Room a little outdated, holes in the blinds which let the light in, dirty grout in the shower and the shower head was broken and the glasses were dirty. I never ever leave a bad review, but after a great experience at 4 other different hotels across NZ this trip, the front desk lady on arrival at the Novotel was not the friendliest - it felt like we were an inconvenience to her. It was check in time and she was the only staff member on with a queue of people. On a positive note, the bed was comfortable."

We found the receptionist and responded that it was a mistake because he was not familiar with it. He agreed to change it and showed enthusiasm to help move the luggage. We forgave him temporarily; After checking in, we found that there was a device failure and called the waiter again. He came to fix it himself. At this time, it was known that he was not a temporary help and was not unfamiliar with the situation in the store; At breakfast the next day, one of us went to breakfast first and found that there was only a small area with simple milk, cold bread and other foods. He asked the waiter (still the same person) why there were so few. He brought an English menu and said that there were freshly made dishes here, but they needed to be paid separately. When we came to eat, the waiter still swore that it only included a simple breakfast😰. It is not uncommon for breakfast restaurants to make breakfast according to customer needs. Our hotel room included breakfast fees, so how could it be just simple milk and bread? At this time, the waiter started to call someone, and a white woman came. After a few simple conversations, it was immediately OK. At the same time, it also reported to Ctrip, which booked the hotel. After verification, Ctrip apologized and comforted. A wonderful journey, beautiful scenery, and a beautiful breakfast were almost ruined by the waiter. The most ridiculous thing is that he swore that this is the case here, and a single order will be charged separately. After proving that he was wrong, he also added that the store where I work charges separately; Another detail that happened later proved his problem again: when we communicated with the white staff and got OK, she brought over a Chinese and English menu. Recalling that the Chinese waiter only handed over the English one. At this point, there is no doubt that it was intentional before. To put it nicely, it was done by the employees themselves. If they were caught, they would collect black money to make extra money, but there was obviously no price on the menu. Is this blind or low IQ? ! The waiter also introduced himself as working here after graduating from a graduate program in New Zealand. I suspect that the hotel owner instructed them to test the waters with Chinese guests. When someone raised a question, he said that the waiter was unfamiliar with the situation and made a mistake. If he got away with it, he would get away with it. If the waiter was really unfamiliar with the situation and made repeated mistakes, the hotel is also responsible. Since it is a hotel open to the public and the price is not cheap, shouldn't it be equipped with professional and well-educated waiters? Isn't it a serious discount on the service if someone who is not trained and unfamiliar with the situation comes? ! Fortunately, Ctrip is guaranteed. Afterwards, it has received a 300 yuan consolation payment. I hope that in the future, it will strengthen the review and supervision of this type of non-standard homestay hotel services to protect the interests of tourists, especially to avoid possible traps in overseas travel. I didn't expect that even today, I would still encounter traps set by Chinese people against Chinese people. I hope that I will not receive consolation money in the future. After all, it is more important to be happy when traveling. But thank you Ctrip for its quick response."

"Many people come to the Blue Lake in RVs and yachts. Needless to say, the scenery of the Blue Lake is so beautiful. Sitting by the lake relaxes your teeth and scalp. The resort has separate toilets and shared toilets/bathrooms. Mostly locals come for water sports and swimming/camping, very few Chinese tourists. It is recommended to bring a swimming ring or surfboard from January to March. There are no restaurants around, so we brought instant noodles and tomatoes on our backs. After eating a few days later, we took a 10-minute taxi to the Landing Cafe next to Terawera Lake to eat. The beach was very lively on a sunny day, filled with children and adults with dogs🐶 Come and play in the water. The lake is crystal clear and opposite is a volcano. You can talk to local people with yachts and let them drive to the hot water beach at the foot of the volcano for a hot spring♨️."
