"Great location away from the centre of Sydney, but close enough to get into the City within 10 minutes.  This hotel has a washing machine and dryer in the bathroom, very convenient for extended stays or washing a single load. Use a debit or credit card to tap in /out at the train station for every journey, it’s not expensive. Use the same method for trains, trams, light railway, ferry’s and buses. No food available at the hotel, locally there is a lot of food outlets, fantastic pies at Romeos pie shop, The reception staff Jess and Louis are very friendly and extremely helpful."

"The room was clean and bright, the bed was very comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent. The view from the scenic room was amazing, and I could see the Darling Harbour lights at night. The central location made getting around very convenient. The only minor drawback was that the standard room wasn't particularly spacious, but the facilities were new and well-maintained. Overall, it was a great experience."

"Nice hotel. Usually good value for the price, except when they are almost full, then it can get expensive. But most of the time good value for money. Staff are very polite and amiable and most of the rooms are clean and comfortable. A few rooms are a little rough and dated but they are slowly being renovated. All round great hotel."

Amazing
AAnonymous UserThey say Australian hotels have bad service, and I experienced this first-hand. Even at a 5-star hotel, the mini-bar was constantly forgotten during daily cleanings in both rooms I booked, which were on different floors. Also, during breakfast, genuinely friendly staff were few and far between. Out of all the days I stayed, only two female staff members greeted guests with a smile. On April 5th, the front desk was manned by a male attendant in a brown suit, with a brush cut and a beard. My parents arrived before me, so he gave them three English menus. When I arrived, I asked him for a Chinese menu. He said 'okay,' but I waited for a very long time, and he never brought it. During this time, I asked two other staff members about it. I told them I needed a Chinese menu, and they both said 'okay,' but none of them brought it to me. I waited for a very, very long time! I couldn't wait any longer, so I took an English menu myself and went to the front desk to exchange it. As I walked towards the front desk, the same male attendant with the brush cut and beard also walked over. I then told the female attendant at the front desk that I needed a Chinese menu. The male attendant then came over and *actually said* he was also looking for a Chinese menu 🙄. In reality, menus in various languages are usually available at the front desk. And normally, when they check guests in, they ask what language they prefer and provide the appropriate menu. The staff on duty that day hadn't placed Chinese menus on the counter and then delayed providing them when guests asked. I don't want to bring up 'discrimination against Chinese people,' but the attitude of prioritizing foreign guests while neglecting Chinese guests is unacceptable. I will absolutely never choose Capella again!

GGuest UserWe booked W sydney months in advance with breakfast included and is worth it . Food choices are plenty during breakfast and can order different eggs style and cooking preparation during breakfast and can order different hot or cooled selection of drinks as well. Hotel is clean and location is near china town ,paddys market , and harbour easily accessible to townhall in a walkable distance of 7-10 mins away. There is a fireworks show on saturday night that lasted 5-7minutes.. There are lots of restaurants around the area and ice cream shops as well . There is even a park at the back of the hotel and a playground for kids. I highly recommend this hotel. There is 2 pool in the hotel at 22nd floor and 29th floor .  The hotel is beside  Imax cinema .

GGuest UserGreat location and overall an amazing stay, but soundproofing could be much better. Take note that there are rooms without the balcony , which I should have asked prior checking in. The hotel is in a fantastic location — very convenient and accessible, which made exploring the area super easy. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. However the housekeeping service, the blanket’s sheets were removed by us but she just left on the floor instead of cleaning it up and the vanity kit was not restored. (I’m not entirely sure how is housekeeping like in AUS, but it’s not the best) That said, the walls are extremely thin, and noise was a consistent issue throughout. You can hear people talking and walking in the hallway, the housekeeping trolley rolling by, and even the closing of nearby doors, which is surprisingly loud and jarring. The other rooms are very close to each other, so you can even hear the other rooms alarm(which kept snoozing 3 times from 7am) the doors do not have a soft close to when it closes it keeps banging— it gets disruptive. If you’re a light sleeper or sensitive to noise, this might be something to keep in mind. But if you’re okay with a bit of background noise, the hotel still offers great value in a prime location. REMEMBER to ask if there’s any renovation works happening prior to booking (we had ours on the last day and the drilling was so loud)

