The Cornaro is in a wonderful location. My husband and I stayed for 5 nights. The room was comfortable, and the breakfast spread had tons of variety. The hotel has two entrances. The one that you can drive up to is not the main reception. We didn't realize that, so it was a bit confusing to be told our room was on "the other side" and for whatever reason they would not give us instructions on how to walk to the main reception. We tend to like to carry our own luggage and not use the bellmen, but it was literally impossible. After walking to the other side to check in, we still don't know why we couldn't have done it ourselves without being escorted. Room was huge, and the bathroom was large as well. Our room faced west, and there was a heat wave during that time. With the sun streaming in the huge windows in the bedroom and bathroom, the room was quite warm (about 23C). We tried to use the thermostat and found that we couldn't control our own temperature. You had to call the front desk to ask them to adjust it. This is one area that was a bit annoying. Food and drink prices are very expensive at this hotel. Even with lunch being at a 20% discount, it was still way higher than the nice restaurants in town. Fortunately, with its good location, there are plenty of dining options. Cornaro is literally in the old town area, so it was easy to get to places. There are also lots of little markets where you can get water and snacks. The hotel arranged the ride for us to the Split airport since our flight was very early and we didn't want to take a chance with taxis. It was 99 euros, which felt steep. But the driver was very nice and professional. Overall, great location. Breakfast is a standout, and the rest was just okay.
