JJake Vaughan 杰克Amazing hostel with cozy interior and a really lovely host who made the stay extra enjoyable! The location was ideal for me as the hostel is high enough up the hill that you get an stunning view but still only have to walk around 10 minutes (up/down hill) to get to the centre of the city. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the common area for relaxing is beautifully decorated in traditional ******* style. The host was really helpful and caring (always bringing us tea and snacks) and we had some great conversations with her about life in Kangding. She gave us lots of advice on what to do in the city, helped us out organizing cheap transport back to Chengdu, and even made us a super unique and delicious fusion meal of yak steak with salad. Highly recommend if you’re looking for somewhere with a traditional feel and a great view!

GGuest UserThere were no blue skies and white clouds in Xinduqiao when it rained, but I was fortunate to have found a great hotel with a large public space. I could sit by the window and read a book with the mountains and trees nearby, and I could spend the whole day. There would be a bonfire party on a sunny night. , dancing and singing, steaming. The room has floor heating and oxygen supply, which is very friendly to tourists who are afraid of altitude sickness. The room I live in has a small courtyard on the first floor, where I can make a cup of yak milk and listen to my husband playing and singing.

GGuest UserThe hotel is very comfortable and the supplies are very good. The service is very good, helping to carry the luggage and preparing fruits, which is very good. Because it is on the mountainside, thanks to the boss for helping to park the wrong car. There is a mountain view outside the window, and there is a small balcony. It is super comfortable and highly recommended. The only thing is that after going to the city center for dinner, you have to climb a little bit of the mountain to go back to the room, but the boss can pick you up. The service is really amazing.

AAmanda_SofiaHostel is at a 5min walk from the busstation which is very conventient. It is quite a walk from there to the center of the city though. It was a bit difficult to find as the entrance is at the entrance of a different hotel and you have to go to the upper floor to enter the hostel.
Female dormroom is quite small and there is almost no space to leave your luggage.
The bedsheets weren't clean, and clearly used before.
Plenty of toilets and showers available, which were quite clean. The family who runs the hostel is very kind but they don't seem to know much about activities such as hiking in the area.
Wifi available in the common area.
Okay for one or two nights.

BBrianaWe enjoyed the opportunity to have a hotel in Kangding that provided an authentic ******* feel! The room was very comfortable with all necessary amenities covered. When we needed help to organize some logistics, the husband and wife owners went out of their way to talk with us on WeChat and solve our needs. The trip would have been difficult without their help. Overall the hotel is beautiful and comfortable, just the location is up a steep hill which was an intense walk with our backpacks.

BBingcunI booked the ”river view” room on the 13th floor and obviously, I stuck gold after cranking my head from my room window, looking down to the raging water roaring through the river in the center of the city street. When I said ”raging” water, I meant cascading flows that echo through the entire city block. I had seen such terrain in Switzerland before but this is more impressive.
So ”location” is the biggest merit and I would recommend never sparing the money in exchange for the river=side room. Plus, the hotel is looking against the famous ”Love Song” Plaza of KarnDin City. For those who wonder what the big deal is about the ”KangDin Love Song”. For starters, it is a part of the Chinese growing-up song that is deeply entrenched in education, for even a person raised in Taiwan, let alone ethnical Chinese in the Mailand. It is more like a pilgrimage than touring that brought many to the city.
The smaller plaza right in front of the hotel lobby begins to gather impromptu dances at about 8 pm (Beijing time, local time ~ 6 p.m.). I admire the local Tibetans of all ages whose spontaneity sways with the music. The hotel doorman told me that yes, there were Han tourists also in the troupe, but you could usually tell them apart because they were the awkward-looking ones.
I have no complaints about the service, and I appreciate the enthusiasm the front desk people show when I try to gather information.
One more thing before I leave: if you are tired of the summer heat, Kangdin is the city you want to come! In late June, the daily high is 12 C!
The travel to the city has made extremely convenient by the recent completed Highway 42--an incredible feat of tunnel engineering in the world.

GGuest UserThe hotel is not bad. It is near the bus station located at the far east of town. So it is a bit of a trek to downtown area (about 1.3 km). The rooms are nice and spacious although I would never stay there again. We were booked in building 2 which is a short walk from the main hotel and you pass in the middle of other businesses which can be a little confusing. I suggest you encourage someone from the front desk to accompany guest to the building. The building was pointed out to us and we had to figure our the door key system ourselves. On our 2nd day there we put the 'clean room' sign on the door and NOTHING happened. Our room was not cleaned even though we could see the cleaners on our floor as left. Our main reason for staying was based on the review about breakfast. This time around it was terrible. Beyond worse and I have stayed at numerous Chinese hotels before. They used powdered milk, powdered soy milk, powdered instant coffee etc. At least have the decency to not do it RIGHT in from of our line of sight. There was bread/toast (no butter and no jam). There were cakes same variant but they seemed rationed.
Would I recommend it to others--maybe just don't pay for the breakfast and be prepared to clean your own room???
The upside, there's a ******* restaurant that serves the most delicious food. And the service is fast and the family is friendly. Highly recommended.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel's hygiene is not as good as I expected, and the room size is not big, but I looked at the hotels in Kangding and the room sizes are not too big. This hotel is barely adequate, and the hygiene is a bit unsatisfactory, but The facilities and equipment in the room are very good. I really like the hair dryer provided by the boss. It's not bad. The boss even came down to pick us up because we couldn't find the road and it was quite roundabout. The service was still very good.