NNichengEdcThis hotel is pretty good overall. The lobby has a great vibe, much better decorated than many places that claim to be 5-star. The surrounding area is really nice; Darling Harbour is right downstairs, and it's a quick walk to Chinatown. Plus, the neighborhood feels safe and not chaotic, so I think it offers great value for money. In Australia, you always have to ask for toothbrushes and slippers, which can be a bit of a hassle, but generally speaking, it was a good stay. The bed was notably larger than many other hotels, which was a real plus. One odd thing, though, is that there wasn't a weighing scale, which is unusual as even four-star hotels usually provide one.

GGuest UserGreat location, and the room was clean and tidy. The lobby is quite small, and it felt like there were mostly Asian guests staying there. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and a supermarket is just a hundred meters away. It's also very close to shopping malls and attractions, all within walking distance.

GGuest UserOverall, it's okay, but the facilities are not as good as other Meriton properties, perhaps because it's an older one. The mandatory credit card policy isn't great, as you have to pay extra credit card service fees! This wouldn't be an issue with cash, but Meriton only accepts credit cards. I ended up paying over 400 extra for a 9-night stay, which I'm not happy about.

228Rahil08We traveled to Sydney over NYE, so choices were limited as I booked quite late. Limited in the sense of price / quality. I think Meriton was a good alternative with also a decent view on the firework. Since I went by boat on 9pm firework I didn’t need to be close for the midnight one (personal choice) Reception was superb, we got the room already at around 12:30. Very friendly staff. We were in Tower 3, so had to walk quite a bit indoors to get there. But getting out is easy, the tower has a separate entry / exit. Overall, that was the summary: • Spacious family-friendly apartments with very large rooms and floor-to-ceiling windows • Stunning views from the third tower, including a clear view all the way to the Harbour Bridge on New Year’s Eve • Excellent location with direct metro access, major shopping malls within walking distance, and great breakfast cafés nearby We stayed here as a family over New Year’s Eve and had a fantastic experience. While it was not cheap, the space, views, and connectivity more than justify the price, making it an excellent base for exploring Sydney comfortably.

GGeorgeR21Although the rooftop swimming pool is not big, the view is great. There are buildings under construction around, so the environment is a bit noisy, but the working hours on Australian construction sites are short, so most of the time it does not affect the stay experience. Upgraded to a terrace room, the room is spacious and the hygiene is very good, in line with InterContinental's consistent standards. The location is not far from Sydney's major attractions, but there is no public transportation. It is recommended to take a taxi or Uber. Double Bay, where the hotel is located, is a high-end residential area. The nearby beaches and commercial areas are worth a visit. Overall, it is recommended, especially if you are not in a hurry or have already visited Sydney's major attractions, you can stay here for a while.

FFoshanliaoshenGetting there is super easy. From Sydney Airport Station, it's just a few stops on the T train to Central Station. Then, it's about an 8-minute walk to the hotel – the whole trip takes less than 20 minutes. From Central Station, you can hop on the light rail to get to many nearby attractions, which is really convenient. Quick tip: Buy an Opal card as soon as you get to the airport station; you can top it up whenever you need to!

GGuest UserWe had a brilliant experience at the Langham for our wedding anniversary! I forgot how much I like the Langham brand. From the pink ribbon around the toilet paper to the sleep ammenities (we asked for the sleep pillow mist and the room diffuser) to the suggested third eye massage technique and the chamomile tea before bedtime, we felt totally pampered and taken care of. Reservation was made for our celebratory dinner with fine steak dinner over the fantastic view of the Opera House. In room breakfast was delivered on time and the quantity copious. The Spanish bell boy was helpful and friendly. We were also upgraded to a harbour view room to our delight. Location was convenient to walk either to Barangaroo or the Rocks, for ferry ride or metro. Very pleased to have chosen The Langham, it was absolutely the right decision for us!
