The most satisfying pet-friendly hotel I have stayed in recently! It takes 2 and a half hours to drive from Shanghai. The hotel fully implements the four words ”pet-friendly”. You can bring your dogs to the restaurant, and the staff are also very pet-friendly. The cleaning fee is reasonable and fair. The room is clean and tidy with complete facilities, and the heating is very sufficient. The lake view room has a great view. It is very pleasant to sit on the balcony and drink tea. The free minibar has beer and drinks, and the boss is generous. It can be seen that the green landscaping is carefully designed, and the dogs also have a large lawn to play ball. The 2-night package I bought includes a free boat experience and can also bring dogs. The entertainment facilities are complete. I saw that there are karaoke and chess and card rooms. The hotel also has two swimming pools. The indoor swimming pool is kept at a constant temperature of 25 meters, which is very comfortable. There are resident performances in the lobby bar every night, which is great. The most surprising thing is that the restaurant is quite good. Whether it is breakfast or the main meal in the Chinese restaurant, it is better than most of the chain five-star hotels I have stayed in. It is highly recommended for pet lovers to travel with their pets.

This hotel is one of my top choices in Shaoxing. The property is nearly brand new, and my wife and I stayed here for three nights during a business trip. It was a wonderful experience, and here’s our detailed review: We stayed on the 51st executive floor, specifically in room 5128, which offered a stunning lake view and an impressively spacious layout. The room featured a proper bathtub, his-and-hers sinks, and a separate section for the shower and toilet, divided by transparent glass partitions. However, the lack of privacy in this setup could be uncomfortable if you’re sharing the room with a colleague or business associate. Since I was traveling with my wife, this wasn’t an issue for us. Service: 9/10 Although most of the staff didn’t speak or understand English, they made a genuine effort to ensure guests were happy. Language barriers in China are common, but using a translator app helped us navigate communication seamlessly. Night shift front desk manager Lynn was very helpful and spoke English properly. She also recommended Cleanliness: 10/10 The housekeeping team was highly attentive and thorough, keeping the room spotless throughout our stay. Breakfast: 9/10 Breakfast was served at the Manhattan Restaurant on the 45th floor, offering stunning views. The buffet featured a great mix of Western and Oriental dishes, including a wide variety of cheeses, croissants, a self-serve ground coffee machine, fresh fruits, and a selection of dumplings. Location: 7/10 The hotel is about 20 minutes from Shaoxing North Railway Station, which was convenient for us. However, the immediate surroundings don’t offer much— the nearest convenience store is about a 8-10 minute walk. We used DiDi for all our trips, so this wasn’t a major issue. For shopping or dining, Wanda Plaza Mall is about 12 minutes away by car, offering a variety of restaurants, including McDonald’s, KFC, and Starbucks. We highly recommend trying Green Tea, a local restaurant on the mall’s third floor, for delicious food at reasonable prices. Overall, we had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. We would definitely choose this hotel again on our next visit to Shaoxing.
Shaoxing Lu Xun's hometown Huajianfu Chaohua Xishi Hotel

Shaoxing Downtown Area
Full marks were given to the waiters and their children and pet-friendliness. The children worked very hard, but it was obvious at first glance that their training was inadequate. The hardware has caught up, but the software is really so-so. Please pay more attention. The suggestions are for the boss: 1. We stayed in the largest suite, and the hair dryer in the master bathroom couldn't be plugged in. It fell off when I loosened my hand, and I was drying my hair in the living room. Are all facilities inspected before being put into operation? It's only the second week and it's like this, which means there was no inspection at the beginning; 2. The second bedroom and the tatami room are even more exaggerated. There are no air-conditioning vents. My friend who lives in the second bedroom almost froze to death. They froze to death in the winter and burned to death in the summer. How is the air-conditioning system designed? How can people live in a bedroom without air conditioning? 3. The second bathroom does not have any toiletries, not even soap. Doesn't the person in the second bedroom have the right to wash? My other friend lives in a family room, a triple room, and there are only two sets of toothbrushes. What's the idea behind giving two sets of toothbrushes to a triple room? Shouldn't this be trained in advance? 4. When breakfast was delivered to the room, the staff were shivering with cold when they brought it to us. They were also freezing cold and our food was cold. Didn’t they ever think of buying an insulated box like the one the courier boys use? Breakfast for two comes with a small piece of corn and a sausage. Are you trying to have a fight between the two of us and whoever wins gets to eat it? Hot Americano, in a glass? Porcelain cups for hot drinking and glass cups for cold drinking. You are in the hotel industry, do I need to be told this? If you bring a glass cup for hot drinking outside in a temperature close to zero degrees Celsius, you are lucky if it doesn't explode and hurt anyone. 5. The access control system is even more exaggerated. In order to safely enter the iron gate by swiping a card, there is an access control switch on the inside, which can be opened by simply reaching out from the outside. There is no need for a door card and anyone can enter. What do designers think? Not safe at all and totally unnecessary. 6. The door of the hotel lobby is separated by a door and a piece of glass. The real door is still glass. After closing, even my sensitive dog can't tell which is the glass and which is the door, let alone us who are not sensitive. We wanted to go in but couldn't find the door after turning around for a long time. Just put a sign on the real door saying ”This is the door” or ”Enter from here”. . . I never review hotels, but this time I want to offer a few suggestions in the hope that pet-friendly hotels will do better. If it is a single store, I won’t say anything. But for such a large hotel group, could you please pay more attention to the details and training?

Dayu Cemetery and Kuaiji Mountain Tourist Resort
Grand House Shaoxing was an 4000 years old village which had an ancient history, villagers surname Si (姒)were Dayu‘s (大禹)tomb guards for thousands of years. Now it is as a beautiful hotel with a lot of amenities ! Breakfast had many local specialties were very delicious ! It’s also had a big restaurant and wedding banquet hall ! Room is beautiful as in my photos. Hotel located only 4 KM from city centre, as taxi only cost less A$7. We stayed 3 nights, enjoyed peaceful country life, also the very busy tourist spot ! I must mention all the stuff in the hotel are so helpful, specially the young man who greeted us on arrival in the rain at night, helping us changed room because I can’t get to upstairs loft ! I hope more tourists visit Shaoxing and stay in this hotel, because it is a totally different experience from big city like Shanghai or Beijing, and you will not regret it.
