"The hotel's location is unbeatable; it's right across from the LRT station, making it super convenient to get to all the attractions. You can even walk to the Grand Bazaar. There are also plenty of dining options nearby. Just a heads-up for light sleepers, though, as it might be a bit noisy."

📍 Bostan, Küçük Odalar Sk. No: 9, Beyoglu, Istanbul

"Overall, it was a good stay. The staff were amazing and could communicate in English very well. The room was clean. The electric kettle was not working, but they replaced it for me as soon as they noticed the issue. The safe was quite large, but unfortunately, my 15.6-inch laptop did not fit inside. I should also mention that the room I was given was different from the one I had booked, and it was in slightly worse condition in terms of appearance. However, since other things were more important to me, it was okay. Overall, I would give it a 3.6 out of 5."

Akka Suites Taksim-Special Class

Akka Suites Taksim-Special Class ★★★

📍 İstiklal Caddesi, Ayhan Işık Sk. No: 11, Beyoglu, Istanbul

"The hotel left me with mixed feelings. On its own, it's genuinely good: spacious and clean rooms, comfortable beds and pillows, daily housekeeping, no issues with shower water, and stable Wi-Fi throughout the property. The staff is very polite and responsive, and there are Russian-speaking employees. When we asked to change rooms, it was done quickly and without any hassle. However, there's one huge drawback that ruined the entire stay. For the first three nights, we stayed in room 1001 on the first floor. Directly beneath the windows is the 'Gagarin' bar, where music and noise continue practically until five in the morning. It was impossible to sleep, even with earplugs. Furthermore, due to its proximity to the reception, everything happening in the corridor was perfectly audible. In the room itself, the toilet was also slightly leaking. After moving to a different building, it became noticeably quieter, but complete silence was still elusive. For those who come for an active vacation and just want a good night's sleep in the evening, this could be a serious problem. The breakfasts are quite decent, but without much variety – a solid 4 out of 5 in my opinion. Overall, I'd rate the hotel a 4 out of 5. It has an excellent location, good rooms, and wonderful staff. But I personally won't return for one reason only: I couldn't get a decent night's sleep here. It's a real shame, because in all other respects, the hotel truly deserves a high rating. The photos only show the bed from the first room, it's definitely half a meter high, very tall and comfortable 😅 and everything else is from the other building, right next to the descent to the dining hall, where all the cooking was perfectly audible from around 6 AM :("

Chambers of the Boheme
8.4 (26 reviews)

Chambers of the Boheme ★★★

📍 Katip Mustafa Çelebi, Küçük Parmakkapı Sk. No: 13, Beyoglu, Istanbul

"A terrible hostel. Everything is noisy: the furniture, the windows, the stairs—you can hear every step, a terrible creaking. The bed is on the second bunk; there are no outlets nearby, no curtain either—no way to block out the light. Towels are not provided. Guests come at all hours, and they didn't let me sleep all night: drunk, noisy, one after another. You can hear every word. The entrance is a complete circus. There's a "Call" sign on the hostel door. How can I call if there's no internet and no bell? I tried, but no one answered. A random girl let me in with her chip. I absolutely do not recommend it. A waste of money."

DNZ Taksim Feridiye Hotel

DNZ Taksim Feridiye Hotel ★★★

Golden Age Hotel Taksim

"This was a convenient option for a one-night stay. We chose it specifically for its proximity to the airport shuttles and metro, and we weren't disappointed. Location 10/10! However, we wouldn't have wanted to stay more than one night in our room category. Besides the location, the comfortable beds were a plus. And that's pretty much it. Despite booking an "improved room," the room was in rather poor condition – bad lighting, the bathroom didn't feel clean, scratched furniture, dirty walls and carpet, and a dirty kettle (it would be good to clean or replace it). It wasn't very pleasant to be in the room. It was extremely noisy! There was absolutely no soundproofing from the hallway; all the rustling, conversations, and movements felt like they were happening inside our room, not just outside the door. We didn't use any of the hotel's additional services, so I can't comment on them."

"My stay here was fantastic! The hotel front desk staff were incredibly friendly and even upgraded my room when possible, offering lots of helpful tips. The room itself was spacious, well-equipped, and clean, and the bed was so comfortable. After a tiring first day, I showered and fell asleep almost instantly. The only minor issue was the shower drainage in the bathroom, which was a bit slow and caused water to pool. The hotel's location is excellent, right next to the tram station, and the price was quite reasonable. Plus, the breakfast spread was extensive. This hotel is definitely worth considering for anyone visiting Istanbul."

"Let me break down my review: **Pros:** 1. The staff were excellent. They were proactive in their communication, and every time I returned, they'd actively stand up and greet me with a "HOW ARE YOU." 2. The front desk staff were also very helpful when I asked for directions. 3. The room was clean, the carpet showed no signs of dirt, and after cleaning, they would spray a fragrance, so there were no unpleasant odors. 4. We arrived an hour early, and they allowed us to check in after waiting just 20 minutes. **Cons:** 1. The toilet seat was broken. I was already very tired, and since we had checked in early, I didn't ask for a room change. However, it was really inconvenient because it moved around while I was using it. 2. The complimentary drinking water provided was just a small cup; other hotels usually offer bottled water. 3. The curtains were too narrow and couldn't close properly (you can see in the pictures). I even had to pull and stick them together myself, otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to sleep well (as I'm sensitive to light). 4. There's a house renovation project going on downstairs, and there was a lot of noise even at 10:30 PM. Closing the window helped a lot, but it was still loud. So, if you don't like noisy city areas, be aware ⚠️. 5. The breakfast was the simplest I've had in Turkey. As you can see in the pictures, the egg pancake was an extra charge, so I didn't order it. But it might have been really cheap, which explains it. Overall, while the price was affordable, when you're traveling, you truly realize how important comfort is once you've stayed somewhere. So, next time, I will choose a place with a better environment."
