POM POM Island Resort

Excellent resort, great coral reef for snorkelling, and clean waters. An issue with floating plastic bottles washing up on shore every few hours. Breakfast food offering needs some variety and there were no amenities. But if you like chilled relaxed holidays and you are not a fussy eater, this is the place for you

The island itself is simply unreal. It takes you a whole day to stop saying "oh my god" every time you turn your head. It looks like heaven. We stayed at the water villas and they were also incredible. All the staff members were incredibly kind and helpful. The manager is a great worker and puts a lot of effort in accommodating your needs. There are many activities available every day and there is good flexibility to allow you to do as much as possible every day. You can book dives, even to sipadan. Unfortunately, there is a lot of rubbish on the beach, as everywhere in the Semporna area. But, being this resort so exclusive and expensive, they should really put more effort in cleaning up the beach and snorkeling area, at least once a day. Another improvement area is the menu for vegetarians: the food itself is good, but quite monotonous for vegetarians. Lastly, there is a very nice beach bar area near the pier, which however is not in use and it looks like it hasn't been for a while. The resort at night is very quiet and dark, so putting that bar to use would improve greatly the atmosphere ay night and even during the day, to have a drink between swims and snorkeling sessions.

Simply stunning little island with the most beautiful beach. We liked it better than Mataking because the bungalows are well hidden and blend in well with the shore line. Also it had more of a remote island feeling, which we enjoyed. The staff was overall very welcoming and helpful. Truly was a worthy conclusion of our two weeks in Malaysia.

The beach was beautiful and amazing same as in the photos. Only downside I would say the meals provided were below average, lacking in selection and freshness.
