Stayed here for 1 night. When we first checked in, the hotel had a smoke smell, requested for a change and lucky the hotel was able to change for us
Hotel bed is very comfortable! One of the most comfortable hotel I have been too. Room is spacious and big. The hotel have very nice decoration and it is very new. One thing to improve is probably housekeeping, we found a a small tiny fake eyelashes sticked to the wall.
Location is about 1 street away from mrt station, 5mins walk.

We stayed for 5 days and were impressed from the start when we were given an early check-in on the first day at no extra charge. The location is excellent and very convenient for traveling. The room was clean and comfortable, with an easily adjustable heater. Housekeeping was done daily, and the amenity kits were replenished every day. The staff provided excellent service and were very helpful. Highly recommended!

Last minute booking cause we weren’t happy with the original hotel. No regrets at all! Should have stayed here from day 1 itself!
Hotel is at The Bund itself, with a great view as soon as you step outside. Room is spacious and clean with all the amenities, and more than enough water from the start. Service staff is great, they allowed us to extend our checkout time.
Hotel breakfast has a wide spread and the late night porridge was good.
Would recommend this hotel for anyone who visits Shanghai!

Overall great experience. Great location and amenities. Spotlessly clean. Great breakfast options. Friendly staff. A little bit of air con noise and bed is a bit on the firm side but tolerable.
We stayed in a family room and it would be great to have a children’s stepping stool for washing hands etc. Also make sure you bring enough clothes. Laundry service is very expensive and takes 2 days on average.

My family and I had a truly pleasant stay at this wonderful hotel. The Pure Enjoyment Suite and Wonderful Room were both incredibly spacious and comfortable, making our stay all the more relaxing. The service staff were exceptional—friendly, attentive, and always ready to assist with a smile. The location is unbeatable, just a short walk to Nanjing Walking Street and The Bund, making it perfect for exploring the city. We also loved the inviting atmosphere of the reception and room lobbies, with thoughtful touches like mineral water and a coffee maker available at reception. The hotel receptionist and online agents are not very helpful.. also the laundry provided are limited with only 4 dryers and 4 washing machines shared with all hotel tenants. And you had to wait for hours until your turn. Also, the hotel had 3 scheduled electricity cut off during our two nights stay in the midnight. Cleaners also entered our room when we are still sleeping. Overall the stay was not bad but there are much more to improve on.

The location is excellent. The location is very prime and near lots of eateries. although the exterior has a bit of a rough vibe, the lobby also is a bus station so it not those fancy entry lobby. Hotel rooms are located on a old building 2nd / 3rd floors but is retrofitted. The interiors is ecletic but functional. Would be better if the closet area was wider so a suitcase can be placed.
One of the supervisor lady is excellent, even helped me with my heavy suitcase when I was departing for airport to ensure I can get my ride properly.

Nice hotel with a convenient location close to Nanjing Road. Just a few steps from People's Square Exit 14, but if you have large luggage, I recommend using Exit 15. Overall, the room is comfortable and cozy. Breakfast consists mainly of Chinese food with limited options. The staff does not speak English.The hotel name appears on AMAP is different.

Hotel is very near Yu Gardens and Cheng Huang Miao. The nearest train station is just about 10-15 mins walk, very convenient.
Housekeeper were very attentive and helped to clean our room everyday, spotless 👍🏻
Receptionists were friendly and always never fails to greet all the guest.
Definitely recommend this place for all fellow travellers 👍🏻

RReiseplanerThis hotel is a gem. The location is perfect (less than a 5 minute walk to the nearest metro station and plenty of coffee and restaurant options in the area; count ~1.5h to and from PVG airport), the room and shared facilities (bonus point for the toilet paper that is better than many 4-star and 5-star hotels) are spotless clean, the bed is comfortable (different pillows are even provided), and the price/value ratio is almost unbeatable. There is even free tea and drinking water available.
Please note that having taken the upper bed window room, packing a bag can be a challenge compared to the lower bed one I imagine. Also, all usb ports available are USB A.
Few points can be improved: the windows let a flow of air coming in even if closed (the duvet is warm though), a little usb bed light would be useful (as it is not convenient to turn off the lights once in bed, have to do it before), the tv didn’t work in my case but that wasn’t an issue for me, the towels are disposable and normal towels would be a huge plus (pack a small towel should you want one), and lastly, whilst there’s no noise permeating in-between rooms, corridor movements can be easily heard (nothing that earplugs cannot solve).

