Albergo del Senato

Terrible is the true meaning of the word (thieves). I informed them 4 days before the arrival time of my trip cancellation due to the bad health situation of my father. They did not approve cancellation, and there was no amendment to reservation dates or cancellations. However, it shows on their booking itinerary that you have the right to amend or cancel; in reality, they do not activate it. Despite the numerous calls from the booking site asking them to do something, they denied all their attempts and took the 4 days reservation fee: thieves, just thieves.

Everything about the experience was wonderful! Everyone on the staff was very friendly and welcoming. The entire hotel was beautiful and spotless. Location was the best and breakfast also was delicious.

This was the best hotel experience of our trip! The hotel itself is beautiful, a space modernized with what is best (great air conditioning, WiFi, lots of outlets, great beds, the best and newest bathroom facilities) and yet is in an centuries old building, retaining all of that feel and accompanied by old-school grand hotel service. The large casement windows, set into foot thick stone walls, open up so that you can fully experience the view outside - which is the Pantheon!!! And I don’t mean down the street; I mean right there, next door! The staff is exceptional and the breakfast ample and with a little of everything but go to the rooftop bar after dark to see St. Peter’s, lit up, rising just west of you and the hills of the Roman Forum, walkable from your room, to the southeast. There are restaurants and shops, dozens, surrounding you. Try Er Fagiolara, less than five minutes walk. It was so delicious that we ate there twice and by the end of that meal we felt like family. Don’t think twice - you’d be hard pressed to find a hotel nicer, a staff more professional, or a location better. Select the upgrade to guarantee a room that opens to the Pantheon. It would be a mistake to be so close to the full experience and miss it for the sake of a few extra dollars. … when in Rome! D

Staff was wonderful. Fully attentive to our individual requests. Great buffet breakfast (excellent coffee) and room accommodations. We will certainly recommend the Albergo del Senato to our friends. Thank you for all your help. Steve Wallace

We only stayed one night before our flight home out of Rome. Our room was very nice overlooking the Pantheon. We enjoyed the views from the rooftop bar. We received a very warm and friendly welcome from the reception staff. Everything was fine until we woke up at midnight with no air conditioning. It was extremely hot. When I called the desk, the gentleman apologized profusely and offered us a room down the hall where we could go to sleep and not have to move our things. He escorted us to the nice cool room and we slept great until we returned in the morning to our hot room to pack up to leave for our flight. They were extremely apologetic at check out and it worked out ok. I would still recommend this hotel to others. It’s a great location and nicely furnished.
