Very good, nice place. Facilities are good

Very spacious room, loved having a kitchenette. Room was clearly either a new addition or newly renovated and looked great. We backed onto the yards that contained the alpacas and sheep, with a few wild bunnies getting around, so it was an adorable view.

My partner and I stayed here last weekend nothing bad to say about this place would def stay here again! Nice to be not too close to town and heaps of places to park. Room was very clean and tidy, massive shower, big bed and a nice view from the room.

We stayed in the older or the two rows of rooms, however, it was still a pleasant space. Their was a main living/ sleeping space with 2 single beds and a sofa bed, together with the kitchen & dining area. Then there was a separate bedroom which has to be walked through by everyone to use the toilet, which was a bit strange. The rooms were clean, and you can visit the resident alpacas, sheep, rabbits which live across from the rooms. Its only a short drive into town, and its very close to some of the attractions like Skyline Rotorua. We would stay here again.

A short distance from the city centre, the motel is quiet despite being on a busy entrance to the city. Our Unit was tidy and clean. The bed was very comfortable, great bathroom facilities with a strong walk-in shower . All staff were friendly and approachable. Reasonably priced. We would definitely stay there again.

The best place we stayed at during our time in NZ. Perfect accommodation for our family of 4 adults - clean, very comfortable and with wonderful personal service. Made my 50th birthday extra special with decorations in our room on arrival. The animals and quiet atmosphere of the area made for a lovely stay.

This business breaches the Fair Trading Act. Hideaway Lodge specifically advertises their business as being pet friendly. In theory, you book a pet friendly suite, advise them that you're bringing pets in advance, and check in. The website states in clear language that there is no extra fee for bringing pets - only that owners are responsible for ensuring no damage is done and may be charged a fee to fix any damage. The pet studios are older and slightly run-down but its the trade-off for bringing a pet, which to me is fine. If my pets caused damage i wouldn't have an issue paying. What I don't appreciate, and will not accept, is paying up front specifically for a pet friendly suite and then having the person at the counter try to scam me out of extra money. I was told "the pet policy has changed". When I asked "when did this policy change?". I was then told "today" (a week after I had booked and paid for a pet friendly suite). They then told me "we'll waive the fee this time". Later I find out they've successfully done this to others at an earlier date - so they lied to me about the policy change and simply were after more money. This is false advertising. Under the Fair Trading Act, advertised prices must be genuine, and there must not be extra costs you weren't told about. It is illegal to attempt to add prices to the service at check-in after it has been booked and paid for. This was our second visit, but we will not be making a third. Avoid this scam business at all costs if you have pets.
