Great
GGuest UserPerfect location for everything we walked everywhere as the main attractions and bazaars were within 5 mins walking. Left was Hagia Sofia. Palace etc, right were bazaars...straight down was the sea. The hotel was lovely, and breakfast had everything I liked and more. The view from the top was amazing; you could see all across Istanbul. Our room was very clean, and we even had soothing music in the bathroom, which was a really nice touch. I gave 4 stars for amenities because although the hotel has a spa, I was really hoping for a hammam experience and unfortunately it was mixed. If they offered an hour or even part of the day for ladies only, this hotel would be an absolute winner. One small downside was that our taxi couldn’t drop us off or pick us up directly outside the hotel, so we had to walk about 3 minutes. That said, the area felt very safe we walked out at 10pm as two women and felt completely comfortable. There’s even a police station right opposite the hotel! Overall, a great stay and I’d definitely recommend it.

KKuailechuxing339The Pera Palace Hotel is like a vintage edition. Commissioned in 1892 and opened in 1895, it was designed by the French-Ottoman architect Alexander Vallaury. Its original purpose was to provide luxurious accommodation for Orient Express VIPs, earning it the reputation as Turkey's oldest European-style hotel. It was the first electrified building outside the Ottoman imperial palace and the only place in the city to offer hot water, boasting Istanbul's first electric elevator. **Key Historical Guests:** * **Mustafa Kemal Atatürk:** Stayed multiple times starting in 1917. Room 101, where he made important decisions, has now been converted into a museum displaying his belongings. * **Agatha Christie:** A frequent guest from 1926–1932. Room 411 is famously where she wrote ******* on the Orient Express* and is preserved today as a themed room. Other notable guests include Hemingway, Churchill, Edward VIII, and Hitchcock, making it a social hub for the era's elite. The bedding is comfortable, and the location is convenient. I was inspired to visit after watching the Turkish series *Pera Palace*, and I highly recommend it. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent and refined.

LLibukaidechenghuaThe rooms were, as always, very comfortable, and the bathroom system was excellent. The hotel view was also beautiful, especially from the breakfast restaurant, in the innermost corner, where you can see the strait – truly a delightful breakfast experience. If I had to pick a downside, it would be the surprisingly strict security check to enter The Ritz-Carlton in Istanbul, where both people and bags have to be scanned! I later found out that many diplomats stay here… so… you get it. The hotel provided various chocolates, as shown in the picture. The toiletries cost 45 Euros per bottle if you take them home, but you can use them freely inside the hotel. There were many old maps of Istanbul in the hallway, and my child spent a long time studying them with great interest.

GGuest UserI stayed at Roco Hotel in Taksim for about two weeks after getting stranded while traveling to the Middle East and needing to quickly find a place to stay while figuring out my next steps during a period of regional tensions. The reception was calm and very accommodating when I arrived. They upgraded me to a room the first night, and when I later extended my stay, they moved me to another room, both of which were comfortable. Housekeeping kept the room very clean and laundry service was available, which was helpful during a longer stay. The location is excellent. It is right in the middle of Taksim with easy walking access to Istiklal Avenue, the mosque, restaurants, markets, pharmacies, ATMs, and multiple currency exchange offices. It’s a very convenient area if you want quick access to many things in the city, and restaurants nearby can also deliver food directly to the hotel if you prefer to stay in. The staff were friendly and welcoming, from the reception team to the housekeeping staff. My only complaint was the amount of solicitation through WhatsApp after I shared my contact information. When I extended my reservation, I received repeated messages about prices and tours, which felt a bit overwhelming. It would be better if communication was limited to necessary hotel matters unless the guest specifically asks for additional services. Overall, I had a good experience and would recommend the hotel, especially for short stays. The location alone makes it a great base for exploring Istanbul.

GGuest UserWe enjoyed our stay at this hotel and liked its location. Staff are friendly and helpful and we appreciated the daily room cleaning and reset. The best feature of the hotel is that it is well situated to explore Istanbul and is about a 10 minute walk to the Sultanahmet Square where you will find many of the main attractions in Istanbul like Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. There is a tram line station very close to the hotel and it is a short walk to Sirkeci metro station. It was a good base for us as we checked out the areas across the water. It is a little far from both airports with each taking about 1.5 hours to get to but we felt the location was worth the time. The room's decor was a bit aged but charming. The beds were comfy and you can get extra pillows here. The room ran a bit warm during our stay but it was a bit noisy outside with frequent tram trains and restaurants below so we kept the window shut. They do have air conditioning and a radiator but we felt the AC wasn't worth turning on during a cool stay in December. Our neighbours were a bit noisy and it kept my wife up but I had no issues sleeping. It was moderately inconvenient when the restaurant decided to pop their new year's eve decorations at 1 in the morning. The bathroom was good and clean with good shower pressure, soft towels and we appreciated the warming rack for the towels. They provide soap and shampoo in dispensers in the shower. The breakfast was decent enough to start the day. They had enough to do a Turkish style breakfast and most options were pretty light. They had some hot items like sausage, scrambled eggs and other options that changed daily. They also had an area for cold items like cheese, labneh, yoghurt, vegetables and some cold cuts. They had a limited selection of fruit with some oranges and apples. They also had coffee, tea, juice and water. I had an early check out on my last day and they made me a nice bagged lunch to go to the airport with and have me a big can of juice which was very nice. The hotel provides bottled water for guests as well as lots of tea for in room use. The hotel has a restaurant on site and a small outdoor patio that is open for lunch, dinner and late dinner. They have some spa and massage treatments that you can book at the front desk. There are quite a few bath, restaurants, shops and other experiences nearby. People in the area are very friendly, welcoming and will invite you into their shop or restaurant...frequently.

DDAM1From the moment I arrived, the experience was smooth and welcoming. The check-in was fast, and the warm cookie was a lovely touch. My room was spotless, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed. The staff were incredibly friendly, always smiling and ready to help. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety of fresh options. The hotel’s location was also convenient, close to everything I needed. I truly appreciated the attention to detail and the overall comfort during my stay. Highly recommended — I’ll definitely be coming back!

DDawood Al-SalmanUpon arrival we received a room facing the main street. We could not sleep well because of the noise of the cars, but the next day the room was replaced with a quieter one. Thanks to the understanding staff. Everything was good, but the room's bathroom is old and needs maintenance and updating.

AAkif. My first night was a disaster because my room's power supply kept cutting off and they took almost 3 to 4 hours to fix it, due to that I couldn't sleep the whole night and my morning plans got wasted too. I asked the hotel manager Mr.Arda to give me an extra night, (he refused), airport transfer on my checkout date , (he refused) , room upgrade, (he refused) , Then Mr Arda promised us a complimentary dinner at the rooftop restaurant and that was amazing .My initial plan was to stay 3 nights but then I extended it for 2 more nights because of 1 man Mr.Karem at the reception , the nicest guy of the hotel , Mr.Karem and Mr.Arda helped us alot and supported us in every aspect, but sorry to say all the other staff members there had just 1 answer. im sorry we cannot help you we cannot help you , I'll definitely visit again, Thanks to Mr.Arda and Mr.Karem ❤️ and lastly thanks to Mr.Servet who told us about the free shuttle service provided by the hotel which takes us to Taksim . Thank you, Double Tree Regards Akif