KKhosIt was very worth the for 4 night stay. Breakfast was very excellent, tasty and delicious deserts, you can have any food type, drinks you could get. Service were excellent, such as receptions, they are easy to communicate in English compared to how difficult it can be to understand people at China. The location itself is very perfect. There is a nearby mall only 1 crossroad ahead you can get anything you like at there such as Starbucks, Subway, Pizza hut, KFC, Supermarket, Mcdonalds, and the metro is only few walks away which is SUPER convenient for us to transport. Also if you're visiting the Shanghai Disneyland they will transport you there without any charge. When we arrive in Shanghai again, we will definitely come back next time. Thanks to the staff members for excellent service.

The pool and whirlpool, are well-maintained and offer a beautiful view, creating a relaxing atmosphere. Both areas are clean and thoughtfully designed. During our visit over Golden Week, the hotel was understandably busy, especially at breakfast. While the service throughout the hotel is professional, English proficiency is limited, except at the front desk, which mirrors the trend in many hotels in the region.

김김I have stayed in multiple hotels in SH. Including The Conrad, Renaissance, Pudong Intercontinental and Maxx. Maxx is definitely a hotel with Character, Style, and Color. unlike your everyday & everywhere the same ‘typical 5* hotel’ it has many ‘caring’ features for a truly delightful experience. the flowery scent of the lobby area and the service coffee machine and tomatoes in the lobby, are just some of the small but very delicate warmth that I felt while staying at Maxx. the wooden floor in the room was very good too, especially with kids because carpet floors, how ever much you clean, it does have that raggedy smell with time. but not at maxx. The view? second to none obviously. the location? prime - right in front of the ferry to pudong. and 5-10mins from yuyuan gardens. Especially, the staff. I have had my share of rather unfriendly staff in China. But all of maxx’s staff were sooooo friendly and warm and kind. the door men (both Chinese and western person) - they helped us every time we went up and down the entrance stairs with our pram with the baby, and the check in staff were so caring too. And i see a lot of people complaining about the fact that the staff are not fluent in English. Bro, turn on your google translate man. you are half way across the Earth in China, and no where does it say anywhere ‘our staff are fluent in English’ - ‘when in Rome…’ - But to be fair, Maxx had multiple lady staff who were sufficient in English to my surprise, and she was really nice and helpful. (please give her a raise lol).
Anyway I will definitely stay here again w/o even looking at other hotels in SH for sure. 10/10.

I was bothered on a few occasions by cleaners or people coming to knock on the door e.g.the cleaner came inside the room even though I said it was too late and I didn't want the room to be cleaned now. It was around 5pm and no one had cleaned the room during the day, but by that time I was ready to relax. There was a language barrier so she just came in and started replacing snacks and drinks and tried to start cleaning up in the bathroom and I had to ask her to leave. I noticed before I left that there was a button for 'do not disturb' but it wasn't obvious so it would be good for the staff to mention that when showing you to your room. I also think it's a good idea for them to have a book with information regarding the restaurant, gym, spa etc.etc. there's some info on the TV but it isn't very detailed.

EEe MingThe hotel service is exceptional. Calling for room service was quick and the staff are very polite and friendly. The bed are very clean and you have the option of choosing the type of pillow you want.
Location is fantastic as it is near the main shopping street. Besides it is a subway which makes travelling around so convenient. Highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Shanghai.

FFamPlanFirst of all 5 stars to Peng Ho (何鹏) service, very helpful and proactive, helped with us during check in and when leaving the hotel with 🧳 and getting our ride to the airport.
Also 5 stars for another lady helped with our check in, she let me viewed a few rooms as I wasn't exactly sure about my stay, she prepared a welcome fruit platter for us.
The hotel is quite wore off, l9bby seemed ok, but once in elevator, corridors all appeared wore off and not clean, then the room arranged for us is full of smell, moldy and smokes, the room we settled is not as smelly, but still found stains, dirt etc in the room, I have especially requested a well cleaned and dusted room before check in due to allergies. Since t was our last stop of a 2+ weeks vacation plus it's only one night so we didn't move, if it is at the beginning or staying longer, I would've moved hoteldue to the first impression of elevator /corridor and room,I was tired that didn't even take picture of the room, our room was facing some old neighborhood, no scenery at all, plus it's noisy in the morning around 6, noises from heavy machinery.
But location is quite convenient, walking distance to the Bund, took us about 20 minutes walk to reach the starting point of the Bund.
