Property Description
This large victorian house unit 2 is extraordinary because it is located on the historic Irvine Park square with beautiful views of its fountain and gazebo - this is the only rental available on the park!! The victorian was handmade in 1869 and the exterior is now a museum piece preserved by the National Register of Historic Places. It is featured in Saint Paul walking and bus history tours, history books and even a history comic book! The Horn House is one of Saint Paul's oldest homes located in Saint Paul's oldest neighborhood. This historic 1869 victorian has 2 residences in it. Each residence is 1500 ft² with 3 levels. The two units share a beautiful wraparound porch, outdoor furniture, fire pit, and a long wood dining table under a beautiful pergola in the back. Each residence has it's own private entrance and 100% totally private inside with a private kitchen and living space. This Airbnb is for residence #2. Note: if this rental is not available on your dates, please look for the other house residence to rent, same name but different unit number. Both residences are listed for rent. This house is perfect for group fun for Xcel Events, a home base for weddings in Irvine Park, romantic weekends and fun. Perhaps the most special part of the house is it's wrap around porch! This is the very best porch in Saint Paul to hang out, sip drinks, and enjoy the scenic retro ambience of Minnesota's oldest neighborhood. Irvine Park is a magical bubble in the heart of Saint Paul. It is a square of antique Victorians surrounding a beautiful little park. Irvine Park is quiet like a small town even though it is just blocks from the hustle bustle of popular bars, restaurants and Xcel Energy Center. This house has extra special history to baseball and movie fans because it was previously owned by Mike Veeck of the Saint Paul Saints and was the occasional hang-out and sleeping pad for Saints co-owner actor Bill Murray. This house was also the hang out for academy award winning actress Marisa Tomei and academy award nominee Matt Dillon while they filmed the movie Factotum in Irvine Park. This was our “home away from home “ for 5 weeks. It didn’t disappoint. Comfy beds, nice bathroom, small but functional kitchen, and just wonderful outdoor areas to relax in. We felt welcome and would definitely stay again.

Historic neighborhood - great location This house is perfect for folks who love historic homes and neighborhoods. It is situated perfectly for walking down to the river and up to restarurants and bars. We went to a show at the Palace Theater and it was only a 15 minute walk. The bedrooms and bathrooms are high quality and comfortable. The outdoor spaces were lovely to use in the autumn weather. Mike was very helpful and communicative with us. We really enjoyed it!

Historic Charm This property was an opportunity to be a part of history. This house and quaint neighborhood are nestled within blocks of major locations of activities, but you never even knew it was there. The host was so kind and responsive, but really was never needed because this home had everything you needed. The charm and beauty of both the inside and outside of the home was one of a kind opportunity. Treat yourself to this gorgeous property, you won’t regret it.
