Stayed for business trip. Restaurant - not open on a Monday - Fair enough Room - Deluxe? Was cold, smelt & the don’t get me started on the en-suite! En-suite - Too small. Toilet you had to sit side ways on. Wash hand basin was small, but still impeded access into the shower. The shower was terrible. Lack of hot water & flow very poor. Dust all over the wood panelling. Breakfast - Was ok’sh. Summary - Dont think we will be staying here again. Which is a shame, the bar & service was good.

We booked 8 rooms in July 23 for Sept 24. We cancelled them in Jan 24 but now the manger and business owner have only offered a 50% refund. Be very very careful before you make a book at this property. They do not abide by rheir website T&Cs.

Everything was lovely. We stayed, ate in the restaurant and had drinks in the bar. Both the evening meal and breakfast we well prepared. The room was lovely. One tiny thing lacking is a shelf in the bathroom. The bed was so comfy. We are both really tall so bed size can be a problem but all was good. Would definitely recommend and would hope to return one day.

We visited for 2 nights and really enjoyed our stay. We arrived Friday late afternoon and check in was quick. Sedgefield is a lovely place and we had a room with a view over the church and green. We ate in the restaurant where there was a really nice atmosphere. Service was a little slow however our steaks were cooked perfectly and the meal was lovely. Our room (6) was small but perfectly formed, the bed was comfortable, great variety of teas and coffees and love a Tunnock's caramel wafer! It was warm but we had a big fan so not an issue. The full English breakfast was really nice too and the lady who served us was friendly, efficient and remembered what drinks we had the day before, I'm sorry I didn't catch your name but thank you for making us feel welcome! 🤗

Venturing into Sedgefield I always have to stay at the Parson, hospitality is always 10/10 the manager is always a delight and happy to accommodate my awkward requests (Pillow Princess) the room was lovely, very clean. Easy check-in and breakfast was divine 😋 top compliments to the chef. Thank you for a lovely visit, can't wait for the next one!

The last time I visited Sedgefield was in 1982! Not much has changed as I remember it. A quaint little town, which a fabulous church as the focal point. There was so much choice for places to have a quick lunch, but I was so pleased I picked the Pickled Parson. A nicely laid out restaurant and bar, extremely clean and fresh. The menu had ample choice, from lite bites to substantial plates. I went for the bacon Brie and cranberry sandwich. It was lovely, however I feel it would’ve been better if they’d toasted the bread, considering the hot filling. All in all a great stop off.

Met some friends with the intention of having Sunday lunch. They had Turkey, I had Lamb. Delicious. We said the sort of cooking you would do for yourself. Good quality lamb, veggies cooked nicely. We all really enjoyed it.

My Dad asked me to write a review for his stay he spent with my Mam for a wedding. He doesn’t have trip advisor so I am writing this for him. The hotel, food and area were brilliant. The trio ad a whole was fantastic as we were staying for a wedding. Unfortunately this stay was ruined due to the hotel and *********** letting us down. Due to a mistake *********** made, we ended up with 2 rooms instead of 1, of which we did not know about until after our stay when the hotel contacted us. No one at the hotel mentioned an additional room even though we were at the reception 3 times during our stay. Upon gathering this information we contacted the hotel to be met with “well you should be more careful” and to “blame whoever booked it”. All be it they didn’t charge us full price for the extra room, it’s not the point. I understand that the hotel has lost out on a night stay however It was not our fault that *********** booked 2 rooms and only sent us information/confirmation for the 1 intended room. When trying to contact ***********, I was hung up on 3 times after speaking to an agent, explaining our situation, and being completely ignored. Unfortunately, what would have been a lovely stay has turned into a nightmare and no help was given. After trying and trying to get the situation across to both the hotel and ***********, we have ended up losing money for someone else’s mistake. We would have loved to return to this hotel however the whole experience has been tarnished due to lack of understanding and help from both the hotel and ***********.

I wish I could have given this a better rating as it is a lovely pub. The staff however make it an unfriendly place to be- rude and unaccommodating. Perhaps they don’t get paid enough or we just visited on a bad day, but it just felt awkward in there.
