Route, St Brelade

"Scrittura A beautiful sunny day, a fantastic atmosphere and an amazing location — a little piece of paradise. All of this was perfectly complemented by a delicious Sunday roast enjoyed at Haule Manor. The setting alone is worth everything anyone could wish for in a special moment or a time to truly relax. I would like to thank all the staff, especially Rami and Tracey, and leave a five-star review only because I cannot leave ten. ❤️I highly recommend the venue, the hotel, the drinks and the food, but above all, this is a place where you can genuinely relax and switch off from everything. See you soon!"

Somerville Hotel ★★★★
"This is a wonderful hotel in a fantastic location. There is an up hill walk to the hotel I have a knee problems but I made it in 5 minutes. At the front there is a number 15 bus that take you to the airport and to the capital. It also has room for cases. It runs every 15 minuted during the day. Breakfast with a view is wonderful. The one thing that I would like is a walk in shower anf that would make it perfect."

La Haule Manor ★★★★★
"We stayed in the beautiful La Haule Manor this week from Monday to Friday. As very fussy guests normally, we struggled to find anything to be disappointed about at the hotel. The first impressions are beautiful, it's stylish, clean and welcoming. We stayed in room 12 which was absolutely gorgeous. A spacious suite with a balcony. Whilst there was a review complaining that the balcony was brick and they couldn't see the beach whilst sitting down, I actually preferred this because it gave me the privacy needed when sitting in my robe with a cup of tea. The beach is just over the road and very visible if you stand up. The room itself was perfect, comfortable, warm and fully equipped with everything we needed. We were very impressed with the generosity of the tea and coffee tray. Having stayed at a high end hotel in Washington DC last year and being supplied with basic paper cups and standard decaf & caffeinated tea and coffee this felt like a luxury. The tray includes a selection of teas herbal, breakfast and decaf. Coffee both caffeinated and decaf and cappuccino pods for the coffee machine. We had complimentary water, biscuits and chocolate raisins which is more generous than other hotels. The rooms are so quiet, my pet hate in budget hotels is the banging of doors and noise from guests running up and down corridors. This is not a problem at La Haule Manor as its incredibly peaceful. We had no issues sleeping as its quiet and comfortable. There are no lifts and I have noticed that this has been an issue for other guests. They are transparent about this at the time of booking and having stayed for a week I understand the building is one of the first in the Island, to implement one would damage the building and is not viable. It is a beautiful building but if you have mobility issues you may want to contact the hotel to book you on the bottom floor but there are steps into the hotel itself. The food is delicious and the hotel staff are amazing. They can't do enough for you. Tracy the hotel manager made our stay very special and went the extra mile. They even prepared a dinner for us that wasn't on the menu. Just fabulous. The bathrooms was beautiful, so spacious. We had robes, slippers and large lovely quality bath towels. Our suite had a bath and shower and as a bath lover I fully enjoyed a soak in the slipper bath. Some reviews mentioned the lack of a shower but most hotels have showers over baths, I really enjoyed a soak after a day of exploring. There was lovely products to use The White company bath and shower gel with body wash so a luxury! The location of the hotel is perfect as you can catch the bus right outside the hotel to St Helier. The town itself is a nice place to explore but you can also catch a bus from the Central bus stop in St Helier to the war tunnels, Durrell Zoo, Glass church or St Helier Market Hall. There's plenty to do and see. I am a person who reads reviews to confirm my holiday stay and I would absolu"

"Beau Rivage is a gem on Brelades Bay. We stayed in a seaview/balcony appartment with the best view ever! Elisabeta and staff are wonderful and a credit to the hotel. Everywhere is immaculate, beds are comfy and the welcome pack is most welcome! Milk and water are replenished daily. Our appartment was cosy and had everything we needed to enhance our stay. Well done to all staff. We cant wait to stay again!!"
