"We’ve spent two nights in this friendly guesthouse/hotel. The ferry takes you there after delivering the other guests on Tuktuk (we decided to take a 2km walk). The location is great, hosts are very friendly and the food is excellent. We have rented bikes a bit further down the road and made a nice tour. We loved our stay. For the way back, the team called the ferry. Unfortunately we were the first pickup and it took us 50 minutes before the ferry made the crossing. In short: a recommendation when you wnt to stay on Samosir, Lake Toba."

"A sprawling complex of buildings, paths, and a whooooole lot of stairs. One building had 4 or 6 rooms with a balcony/terrace and chairs. It's a bit of a hike with your suitcase, especially up and down stairs, but the room was good, with a great shower and bathroom. The Wi-Fi and air conditioning worked perfectly, but the TV had static on 4 channels, but I can't understand a thing anyway... The view of Lake Toba was also quite good. Unfortunately, they also had screened windows near the window frames, so they couldn't be closed, and early in the morning (5:30 a.m.) you could hear people/children talking and playing outside. The curtains were also hung under these screens, so it was very light in the room very early. That's not a problem if you want to get up early, but it doesn't keep you dark. We ate in the restaurant, nasi goreng and fried banana, which were very tasty. The staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast was rather meager: toast with one kind of jam and chocolate sprinkles, the usual rice, nasi goreng, and noodles, and you had to be patient for the fried eggs. The second night we ate at Tabo Cottages, a chicken schnitzel and a banana pancake, which was fine."
